(spoilers) in the end, hannah has deja vu and talks about how there is a silent, nothing-less world with no pain or suffering, where everything is just completely and utterly dark. this world is adam's "paradise" that he desperately wants to achieve. so the name "dark" is basically referring to the paradise world of nothing.
@joeymerk24704 жыл бұрын
And also Dark for dark matter. Basically what the wormhole is made of.

Also maybe- referring to Genesis, when before the world was created there was only darkness, and the origin world was the metaphorical darkness before the split world was created. @Digger-Nick4 жыл бұрын
@@Aqua-tx9jy There are several theories I think. The chair was used as a calibration device to lead up to the design for the handheld time travel devices. It needed test subjects. The test subjects also played a role on the story. If Yasin stayed alive, Elizabeth would most likely never have been alone with Noah. If Mads stayed alive, Regina may never have met Aleksander, which means the apocalypse never triggers and if Erik was still alive, the kids never would have went to the caves to look for his drug stash and the entire Nielson family wouldn't exist, but they do exist. It happened because it had to happen just like it always happened. Another bootstrap paradox I suppose. Likely because unlike classic episode shows like STNG this ones script was finished from the very beginning. Otherwise you will struggle to create a story that truly makes sense within such a complex nature and you won’t be able to create such lovely details. The downside of it (from a producers point of view) is of course that it limits the show from the very beginning to a set piece of seasons while other shows such as Lost, Voyager or Game of Thrones where granted new seasons as long as people were hooked with it and producers finally decide to come to an end.

Oh My God you're right. Even if Tannhause from the corrected origin world never builds the time machine and never knows that he once built one, his goal was accomplished. He saved his family by building a time machine. Even though it was Jonas and Martha who made it happen and he didn't do anything beside building the time machine and spliting reality creating the two wrong worlds that would eventually be corrected by saving his family therefore achieving his goal. Mind blowing indeed.
@AmarezMusic4 жыл бұрын
So technically, the origin world was destroyed when Tannhaus activated his time machine, but then this event was literally reversed when Martha and Jonas arrived at the origin world. Tannhaus indirectly turned back time of the origin world by allowing travelers from the 2 new worlds interfere with the origin's timeline. Mind blown indeed. To add to this, maybe the origin world has 2 outcomes/timelines because of Schrodinger's cat. One outcome is the invention of the time machine, which ultimately leads to the destruction of the origin world. And the other outcome is the time machine not existing at all, which saves the origin world. Maybe the origin world was actually destroyed in one timeline, and not in the other. This is possible because when Tannhaus activated his machine, this was the same time at which the 'loophole' or 'junction' was created in the knot. This 'loophole' allowed for 2 outcomes; 2 possibilities of which leads to a world's fate. The origin world is included in this paradox because the time machine is literally part of the loophole, of which a nanosecond is only required to split an outcome. Jonas's and Martha's presence truly used the full advantage of the loophole to allow the origin world to split into its alternate fate: not being destroyed at all.

Here are two important points (at least I feel like worth mentioning): 1. The day in origin world, that Tannhaus activates his machine and creates the split worlds, is the same day in which the Unknown causes the accidents in both powerplants that lead to the barrels full of waste that fuel the time machines and are the source for the god particle (June 1986). Which is the reason the Unknown made sure the plant got build and he killed Bernd Doppler and the secretary for: to get the masterkey and the blueprints of the volume control unit which is the cause of the "Accident" 2. The show kind of gives away its purpose early in Season 3, as 1822-Tannhaus, when telling the story about bringing his wife back to life is almost the same motivation as Origin World Tannhaus and his reason for building his machine. 1822 Tannhaus even founds the society "Sic mundus creatus est", telling us that the worlds were created because Tannhaus wanted to bring someone back from the dead. As a nice mention, Jonas tells Charlotte in Season 1, in order to bring one back from the dead, you need to get them while they are still alive (which is what he and Martha do when preventing the accident of Marek and his family. Also Marek calls the 2 "angels", and when Jonas is shot by Alt-Martha he lies on the floor with the family trees branching out and they form the image of angel wings growing from his shoulders.

One thing which I personally noticed (and was the best thing for me in the entire series), but didn't saw elsewhere is that in the season 3 when Jonas is trying to kill himself, but saved by Noah. Noah tells him that it's impossible for Jonas to die now as eventually he'll turn into Adam. He demonstrates it by handing Jonas the gun and when he tries to shoot himself, the bullet never comes out. But when Noah points it elsewhere and pulls the trigger, the bullet is shot. At first, it felt like a supernatural activity, but it was a beautiful rationality. When Jonas shot the gun, he pulled the trigger exactly 5 times, which means that the gun had only one bullet which got shot by Noah🤯 The timeline couldn't change and they did that very logically 👏👏

That's brilliant! Thanks for explaining that. I thought the several scenes where the the gun did no't fire was one of those "ex machina" narrative devices, but no it's really as you explained. Genius writers!
@jdksdj11 Жыл бұрын
The model he used doesn't work like that. It doesn't matter if a magazine have 1 or 10 rounds in it. The reason the pistol keeps jamming is explained by quantum suicide and immortality thought experiment. Jonas needs to live to become Adam in the future so every time he pulls the trigger a reality is split into 2. In 1st one pistol jams and Jonas is alive and in 2nd he dies. We don't see timelines in which he dies, bcs they can't exist.
@1ofmystories Жыл бұрын
And yet, so many years later Noah seems to have forgotten his own advice and tries to kill Adam. The gun doesn't go off there either. Then Agnes comes in and it goes off. That's my favorite part about it. Not just Noah saving Jonas, but then Noah trying to kill Jonas and it fails.

There are somethings wrong in your explanation, for instance: @ 4:58 you say Noah finds out that Charlotte is his daughter which is a completely wrong inference. He knew from the beginning that Charlotte is his daughter. His reaction of surprise and anger was because after reading what was written in those missing pages he realized that he was lied to by Adam about who kidnapped his daughter in 2041 ( Adam put the blame on Claudia because 2041 Noah already suspected Claudia of being shady whereas Adam himself devise the plan of BABY Charlotte's kidnapping with the help of MadMaX Elizabeth and Older Charlotte )

You're right, there's nothing pointing to Noah not knowing Bartosz is his father, he's just a fanatic. In fact, Noah is the one who guides Bartosz in season 1, it's a clear theme of the series for adult offspring to guide their young parents. And then there's Charlotte and Elisabeth...

Among the million other reasons i absolutly love this series, i love how it all happens in the same town which people have lived in for generations. I mean it would be amazing to travel back in time to see your parents as young teens and your ancestors alive.
@Denz27994 жыл бұрын
I remember that Bartozs, Magnus and Martha are swimming in the lake in 2019 during that one scene in season 3. Bartoszs tells Martha this old scary story of a dead woman lying at the bottom of the lake waiting to grab onto your ankles and pull you down to the bottom to drown you. And then realising Katerina's mother kills her and decides to hide her at the bottom of that same lake in 1987. So that must be the origin of that ghost story.

15:57 When I was watching this last scene for the first time .... I thought Jonas and Martha would suddenly appear in the middle of the road, "CAUSING" H.G. Tannhaus's family accident. Jonas & Martha would be the ones to start the loop-a loop that would never end. That would have been an interesting ending too.

Storyline is FLAWLESS. I can’t find any loopholes despite how complex the story is. Casting is SUPERB. Ending is SATISFYING. I also didn't wanted to see a loophole in this but i think there's a mistake that in S1 when Mikkel reaches to Egon then Egon is already investigating the Rape case accusation of Ulrich & in that report the witness is written as HANNAH KAHNWALD & not Hannah Krüger. Why !! This can't be a mistake 😩🌚😭. Or is it because it's a corruptive set of world just like Eve's world which was created by Origin world? So can it be explained by a glitch in the matrix?

The Switch Point is the loophole. The part where the infinity cycle is broken, where time stood still. Meh. The writers took advantage of that. The character took advantage of that too. You can retcon anything in that. I feel robbed of the ending. MCU explained it better, there should be another timeline created but in Dark they're still in the same cycle. Quantum Entanglement. Meh. No wonder they said something about a bootleg paradox. This is a bootleg paradox after all.

(im bad with names, binge watched the series) Now that i think about it, the reference about the elephant, that one person can only see one side and not realize that its an elephant, but it needs 3 people to see all angles to tell its one, is a refference as to the Schrödinger's cat too. Because as time travelers, they are both seeing the elephant from 3 angles (past, present, future), but at the same time, they're only one person who see one angle only.
