Your rooster is beautiful!! Friend of sweet husband's has a rooster and a few chickens. Sweet husband dropped by with our youngest son (he's 8). Rooster got after our little one, and he was understandably a little aggravated. Friend instructed our little one to get a stick and go after "that mean ol' rooster". So he did. Cue the Benny Hill theme music. Friend and sweet husband sat and laughed and laughed at our little boy and that rooster going round and round the mountain. That same friend fell off a ladder and messed himself up pretty bad. Sweet husband (being the sweetie he is) took it upon himself to take care of the chickens and gather the eggs for his friend. Coop was set up with nesting boxes on the inside, but a way to go in the back of each box to take the eggs without disturbing the chickens too much on the outside. Only problem is it's pretty much by feel as you can't see once you get your hand in the box. So, sweet husband is easing his hand into the box and that "mean 'ol rooster" is lying in wait and flogged his hand but good. (Made several pretty good punctures and about gave him a heart attack since he wasn't expecting it). Cue the Benny Hill theme music again....except this time it's my husband and that rooster going round and round the mountain. Yeah, I'd have paid good money to have seen that. :)

Buddy did step on the rope when you did not notice when you thought he did was like 2 minutes after. But he figured it out when he could not go forward. Buddy stopped. Leaned his head to his right to go that was but he could not. But he stopped. then leaned his head to the left to go that way (which there was enough rope for his to do so). When it did not stop him he continued and when he moved forward he took his food off the rope so he continued safely. Then you mentioned about him going to step on the rope like two minutes later. Buddy is a smart horse. And a relaxed one. He did not pull hard or freak out.

+Susan Gardiner all horses are smart, buddy has been allowed to learn and not smothered protected and locked in stalls and been never treated like a dumb horse that care for it self.

Think Like A Horse I am sorry on how I worded that. I know that all horses are smart, okay smarter then most handlers who do not understand them. I should have said that Buddy had impressed me with his calm reaction to that situation. Thank you so much for responding to my post. And you are right too many horses are kept in stalls and not allowed out to exercise and be horses which does lead to bad behaviors that will go away if they are allowed freedom. Amazed on how many people just do not understand that.

Handsome rooster. Grew up with chickens, the rooster chased everyone but myfearless Grandmother. He respected her. Funny to watch him do his thing to theunsuspecting neighborhood kids as they crossed through our property to walk toschool. Too many massacres over the years from foxes. :( Not good to have towake up to. The hens were loving, sitting on your shoulder, kinda talking to you,I remember. Good memories! Nice that you gave of your time in Ok. :)

Hey Rick, Buddy and Mr.T Rick as you know i don't own any horses and never have so i am going to ask a stupid question (i guess i could of googled it) anyway what exactly is "sacking out" is it just another name for training? Also you brought it up. Yea its your shorts bro they are short by a inch or two ha ha ha man those must of been in the back of one of your drawers since the 80s ha ha ha ha but ya know honestly you still rock them shorts pretty damn good. You also touch on watching or spending time with horse is therapeutic thats probably why i like your horse Chanel so much plus you speak the truth about stupid humans. Horses are really cool to watch. I never really realized that until i started watching your Chanel. I have always thought they are cool animals but you Buddy and Mr.T really gave me a whole new appreciation towards all horses. Its hard for me to explain....
@wishywashy24889 жыл бұрын
+Ron D. Kosanke Yea guess you could have googled it xD Sacking out basically means to get a horse used to something. Horses are flight animals and sacking out is where you teach them it's okay to be afraid of something, but it's easier to do something else than run away from it. Ever seen a person wave a flag or tarp around a horse? You are teaching the horse that they can be afraid of it, since fear is what keeps them alive in the wild, they don't go waltzing up to a predator all curious, they see it and run. But when you sack out, you are teaching the horse that the scary tarp isn't going to hurt them and it'll pay off for them not to run and just hang out, if they run, they'll have to work and get all worked up and the tarp doesn't chase them or claw or bite them so running doesn't do anything in that case and they learn "Hey, this isn't so bad. Guess I don't have to run and get tired."
