Absolutely! I purchased a NIB X250 for my Mom about 5yrs ago, and she's not had any issues with it. Great little machines! In fact, I've owned my T450 for 6yrs now and only had to replace the battery twice on it. Lenovo makes incredible laptops albeit I have not worked with any of the newer ones after the T470 as the last two companies I have worked for were Dell shops. My current work laptop is a DELL Precision 5570, and it's nice; however, none of the newer laptops compare to the old-school Lenovo 7 row keyboard models. Those will always have a place in my heart.

You forgot to disconnect the battery, this is important because it can lead to short circuit if you make a mistake connecting the screen cable.

Yes, you are correct, and I apologize for not including this valuable information in the video. This can be turned off within the BIOS, or manually disconnected after removing the back surface cover to access the internal battery.

Do we really need to use the double sided tape? As previously there's none in the original casing?

No, it's definitely not needed, nor required; however, because plastic is malleable, the LCD bezel is likely to not retain it's original shape from the factory after being removed a couple times, thus resulting in an aesthetically displeasing gap. The double sided tape ensures the aesthetic quality remains.

You should not have any issues at all as long as you choose an LCD from Lenovo's compatible X250 parts list which can be found in the link below. I have also linked the LCD I chose within the description. download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/x250_frubom_20160106.pdf

I broke two of seven plastic retainers on the top of the bezel. Use his style of putting fingers under the bezel from the side where the screen is.

The hooks on the bezel release by pushing the bezel toward the center of the screen, not upward.

Hello, I forgot to use a nylon tool, i think there was a short circuit because the new lcd does not work. :( Now the pc only works with an external screen! Do you know what could have burned? or do you have an electrical schematic for the x250? Thank you very much

I am very sorry to hear about that! The nylon tool is just a procautionary measure to mitigate any damage; however, I too have replaced many LCD screens without having one available. Unfortunately, I do not have access to any electrical schematics for the X250, but you may find help by contacting Lenovo directly, or the LCD manufacturer although I wouldn't be surprised if you searched online it's possible you may come across one. Again, I am very sorry to hear about the mishap. Even working as a professional technician for many years in IT, I've certainly encountered my share as well. Please do not let this discourage you. Continue learning and chalk it up as tuition paid for experience gained.

Honestly, it should, but I cannot guarantee 100%. I would recommend getting the P/N of the LCD, and then I can help you research it. This video was only for Lenovo Thinkpad X240 - X260 laptops. Honestly, this would help out many other people who might ask this same question as well.

@@techoasys Okay, I can surmise. The smart card reader is the same but the cable for X270 is different compare to X250. The same with LTE card, it doesn't allow you to have LTE from X250. The screen from X250 on X270 works perfectly, it's even brighter than IPS panels that came originally with X270. Thanks a lot for your manual. I would be able to do it without you. Take care

Yes, the LCD bezel can be removed in the same manner. Lenovo did not change much between the x240-x270 chassis.
