@@carlwilcox1101 I’m sure we had maneuvers together, I was in B company.72-74 I made up the mascot pictures on our tanks. Mine was the Battlin Bastard

Yeah, agree, but not a hell of a lot about combat engineers. Our role was much broader than hinted at.

@@OldDogVT , I was a Small Arms Repairman 45B20 and although they barely said a word about support for Armament systems, I was surprised they said anything about support in general at all. Normally it's all about the combat arms being recognized and those who support them so they can shoot their weapons or get them across a river is never mentioned. My motto back then was, "Try Winning Without Us!"

I served 3 1/2yrs out of my 4yr enlistment in B Co and in CSC (Redeye Section) in the 2-48 Inf at Coleman Kaserne in Germany… I remember those days like it was yesterday. And we damn sure spent a lot of time in the field during those 3 1/2yrs- about 14 field exercises in total. Our 2-48 motto was ‘We set the pace’. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Proud to have served two tours with 3AD, 77-79 with A Co 2/33 Armor at Kirch-Gons (Ayers Kaserne) and 80-82 with C Co and HHC 1/32 Armor at Friedberg (Ray Barracks). Was also part of Canadian Army Trophy 81. Completed both PNOC and BNOC with 3AD. Direct commissioned at Ray Barracks in 82. "Spearhead"

Ayers kaserne, Kirchgons, 1961 - 1963 . A co.2nd ARB . 36 Inf. That was sure a long time ago. It's all gone now.

'71-'72 at Ayers Kassern, "the rock" HHC 3/33rd armor, 4.2" mortar platoon, FDC. And a few months working in the education center. When my wife came over I moved off post, onto a farm just outside of Lang Gons. It is all gone now, not needed, but not completely forgotten.
