Pretty much any other year, either of these guys would have it in a landslide. I'd give it to Jeanty because I think he's been the best player at any position this year. But it's hard to argue that Hunter isn't more valuable since he plays both sides, either way it's the right decision, and the wrong one.

I think Jeanty has been more dominant at his position, and arguably the most dominate CFB running back since Barry Sanders. However, Travis simple plays more snaps and impacts the game more due to him being elite on the offensive and defensive end. My heart says Jeanty but my brain says Hunter. Either way these are two of the most exciting Heisman candidates this sport has seen in a minute

I completely disagree in terms of impact. I think if you swap Hunter and Jeanty, Colorado is in the playoff, and Boise isn’t. Jeanty’s greatness at RB is more impactful to winning than Hunter’s elite play on both sides. That is in large part due to position, so I can understand picking Hunter if you think it should focus on the best as opposed to most impactful player

How is snaps more valuable than attempts? Him lining up at WR is not that valuable, him catching it and picking up yards is the value. You’ll die on a hill arguing game snaps are a stat BS is a 4 win team without Jeanty and Colorado is still just a bowl team without Hunter. This isn’t an opinion, if you take away both guys TDs Boise State is technically a 4 win team and Colorados a 6 win team if we still count Hunters defensive plays like the forced fumble Hunter has another heisman, two receivers as good as him and much better team that still got curb stomped by decent unranked teams. He’s a unique player that has a chance to be the first ever two time HoF in the NFL which is cool, but right now they’re trying to force him on people in his developmental stage

I'm a second year student at CU, and its been such a privilege to watch Trav and Wester this season, watching the film of both jeanty and hunter have me wishing there were 2 heisman awards this year. But my biased take is that travis is a clear winner here, showing top 5 stats at both positions and #1 skill level for a wideout, its a insane package. I always tell people when debating about this that having a lack of stats as a corner is a good thing, there's a reason why "Revis Island" was so revered, so little stats (yards allowed, tackles and picks) was because no QB wants to throw their direction in a zone coverage, especially when trav is covering a hitch or a flat. If travis had 10-15 more targets as a DB this would be much more of a landslide, especially if he got more targets on the offense too. Shedeur had a lot of elite talents at his wideouts with D. Miler, O. Miller, L. Wester, W. Sheppard, and J. Horn Jr. This was an offense that needed to eat, and travis still got those top 5 stats while his peers on his sideline were also collecting TD's and multiple 100y games.

Jeanty's yards after contact alone is about 700 more than Travis's total receiving yards, and he has more than twice the touchdowns. If the Heisman is for the most outstanding player, than what's more outstanding than leading a successfully team and having having a historic season? Now, if it goes to Travis, I understand because you can't really go wrong with either, but I'd pick Jeanty.

We got 2 way players who were great. Chris Gamble for Ohio State went on to play 9 seasons for the Panthers from 2004 to 2012. Charles Woodson from Michigan has a gold jacket in Canton and in the College Football Hall of Fame. He was that special. Plus Charles Woodson is one of the few Heisman to win a national championship and a Super Bowl. The others are Reggie Bush, Tony Dorsett, and Marcus Allen. Jeanty could be that Travis Henry type of player that just keeps on running no matter how much you hit him. Speaking of Derrick Henry, he already has over 10,000 yards rushing in his career and he's not slowing down. Jeanty should be that 10,000 yard rusher if put on a team that puts in good offensive lines.

Jeanty has a case but it should go to Hunter for excelling on both sides of the ball. Many of the peeps saying that he shouldn't win it aren't actual football fans but people who are using this to exercise their personal prejudices and are attempting to gatekeep their ideas of how a successful black athlete should act. @GameBoi36 Not flawed at all to anybody who actually applies critical thinking. Certain people are resigned to the fact that a the top candidates for this award are all black athletes. Therefore type of person I'm describing has no problem picking the black athlete they see as being more humble even though this same person will defend any successful white athlete who exhibits the same confidence or boisterous type swagger that Hunter displays as compassionate. There are simply many agenda driven peeps who have infiltrated the lexicon of sports commentary in this current politically driven internet era who could care less about merit and care more about making a statement and cheer for an outcome simply because it reinforces they own heavily flawed belief system.

yea i dont have skin in the game, and i dont care who wins... hunter is a great player and hed win in any other year. his two way game is keeping him in the heisman discussion imho. but jeanty should win the award. he is the more impactful player, and he will be the better player at the next level too. hunter wont have the same impact at corner or receiver that jeanty will at rb. that being said, hunter will win the heisman. its a shame, both of these kids are special and deserve to win.

This is why they gave Jeanty the Maxwell for Most Outstanding College Football Player and gave Travis the Heisman for the same. So both got to go home with top awards. Most times the person that wins the Maxwell, also wins the Heisman but since they wanted to give both of these amazing players an award, they split it. That's like giving this actor the Golden Globe for best Actor and giving another actor the Academy Award for Best Actor. They're essentially the same award. This is the equivalent of that. So Jeanty still won.
