Once upon a time, in the distant 1980s, there was a genuine competition between Marvel and DC for best team book. The respective candidates were the X-Men and the Teen Titans. And both were so good that either answer was respectable. Today the question is which is worse. But there's still respectable opinions for either title.

This isn’t anything new, Donna has always been the second in command of whatever team Dick is leading. In fact there’s a story in the 80s where she couldn’t handle the pressure of being leader to the point that Jason Todd had talk sense some sense into her. However that was back in the day when dc was super consistent. These days it’s been pretty questionable in DC these days so I’m a little worried of how it’ll play out and I’m not a fan of Donna’s dialogue here.

Back in the day Donna Troy already had a stint as the leader of the Titans, when Nightwing took a break. This was during the brief time back in 1986 when Jason Todd was on the Titans, which is something not a lot of people seem to know about. For me the most memorable scene in that run was when Jason and Donna were talking while she was flying the T-jet, with her opening up about her apprehension about leading the Titans, and in her distraction almost flying the T-jet into one of the Twin Towers.

I get Dick being respectful as he can to Donna while she has the leader baton but really this works better with both of them being co-leaders of the team to begin with. You can tell the other Titans are trying not to overstep but whenever Dick is present they all usually fall in line and you can’t really blame ‘em for that

Titans-rebirth was great until near the end of that run. Donna has always been a strong charactor & a deputy leader, so her becoming leader is natural.

I was reading The New Teen Titans back in the '80s, and from 1993 until just recently, I bought *every* comic that featured Nightwing. I've just ditched every single one of my DC subscriptions. DC doesn't want normal customers like me anymore. 🚫🦇

The leadership switch was such a obvious "down with the patriarchy, more power to the girl boss" move, because, if Nightwing is saying he's too busy to lead the team, then WHY IS HE STILL THERE 😂??? It would be more believable if he was gone and only showed up couple times, but the fact that he's still there on the team, full-time, says it all.

Best modern Teen Titans is Geoff Johns once you get past Wolfman and Perez. When the title is done well, and the dynamics are there with Dick, Donna, Wally, etc you've got a really good well oiled team comic. It was too bad that basically through the 90's and early 2000's DC just didn't seem to care, like Marvel didn't with Avengers and Iron Man in the early 90's. It's a pretty basic formula to work with too. Like Avengers and JLA if you follow it you've got comic gold. You mess with it to the degree that it's unrecognizable and you've got sound of people walking by it on the rack as they pay no attention to it. And there is room for both Teen Titans and Titans, although I'd prefer Teen Titans myself. WTF20.;

I like that the Titans were able to move back to NYC and have the Titans Tower become the Titans Tunnel after knowing realizing that they can’t stay in Blüdhaven for the time being because of what happened in the Nightwing series. I also like that the Titans were talking about their own things before they were trying to save Shimmer and Mammoth from their powers. Also, Deathstroke reforming the Crime Syndicate. I wonder if we’ll get an explanation of how he was resurrected after Dark Crisis. Overall, this comic is okay.

You can always count on sites like ScreenRant or CBR to have a dumb take on something. Nightwing wasn't "dethroned", he willingly gave leadership to Wonder Girl. As for the book itself, I've read the first two issues and it's ok. A perfectly fine, middle-of-the-road comic book. I'll keep reading it.

Donna was a good leader in Pre-Flashpoint Era but this is a new universe and I know that Donna character was changed so much in latest decade so I don't know if this will work. In fact I dropped Titans book in early Taylor's run because was so boring. I believe that The Titans don't have a single good run in decades at this point. Adam Glass run was trash,made me hate Damian even more. The worst Teen Titans leader of all.

I been loving the All in titains stuff. Donna Troy was made from a random guy thinking a Girl on a Comic Book Cover was a Character and used Her not realizing that that was actually just a Younger Wonder Woman from a Wacky Silver Age Adventure (at if AT4W's description of Donna Troy is to be believed) and her problem was they keep trying to revise her backstory and not tell stories about her 'In The Now' and her history is a clusterfuck. So the SJWs just decided to make her a Girlboss because Why not she's been nearly everything else in her life. Dick Greyson has a loooonnnnnggggggg *11 YEARS* before he joins his Mentor Bruce in the Public Domain....

As many have stated, Donna being a leader isn't new or a bad idea but the execution here isn't great. Donna and Dick got along well before and here she especially has a chip on her shoulder concerning the Justice League being back. She has a point about some things like not having all heroes in one spot but also seems careless trying to prove the Titans, i.e. not accepting Red Tornado telling them who they were fighting. I agree about Taylor's run having no stakes and feeling boring as well as open for Layman having some internal conflict and not having everyone agree so easily. I want to wait and see how this goes and hope he doesn't lay on the constant bickering too thick which other runs have done. Also please no cardboard cutout supervillain Deathstroke. Also, I was a big fan of Pete Woods art when he drew for Tim's Robin series and the sole good thing about the first Amazons Attack series but here it seems...off. Also strongly disagree on no one reading the Titans for characters who aren't Dick or Wally, but DC doesn't seem to know what to do with them. Like I adore Wolfman's Raven and 03 Cartoon Raven but these days she's a bland goth girl just meant to date Beast Boy because "Opposites Attract" or "was popular in cartoon fandom."

I'm not too familiar with the comic book teen Titans, but I Heard they tried to mimick the RavenxBeast Boy ship from the Cartoon into the comics. Does It work there?

@xadalau9758 depends on who you ask but it's awkward for some comic fans given Raven originally was a very shy 18 year old and went to college when introduced and BB was 16, immature, pervy and shown interest in other female characters much more. There's also that the two barely interacted as friends with the most interaction before the cartoon was a thing when Raven went evil in the 90s and basically had BB possessed to be her demonic slave along with other Titans. Making them a couple tends to ignore that and so much of Raven's character development and other relationships (besides not being that close of friends at all originally, Raven had shippy moments and/or close bonds with just about everyone but BB) to make BB and BBRae seem like a bigger deal than it is which still goes on with current interactions, sometimes trying to just copy paste cartoon interactions or cartoon fanfic interactions. There's also a theory that it was less the cartoon's ship popularity but more than Geoff Johns (the comic writer who put them together) shipped them because BB was his favorite while Raven was his wife's favorite. To each their own, I never was a fan of this ship and just been tired of the writing.

Lmao, trying to Defund Nightwing from leadership of Teen Titans - is same as asking to remove Starlord from GotG, and we know how it usually ends, relaunch, flop fiesta, going back to originals, rinse and repeat. How come wokies still didn't understood that it pointless to try parasiting on based IP's - fans will reject mantle passing, reject inforced DEI changes, so most basic way would for them to go off and create their own woke ip like New New Warriors with internet gas and snowflake/safespace, but just not cancel it, publish it for LGBT gang and let them enjoy it, separation is needed.
