Stormfront and Soldier Boy were the first people to receive doses of Compound V, and they both received it as adults. All of the supes that have been injected with Compound V since them, seem to age normally. Some people seem to think that Black Noir didn't age either, but I don't necessarily agree. I think his body aged somewhat normally, and he's still spry and powerful due to his powers.

That scene of Homelander guessing what Firecracker ate by the taste of her milk is interesting. Because most drugs also transfer through breast milk. Sage knew about Homelander's milk obsession, she made a joke about Ashley breastfeeding Homelander. Maybe Sage clued Firecracker in on the milk thing because she wanted Firecracker to take the drugs so the drugs could get into Homelander. Would those drugs also affect Homelander's heart? Plus any drugs that would cause women to lactate would probably affect their mood and hormones. Sage was really on board with Homelander's Caesar comparison and Caesar was assassinated.

Queen Maeve lost her powers due to Soldier Boy's blast. Given that she hardly survived the fall herself, and all of the Compound V was burned out of her body, I doubt a fetus would have survived or be harboring powers. I doubt she will want to restore her powers or return to the frontlines against Homelander, as she made it clear she wanted to live a peaceful life with Elena. However, given how dire the situation is, maybe she will. Her reappearance in the show may not be a dramatic one. Speaking of Soldier Boy, I'm very curious to see how Homelander will emotionally deal with his presence. He looked sad but also awestruck when he discovered his body at the end of the finale. Soldier Boy and Ryan will definitely be wildcards in the final season.

Homelander is still not president, Calhoun is. But Homelander is more or less the de facto leader of the country. Homelander, Neuman, and their constituents kept discussing the 25th Amendment, as it provides guidelines to the order of succession if the president is incapacitated. It goes from president, to vice-president, to speaker of the House of Representatives. Calhoun was the Speaker of the House, so he became president when Neuman died and Singer was arrested. He publicly pledged his allegiance to Homelander, so Homelander is more or less in charge, just not on paper.

It would make no sense from a writing perspective. Homelander and Hughie have no personal beef or history with each other. This would be the same as Arya killing the Night King in GoT, which actually happened and everyone expressed how retarded that was. You only get a cheap subversion of expectations at the expense of good writing. The one that would make the most sense to kill Homelander is Butcher.

Oh 100%! I like to think some of that story she told Neuman about herself was true and if it is? Homelander might be her Trojan horse of sorts. Homelander is too unstable to sustain an empire and Sage acknowledges that about him. It’s likely she only helped him to watch him implode essentially and take everyone else in power, super or political, with him.

The only thing I know is that Sage is 100% having the last laugh by the end of the series. She is neither on Homelander’s side or The Boys’ side. She only pretends to have identity. While this is all a game to cure her boredom, I am sure she has her own ulterior motives in the long run. She will die by the very end of the series, but with her goal realized as she won the war.

For season 5, I hope for a good plot involving Soldier Boy, Butcher, and Homelander. They need to resolve their issues. Soldier Boy will wake up, but I imagine he will be more calculating and cautious, playing along with Homelander. It will be uncertain whether he will ally with him, betray him, or seek revenge on Butcher. On the other hand, Homelander will be more cautious and will listen more to Sage, who is like his most effective weapon. Once he discovers that Butcher has the virus and also superpowers, he will try to stay away. Maybe the virus will leave him dying; it's uncertain. In the end, Homelander might end up dead from the virus or by Ryan (who will seek revenge on his father) or powerless due to Soldier Boy. I think we will see Homelander's cowardly side next season. As for Ashley, we will see if she takes revenge on The Deep or tells Homelander the truth without fear. There could be a good plot there, and I think she will ally with The Boys. A-Train might die next season, though it will likely happen in an unexpected or heroic way to avoid being predictable. Maybe Black Noir or Deep will kill him. I think Starlight will survive in the end. I imagine she will become the leader of The Boys, and if she dies, it will be in a heroic manner, saving Hughie or something like that. I also imagine she will be responsible for freeing the other imprisoned boys. As for Hughie, I'm not sure, but I imagine there will be a good plot between him and Butcher, and in the end, Butcher's evil side might take over, and Hughie will have to kill him.

I like your ideas and the idea of Hughie killing Butcher for the greater good. It would be an intensely emotional moment for Hughie that could foundationally change him and render him more like Butcher. But I also really like the idea of Butcher and Homelander both losing their powers due to SB. Then w/o powers Homelander is just a vulnerable, fragile person. Homelander will then proceed to cry and grovel in a fit of mania as he is brutally beaten to death by butcher. I really feel like this is a route Kripke may choose to take as well. Take away everything someone has and they show you who they really are sorta thing. I do foresee Kripke portraying Homelander in such a way. Maybe we even see Homelander atone for acts and beg forgiveness; a futile strategy when dealing with Butcher.

Love this article, but would SB side with him? I mean he was a soldier, also an absolute d-bag but his moral compass was never horrible like homelander. He had a few scenes of being empathetic too, talking about what his father said to him and wanting kids of his own. Lot of variables of his story can go a lot of ways. I like the idea of his statue being raised again as a hero.

Butcher releases the virus but Ryan survives because at some point Soldier Boy de-powers him (out of spite for Ryan lasering SB in the S3 fight) meaning Ryan is no longer a Supe and the virus doesn’t affect him.

One theory I have that interests me a bit, is the possibility of Maeve and Sage working together off screen. Possibly A train as well. I always thought Maeve’s dissapearance made sense, seeing as she wanted to protect her partner and start over, but there was no official send off really. Just more of a see you guys later. Plus, sage’s book has photo art of Maeve, and we know she’s wanted to get back at homelander for some time now. It also has been panned at by the camera twice now, showing it has some real significance. It would be a cool ass twist to see them working together to destroy homelander from the inside, by someone he fully trusts now. Just my two cents!

Sage was the worst character of this season by far. If she really was this smart and smart enough to predict all things that happened, including butcher's parasite killing Neuman, then why wouldn't she just use her brains to do everything the other way around? A smart person with regenerative brain would also have a high EQ and would use her abilities for actually improving the standard of living for themselves, aiming for scientific development and eradication of social issues like racism (something she herself mentioned as a huge pet peeve for her). Fact is that show's writers aren't smart enough to write about the character who actually truly is the smartest person on earth. Just adding a line that "I can cure cancer in 3 days" doesn't really justify what the most intelligent person with that kind of a regenerative brain would truly be capable of. Heck, if I had those brains, I would be creating a version of compound V that would make me the strongest Supe, defeat Homelander, and then rule the world with a very comprehensive rulebook. Sage is an insult as a representation for the "smartest person alive". L and Light from Death Note were 1000x smarter and well written.

My crackpot theory: While Homelander and Sage continue their master plan for the world, with some of the boys in the prisoncamps, majority of the development will be very external. Starlight will definitely be planning an insurgence made up of a group of unregistered supes as part of the resistance. Im guessing that there will be a timeskip by Season 5. She wil then find Stan Edgar, who I personally believe will be insanely instrumental in their plans, cant really pinpoint how, but I just always had the feeling that Edgar is the type to have numerous contingencies in place for super powered beings. Whatever they are, we'll see them soon. In the world, upon seeing a supe like Homelander take such a high position of power, we'll probably have a similar scenario in the comics where the military had their own contingencies in place to combat the supes, weapons capable of killing supes and the sort and will keep it on standby until a full out war occurs. Something that Sage will definitely try to avoid. On Butchers side, I believe that he will be hunting down supes one by one and killing them, then injecting them with the virus to increase the strength of the strain until its potent enough to kill Homelander, thus Killing every supe on earth. Butcher will definitely go down the path of Genocide, something thqt Sage will be clued in on as well as she follows a trail of dead supes left in his wake. Ryan on the other hand, although MIA, will probably be at the one place that he is most familiar with: his mothers home, and start coming to terms with who Homelander is and what he has done. He's a teenager, so this will probably take a few episodes and with the knowledge of an impending war, he will be compelled to pick a side, and if the shows going to create an overwhelmingly compelling good morale moment, itll be through him choosing to save everyone with his strength, fulfilling his mothers wishes. Hes definitely going to come in clutch for the Boys when it matters most, swooping in to save the day and physically breaking down the system that Sage put in place, thus, also triggering the start of the war. The resistance will be led by Annie with A-train working as information relay all over the world, Maeve back in action, with their first act, being to break out the Boys and a few others in the prison camps. I believe that Sage will be handled directly by guys like Hughie as they will come to terms with how intricate and planned out Homelanders strategies and systematic implementations of control in the country are. The only two anomalies right now is how much of the outcome will be orchestrated by Sage and what her plan actually is....then of course the Virus that Butcher is cooking. One thing is for certain, Ryan will be at the epicenter.

I was a little disappointed with S4, kinda feel like it was a filler season because the writers knew they had S5 and wanted to hold off on everything for the final season. They've been teasing Homelander openly killing people since S2 but they still haven't really done that (except for the one guy), his hearing was damaged last season but there was no mention this season of how that affected his hearing or affected him psychologically, Frenchie and Kimiko have had a will-they-won't-they for four full seasons (why drag it out this long? Feels like such a waste of storytelling), and we are going into the final season of the show with all six members of The Boys still alive, all six have been there since the beginning of the show and not a single one has died, I needed at least one of them to die to make the stakes and consequences real.

I think we'll be more likely is you're already presented theory. However, butcher is not included in the people they take the power to away from. I feel far more likely would be that he injects himself at the virus, and learns further how to manipulate his powers in order to send out multiple of the tendrils so he can take down multiple soups at once. Basically chain reacting infecting people. If he can hit 10 people with his tendrils of infected soup Vines, then those 10 people will go be around 10 more people and then 20 people are infected etc. either eventually taking down all the soups, or strategically taking out the ones they need to see fall?

Compound V gives powers based on personality and goals. It made Butcher a copy of Homelander - vast brute strength and heat vision. It made Hughie a teleporter, awkward but incredibly handy support. I am sure it will make Ashlee an disgusting snake, but also an escape artist. Insecurity, weakness and desire to survive made visible.

Some Predictions // Theories - Ashley gonna get them prehensile hair powers. (Looked like something growing in her head.) - Starlight's powers have come back at a higher level than before. - Butcher will become the final villain of the series after homelander's death // depowerment. Hughie causes his death. - Series ends with Starlight leading an actual heroic version of the seven that is independent from vought with a redeemed A-Train. - Sister Sage knows about the supe virus. Has some kind of contingency plan to deal with homelander. - Firecracker is unknowingly making homelander weaker with her milk. - Maeve will return but won't want to repower herself. Might just harbor starlight for a while. - Soldier boy will die in a massive explosion of his own powers. Causing a whole lot of devastation and depowering most vought supes. Also scorched earth.

With Ashley, everyone that’s been injected with V has gotten power relating to their psyche, or wish for who they could be. Butcher obviously wants to rival Homelander, Hughie wants to be everywhere at once, Hughie Sr was almost brought back from the dead, since he was braindead so his power could be a sort of “glitch”. Not sure what Ashley’s could relate to, with what we saw as her head was bulging, so many things it could be. I personally think she’s gonna be like The Leader from Marvel, big huge brain to help her solve all her problems. But that would be too similar to Sage, so like I said, so many things it could be.
