Frank Herbert's dune was about humanity not terminator machines. Two sides of humanity that wanted the opposite things. One to use machines to make life easier and the other to do away with it and to rely on human intelligence

In God Emperor of Dune, Leto ll took Siona Attreides into his desert sareer and exposed her to spice essence, where she dreamed of the "seeking machines getting closer and closer" indicating the nature of the "outside enemy", I believe he calls it.

It’s Ixians that were/are going to create them though and when LetoII is bubbling away and dying, says they can no longer succeeded because of Siona’s blood line to come + the scattering

What I still don't understand about the aftermath of the Butlerian Jihad is how even 10,000 years later, people refused to use, even to consider using, non thinking computers and other machines that have no chance of attaining AI I know that mentats replaced computers and others have done similar devices The law said that they can't make tech in the form of thinking machines, but computers don't have their form

The jihad was about one group of humans who wanted to use machines to make there lives easier (it caused humans to become dumber) And another group who wanted to do away with machines so that humans could improve there own intelligence. There wasn't terminator machines in dune. It was all about humanity
