Funny how this clip just showed up on my feed, just literally did it 1 hr ago......Dry the steak then put it in the freezer for 30-40 mins, slices thin easily...... Making a Philly Cheesesteak later so prepped ahead lol

I really need to try a home made Philly by slicing my own steak. Is it easy to over cook? Seems like it could be if not careful
@user-jl4dr8rp7y5 ай бұрын
@@Naltddeshait cooks rapidly but you have to be patient at first as the water from the beef will render out, once that evaporates then it will start browning..... Constantly stir as they're thin slices

@MrMakemebad273 ай бұрын
What if I told you thats not a meat cleaver. Its a Chinese cleaver. Yes it still has cleaver in its name but its near shaving razor thin at the edge which is the opposite of a meat cleaver. Use it mainly for anything not hard like bones and large melons.
@CJ-Giddyup2092 ай бұрын
@@MrMakemebad27My dad got a Caidao at the Wok Shop years back, and while testing sliced off a thin layer of the back of his fingers. He also learned the difference. Although it really was intended for vegetables, it cut the best stir fry slices edit: the wok shop does specify all meat and vegetable knives as "cleavers," but when dad referred to them as such he was corrected.

What does the cleaver help with? Or how is it so different than a good chef’s knife, for this purpose?
@xevious2501Ай бұрын
@@1TieDye1 simple answer.. weight. think of it like this.. you want to chop up some logs for your fire. do you use a knife or an axe. The answer is obvious, but why?. that answer applies itself in the same way with cutting up foods and severing bone.

My meat department manager thinks cheese steak meat should be lean 💀 You did a pretty good job - I prefer to slice it on a deli slicer or a Berkel but only one small restaurant had one of those. Definitely gotta freeze it first and let it thaw out a tad bit. She cuts smalls hunks off a top round - not even slices, like little hunks. Looks like meat wood chips - then wonders why we reduce and throw it away 3 days later... Lmfao
