Wild horses are incredible. I met a rancher in Montana and talked to him about wild horses. He was telling me that some of his fellow peers have purchased BLM wild horses and that those horses are some of the most intelligent, hardy and fiercest horses he’s ever heard stories about. Their level of natural understanding and survival is on another level.

We made distance and was non eventful. We thought they were wild , but who knows. We got the message real quick that he was a bad ass and we were not. Back in the 1970's. I watched the video, the narrator explained that the two stallions were fighting over the small waterhole after the dark one had travelled 10 miles from the previous waterhole they had dried up. Because the white stallion refused to give up the waterhole he dominated over, the dark coloured one was determined to get his mares water so he challeneged the white one and ended up the victor. The dark one also ended up getting the white stallion's mares as well in the end.

Rick, I know you get gazillions of emails so I guess you missed the ones I sent you with links of various videos on stallions and of foals. One of the links was of this video that had the narration of what was going on. The white or grey stallion was controlling that particular watering hole. The dark brown stallion had a small herd of 14 mares. Their watering hole dried up so they walked 10 miles in the blazing heat (it was in Nevada I think) to get to this watering hole only to find out that another stallion was there. The brown stallion had the meek look about him because he was probably tired, thirsty, just wanting a cool drink of water and to relax with his mares. Now he realizes he's going to have to fight or lose his mares. I thought being tired from his walk the brown stallion conserved his energy by letting the other stallion keep kicking the air while he moved in close for bitting. The dark brown stallion becomes high horse after the grey stallion yields. In the end you can see that defeated look on the grey stallion. I like this video. I've watched it a few times.

Hi Rick from Greece. Thank you for the knowledge you share. The hooves that are shoed iron shoes are more deadly when kicking or not? I mean compared to natural hooves horses. Because I think animals tend to fight each other for practicing their skills on the other hand fights on a farm may be deadly more often perhaps? Best regards.
@victoriaolender62893 жыл бұрын
Metal shoes can be sharp and I've seen some pretty nasty cuts from shod horses who had kicked other horses. I think it's worse, the metal also makes the hoof heavier, which increases the amount of damage it can do.

Yes, that rider was exasperated and could feel her medal slipping away because she didn't have enough time to form a good working relationship with the horse she drew. Yes, she should have been expert enough to find another outlet for her frustrations. Or maybe the horse was just sick of the crap. However, a defensive punch in the Olympics is apparently worse than all those mouths tied shut, harsh bits, tongues pushing against the pain of bits, chins pulled in against the neck, jumps that are too high causing horses to land with heaps of pain, horses kept in isolation with no physical contact from their own kind, unable to experience natural herding behaviour, unable to move around as nature intended, etc. But say we did similar things to chickens. It would be called caged eggs which has been banned. But it's ok to treat horses like chattels, keep them in perpetual isolation, psychological and physical pain then force them to perform to their best day in day out with no relief.
