THIS $1,000 Mod is a RIP OFF...

In today's video I install a Ford Performance rear seat delete in my 2017 Shelby GT350. This is the same rear seat delete that comes in the 2016 Shelby GT350R, 2017 Shelby GT350R and 2018 Shelby GT350R. The cost for one can be as much as $1,000 for a simple molded piece. Fortunately I did not pay $1,000, but even at $700 I feel like it's a rip off. At the the end of the day it was the only seat delete I liked and I wanted an OEM fit and finish so I paid the price. This rear seat delete also fits on the 2015 Mustang GT, 2016 Mustang GT all the way up to the 2018 Mustang GT.

I have an R, don't know if I'd pay $1k for that delete kit. On the stripe, I don't have any stripes on my car and I prefer it that way. I have the clear on my entire car.

I think the stripes go with the GT350, but change the white stripes to gunmetal. And yes, I agree with you, not worth $700, but can't beat that fitment.

Honestly the seat delete should be a swap out option when purchasing. Hate the cost is so high for removing a component. Remove all the stripes and paint it Lightning Blue :P

Personally, I like the stripes. I have the same lightning blue with white stripes. Getting mine wrapped this Wednesday in Orlando as well. Looks like we live really close ... maybe see ya around on the road sometime!

I’m excited about this Project Mr. Ashton, the exhaust note on the voodoo motor is amazing! I have the Ford Performance by Borla Touring catback to be Neighbor friendly, and it sounds nothing like yours. The reviews for my exhaust advised the sound was similar, however after reviewing this video it’s Not by a long shot. By the way I’m Enjoying you putting your hat back in the ring, and making more content, I know how busy you are with your other Business ventures. Alot of people are following another new comer and saying that Mustang content on KZbin was getting stale, people forget about Mr. Ashton and that Bad Azz Whipple Stang, now your passion is shifting towards your GT350, and in all honesty I’m loving it! I still love the rear seat delete. Somebody else was going with that route on their S197. $700 was out of his reach. He did his cheaply, but he could've done it better. I would rather get the OEM stuff then making my own. Looks good though.

Keep the stripes. The Watson Racing rear seat delete can be had for $425 USD or less and it fits perfectly with the cage. I’m very happy with both pieces.

Not a big fan of the white stripes, did you weigh all the parts you pulled out of the car. I think they say in NHRA drag racing every ten pounds of weight removed you save a 10th of a second on overall ET, so if you remove 50lbs that should be half a second quicker.

Most rear sear deletes are overpriced. Can make your own for as little as $20 if you really wanted too. I spent $300 on mine but its made of 2 layers kevlar and 1 layer Carbon Fiber. Then used some RGB leds to illuminate some Pony logos along with some carpet to make it match the interior. Also many car mods are like this as well. Easy to do for little to nothing yet cost well in excess of that. Cold Air Intakes, exhaust, etc are all cheap and easy to do yet cost an Arm and a leg.
