Thanks for your video, I tested it on T570 and it works. Most of the time people get SSD with only M key type, but it should be B+M key type SSD as shown in the video. Gr8 help dear, thanks.

The T570's have problems with the Sata Connector on the Motherboard. We have had many problems with them and have switched some to boot from the M.2 slot.

I did the same for a couple and ended up replacing the entire motherboard for a couple more. Four laptops out of about 15 or 20 I went through. Purchasing T570's now gives me anxiety, haha.

Hello. I have the same computer and the same problem : The 2.5" SSD was no longer recognized. I found on the motherboard that the female connector for the ribbon cable was no longer soldered correctly. This is a problem apparently very common on this model.

I had this problem with two T570's and it's really too bad. Just one component can cause such a big problem. I am not so talented with soldering or repairing motherboards, so I replaced them. Good luck with yours!

Yes, I can confirm this 100%. After many hours of head scratching, I poked around that female ribbon connector on the motherboard and some of the pins were not soldered securely to the board. I reflowed the pins and what do ya know, the computer now recognizes the drive! If one is going to attempt this, be damn sure you have magnification because those pins are .5mm spaced and will bridge quite easily. Cripes!!!

I had the same issue in my T570 but i fixed soldering the connector attach to the motherboard that was loose , but the technician told me may can fail again, so i was thinking to do this upgrade. It´s a little bit sad because those SSD m2 are more expensive than a regular SSD 2.5 and i have a 1TB WD Blue and still works as day one

I just tried every screw driver I can find but cannot seem to be able to open the screw to remove to fit the Ssd in that slot. Is there any specific one I need to use? Just to be clear, I was able to remove the back panel and found the slot next to the wwan card

It just requires a phillips head screwdriver. The one you used to open up the bottom panel should work fine. Is the screw stripped? So you have a WWAN card installed? Or do you mean the m.2 WiFi card?

I have the same issue with my t580. That ribbon cable for the motherboard is trash. The female motherboard connector is poorly connected and gets dislocated easily. Good thing it has two drive slots but mine is b key and it's really hard to find

That would be for connecting to wireless networks, like a cel phone, to my knowledge. If you take that out and install an m.2 2242 SSD like in this video you can use it. I assume the port is enabled in bios if there is a wwan card installed.

Yes, but not every model allows for an SSD to be installed in the port, so search up "psref" with anything you are looking at for specifications.

I have used Transcend a handful of times and they have been good. Kingspec I see all over the Marketplace of popular retailers like NewEgg or eBay. I have never tried their product, though. Not aware of a Transcend store on Aliexpress.

Also here with the issue that nvme ssd via ribbon cable to legacy 2.5" hdd slot results with SSD not being detectable in BIOS, Diagnostics. Have you found the solution maybe?

Well, it seemed to be specific to this laptop in the video as I was able to test the same caddy with the same cable attached in a different T570 and it was detected. So, for the time being it will just have this m.2 SSD installed until I either sell it this way or find a solution. Unfortunately no solution yet. If you find one let me know!

Unfortunately the T560 does not support a m.2 SSD in the WWAN port. You could try running Windows/linux in a virtual machine.

@@crazyyt2099 In the T560 there will either be a SATA 2.5" caddy or NVMe adapter. The extra m.2 WWAN port does not support 2242 m.2 SATA III SSD's like other models. So, you have the choice of one drive only.

I installed a Transcend 430 SATA SSD into the WWAN slot of a T450s. Worked fine, Win 11 Rufus installed fine. But it has the disconnect problem. Same in Win 10. Did all the online fixes, no good. I'm guessing it's either overheating, or the slot isn't designed to give 1.5 amps. I'm not going to install a hot SSD under the battery in that slot. Has anybody made one work without disconnecting?

Maybe your Windows ISO was a corrupted bro. Or u can set in to system NTFS or FAT32 when onto Rufus. I had faces same problem, but Im sure forget how to fixed, Sorry my bad english
