I got monetized in 60 days. The 4000 WT hours was the hardest. Then, I started working on a digital product to help people more... I burned out immediately. I realized I can't spread my focus too thin. I've put together a plan where I return to my channel soon and finish my digital product with more balance. You need to take care of yourself so this does not happen to you! Balance is key.

I got monetized in 26 days and my first payment was deposited in my bank account today. I must be honest I don’t know how or why it happened. 3 of my first 5 videos have sort of blown up and are pretty amateurish. I was just doing it for fun. I used old pics and vids saved on my iPhone SE. Some were 5 years old. Also edited with CapCut on my iPhone. I retired this year so I guess I now have a new venture. My 91 year old father went into hospice and died one month ago today so I haven’t had a chance to do anymore videos yet. I’ve had a channel for years but didn’t do anything with it. I’m approaching a half million views in the 75 days since my first long form video. Still don’t know how it happened but here I am!

Took me 3 months to get monetized. My first week being monetized I was generating $70 a day on my shorts content. No long form yet. It's looking like it'll be around $2100 my first month. I'm pushing out 3-4 shorts per week of outdoor related content. It's not easy but I also come from a background of photography and cinematography. Shooting with a Canon C70 and 18-80 lens. Sennheiser 416 mic. I also do it solo. My wife tries to motivate me every day to push harder.

This information honestly excites me. It's like a blueprint. If you're good with making $60,000 a year from youtube this video gave you several key action steps to align with. Start with one. Make them milestones. The money is out there. Just takes some strategic effort and patience. 18 months isn't bad. I'm in! At the beginning of this month I decided to go all in with KZbin and just work on posting and learning. I've posted 1 video a day while creating my strategy and plan. I already have a business so I am home all the time. When I am not working with clients I'm creating content like my livelihood depends on it. I'm a nanny for my sister who will have another baby in July. I desire to be the rich auntie.. lol! Honestly, I want to be able to do more for my family. So I said I'm going all in on KZbin. Let's see where I am in 18 months.

I’m not anywhere close to those stats but I am doing all 5 things at some level. I’m only posting once a week since October. I want to post twice but I can’t, yet. I do feel that I have knowledge in my industry that can set me apart from many other fitness KZbinrs, but for now I have to be happy with what I’m doing until I get monetized. Based on my growth since October 2023 (when I decided to take this seriously), I have about another 6 months to go before I’ll get 3000 watch hours. Probably 8-10 months for the 4000 watch hours. I am tracking my traffic and happy with my efforts in step 5, seeing that my training plans on TrainingPeaks is #3 on the list for where most my traffic is coming from. Trying to make this a career is not easy and it definitely requires a dedicated entrepreneurial mindset and intentional efforts put forth towards your goals. And a hell of a lot of patience. Being realistic is also key. I want to do so much but I will crash and burn if I try. And I am NOT going to sacrifice my active lifestyle and mental health to make this work. It’s gotta be part of the process, as KZbin couldn’t pay me enough to do that. But I will stay up late once in a while to make sure I stay consistent with my weekly video release. 😂 Good luck to all the teeny tiny channels like me working hard to grow. Keep your chin up, mind on your goals, and don’t quit. We got this! 👊

Great video, I have 145 videos 2 videos a week consistent. I'm at 627 subs and I'm 16 months in. It takes time and patience, hard work. I literally love what I do and that is what keeps me driven. I spend 3 hours a day working on my channel editing, and preparing for my next content. I work on my channel a hour on my full time job, then i split the other 2 hours at home. This is my everyday plan. I don't concern with how long it's going to take to get monetized. My concern is to bring good content, to gain an audience, a community and the rest will fall in place.

Thanks a lot! Some notes : 1.having a niche 2.good content (educational, entertaining, inspirational) for your audience + get them engaged. Vidéo concise, good script, organised script, eye contact 3.the hook (1st few seconds : show what they came to see, raison to see) , title, thumbnail (minimal, big, easy to see content) '' what I am missing by not watching this video'' 4.be strategic : do research, use vidIQ, stats/data, create system : post 1 video / week, organise yourself 5.mindset : get ready to learn and grow slowly.use affiliate links before having adsens. You're crazy before to be successful then you're a genius 6.just do it, no matter your equipment

I've been creating content on KZbin for almost a year and have yet to earn my first dollar. I'm currently at 53 videos, 162 subscribers, and nearly 50 watch hours, but I made some errors early on and recently. I reframed it about 2 weeks ago on my channel but I'm now skeptical about whether I messed with the algorithm too much. A part of me agrees with that year-and-a-half timeline, but I'd like to believe it all comes down to your prior reasons for starting a KZbin channel, positioning it the right way so the algorithm can serve you, being consistent in uploading, and fully studying what you're doing/learning from other people. Having said that, it depends on the time and quality you are putting into creating and learning. Thank you for your advice and for being one of many lights in this rollercoaster life of a world we live in. I applaud the video where Nolan talked about setting up your KZbin description to get more views and potentially more money. I've made a couple changes to my videos (I've yet to tackle the rest) and my views have gone up! May God continually bless you and those around you!😃🙏

According to this, I guess this is my job. I always thought of it in reverse; I've been a Professional Organizer (so, consultant) for 23 years. 12 years ago I started my YT channel, 10+ years after I was up and running. 2 years ago I totally abandoned YT because I was too busy to create. I'm ramping it up again now with a lot more focus and clarity. Now my focus is to grow my email list to build the online coaching part of my business. At the height of my channel 5ish years ago, it was SO good for business, resulting in me getting flown around the country to consult. I'm so excited to be back in the game! Your channel is pure gold.

I am 1 month in and working this as my job, it's what I do now. I do think that the startup cost is a little overstated, depending on what you buy. I would add that don't mess around with fancy cameras & lenses - I spent too much time on that - an iPhone has a quality camera and will do just fine. If you take this video and then combine it with some of Hormozi's stuff, it can help growth (it's what I'm doing).

I have just over 4 months of publishing content. I had a video go viral and gain me about 14.5 k subs in about a month and still climbing. I have a very niche focus. Off grid gringo building tree houses in Mexico.. That wasn't quite enough though, once I switched to the same content in Spanish, it went wild. Now I only post videos in Spanish. After the first video went viral I hustled to pump out content in Spanish. It has been very well received... Due to the fact that I live off grid in Mexico, the money I've earned from those videos is enough to last a long time... I celebrated and went to the beach, but now it is time to dive in again and focus on it as.. a job... . Luckily this lifestyle affords me the time to edit, record, study, etc. I understand that this is a luxury not available to most, but I can tell that it is going to require more attention if I really want to count on this.

I was at 150 subs and reached 225 today, which isn’t a lot by any means, but at least I’m seeing the hard work pay off. I know I’m doing these videos for the right reason because I know there is someone on the other side of the screen that has been dreaming for decades of buying there dream Rv and taking that dream trip with the family, but the daunting landscape of all the different options out there makes it hard to make the jump. The more I post the more I know they are getting an honest look at what’s out there. I also really really enjoy making these videos and learning cool new ways to edit them. Fingers crossed I keep the consistency and momentum. I’ll come back to this video periodically and see how much I’ve grown🙏🏼

I ended up calling a heavy music website. KZbin was/is our week link. The first few years, it was neglected. Until I came in and started and Started to make interview videos and other things. We've been around a good 12 years at this point but our KZbin does not reflect such growth. Currently sitting around 4800. 158 was our last payout 🤷🏾‍♂️ but at least we're rocking 950,000 in WHs🖤🤘🏾

With time, clarity and focus, full-time income can be achieved in 6 months. But that's comes only after a long time of learning and planning. I've been already creating content for 4 years, and only now I have a clear idea what I'm doing.

@EcomCarl I just looked at your channel and was surprised to see that you have over 300 videos. You should be monetized by now. Why not change from targeting Facebook to KZbin. I've seen channels blow up with less than 45 videos all because they target persons who wants to grow on KZbin. Just a little suggestion.

I've been creating casually for almost 9 years now, but I only got serious and targeted about two months ago. I've had a blog, KZbin channel, and a podcast. Today I'm focusing mostly on KZbin with some Tiktok, but KZbin has performed so much better for me than Tiktok. I made my first dollar around two years ago through Buy Me a Coffee.

Depends on the niche and if you manage to take off. We are in the travel vlog segment. We have friends who started about 3 years ago and are making 6 figures a year traveling full time. We know others, who can't make much at all. We've been putting out content seriously for 3 months. Very shortly we will pass the 1000 subs and 4000 watch hours. It is not difficult if you make good content and are an interesting personality. For those who keep at it and aren't getting traffic or views... who knows. Either the nature of your content is not interesting to viewers or something. Not everyone has a personality to bring in viewers and subs, this is like TV.

Great podcast, thanks for the metrics and tips! I'm retired military and I started a Military History / Military Fiction channel, currently @2K subs. The monetization reqs. seem difficult, the watch time hours in particular, it doesn't seem like I'll ever get to the 3K watch hours. At this point, I'm focusing on building a community and tieing in other platforms, primarily my website, I am seeing that you cannot depend solely on YT, there are simply too many variables, diversify your approach, just like you do with investments....thats my strategy.

I am about 2 years in. 122k subs. I got monetized in about 45 days and was earning profit in ~4 months. Last year the channel grossed ~$46K but I’ve been stuck right around the same monthly income for several months now. This a side hustle for me, but I put in probably 15-20 hours a week. Looking to diversify revenue streams in the hope of making it a full time gig in the next 1-2 years 👍🏻

This was super helpful. I just started my channel last week. My third video will go out tomorrow morning. I've run two small businesses, and this will be my third. 18 months seems right- if not maybe optimistic for replacing your income. I've been hosting neighborhood soup nights at my house for many years, and now I'm just hoping to find the people who are wanting to host their neighbors and don't know where to start. It's been great for our neighborhood, and I'd love to empower others to bring soup night to their neighborhood. Anyhow, thank you for this. I'm signed up for one of your classes next week.

It can take 1000s of hours of unpaid work before being monetised. Have different revenue streams- adsense doesn't pay much. Build a community, email list and have a business strategy- there is a wealth of free advice by creators on YT about this. Good luck everyone, with every start up business no matter what you will have to work A LOT of unpaid hours!

3 weeks ago I decided to create contents on my specific niche and gained almost 100k views and 6.5K public watch hour from 4 videos. Now im eligible for monetization, but i'm not sure if i should go for it, as i'm afraid having ads on my videos will push viewers away. My long term goal is to gain sponsorship from external brands, as this pays way higher than KZbin itself. Should I signup for adsense anyways or keep my videos adfree and aim for my long term goal instead?

I find this very insightful, though I have a much shorter timeline envisioned for myself as I plan to launch a channel in the next 2 months. I think the tips to "think like an entrepreneur" and to "plan your monetization strategy" are key in this, because focusing on ad revenue means waiting and hoping for views, whereas immediately having multiple streams takes some pressure off of "hitting the numbers" every video. For example, my streams income streams, from day 1, will be affiliate marketing and print-on-demand products. Also, having a traffic strategy is a bonus, because using other platforms to increase exposure accelerates things outside of algorithm performance. Syndication anyone? (Thank you Think Media (and Gary V) for the concise word for it.) Thank you for the video! My belief is this: Growing a channel fast can be challenging, but with consistency, growth is natural. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Play the long game and stay the course.

Wow, this video is a goldmine for content creators! 🤯💎 "It takes about 18 months, a year and a half, before going full-time" - This line really struck a chord with me. It puts things into perspective and reminds us of the importance of patience and perseverance. 💪 I love how you broke down the Tilt report. These figures are fascinating, especially the average of 4,000 followers for a full-time creator. It proves you don't need a million subscribers to succeed! 🎉 Question for the community: Where are you in your creator journey? Are you surprised by these numbers? Thanks Sean for this valuable info! Your content is always so relevant and motivating. Don't forget, friends, if you enjoyed this video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to stay in the loop! 👍🔔
