The QR codes extra pages was a very stupid idea. What the hell Brevoort are thinking? Who wanna expend 5 bucks in a incomplete comic book? Makes no sense. I think this discourages purchasing the individual issues, since the actual art can't be found inside the issue itself. It also takes away from the value of the issues for the same reason. These folks are truly brilliant. They're almost too smart for the rest of us, and I think that's why our enjoyment of Marvel comics has declined. It's because our pea-brains just can't keep up with Brevoort's and Co.'s genius.

Like Marvel needed another excuse for me NOT to buy their books. The terrible writing and art were huge factors in skipping Marvel. The QR codes are just the nugget of corn in the turd. I’ll stick with Energon Universe and the Ghost Machine books for the foreseeable future. Otherwise, a back catalogue of classic books will scratch that superhero itch.

You didn't even mention the worst thing about this: it's highly unlikely Marvel will continue to support the service that hosts the final pages for more than a couple years. In 5 + years, owners of these floppies will never be able to read the last page. Anyone who ever picks up these issues from a back issue bin will not be able to see the last page.

In other words, Marvel is making its readers print the last page of the book they brought (at full price) themselves if they ever wanted to have a complete floppy issue in their own shelves. Readers might as well wait for the trade paper back.

Those QR codes should have contained actual fun things like updated character bios, secrets about a particular character, or extra downloadable artwork (like wallpapers). They could have even continued rumors/Sinister's Red Diamond Secrets giving fun riddles about what's to come. But nope, they just wanted user data but were not honest enough to say it.

Jeezus Marvel reeaally needs to get a better marketing team for their comic publishing.. It sounds like it was what you said it should have been but by the time it got upchain ro the higher ups & their marketing team, that it was a totally different product. As this exploding Marvel QR controversy inflames the anger and rage across what remains of the comic collecting world, and to the extent that the FOC process details allow, I have to wonder of how many comic retailers are now in the process of effectively or largely "zeroing out" or greatly reducing their orders for subsequent issues. I think it would be more preferable to perhaps explain why their store has decided not to carry particular Marvel books rather than deal with the customer blow-back about this Marvel move which has nothing to do with the store.

The ultimate goal is to sell a dozen slightly different prints, and you scan the QR code on the back to view the whole comic online where you'll need a subscription to keep it, *BREATHES* only for a hacking or server fail to cause your account to be wiped out, anyways - only for it to be discovered by independent KZbin journalists that is was all staged to make you buy more digital copies since they long disabled the download from the QR. *HUFF, HUFF! Regain composure* What a comically villainous scheme to prop up sells and lower overhead. Diabolical!
