This case mainly exists to be a "Meshlicious 2" with a different name. The original designer of the Meshlicious was W360 (Formd T1 & NCASE M1) and allegedly wasn't paid the agreed upon profits by SSUPD, so they sued SSUPD and are making a Meshlicious V2 with Streacom. This is also why the NCASE was discontinued, due to SSUPD's close relationship with LianLi, they didn't want to place a new production order while the lawsuit was going on.

With how many options of how to set this up SSUPD should really have 3D models on their website you can rotate and see closer where everything goes. As the pictures they have currently aren’t as clear as they should be. Especially with SFF cases where ever cubic inch counts case manufacturers should go into great detail of dimensions and limitations

@shinoMusic2 жыл бұрын
I actually think there is a use-case for an itx review, but I haven't seen it done in the configuration yet. I'd like to see atx-psu, itx-mobo on the mobo-side while the gpu-side has a radiator and high-end-watercooled gpu. If this fits a custom loop configuration like that this is a huge win for psu clearance, since the new GPU generation sips so much power.

With how ITX boards seem to be getting worse and worse in terms of features+performance, it's great seeing that these types of cases exist with a wide range of compatible parts. As far as I know, the only better case in terms of space efficiency is the 10l SFF-Time P-ATX case, which is unfortunately really damn expensive due to it only being made by a relatively small company from Croatia.

I have the original Meshilicious case and love it despite a few gripes. I'm happy to see that they addressed the placement of the power button because there have been times where I would use a USB port and accidentally push the power button (I've learned my lesson and am now more aware of how I hold USB cables). It's also interesting how you can now put the radiator behind the motherboard and beside the GPU since that's where most of the heat resonated in the original case. Idk how practical it is to support an ATX motherboard but at least the option is there. Just wish they included taller case feet to deal with the pesky display cables.

It seems the market share the ATX scenario targets is the person who already has an ATX tower but wants to see if the SFF life is for them...and they would likely have to buy an SFX PSU to give it a go. That sure seems like an awfully small market segment. That said, it doesn't seem to sacrifice anything for the ITX crowd, and on SSUPD's US website, the Meshroom S with PCIe 4 riser is priced $20 less than Meshilicious with PCIe 4 costs...so that flexibility doesn't bring added costs, so it's not really hurting anything if you need/want the PCIe4 riser. And I'll tell you, owning a NR200P with a 3060ti FE...having a PCIe 4 riser saves a TON of headaches when it comes to BIOS updates...

What's the benefit of using an ATX board in a small case like this, if you're just blocking off all the PCI-E expansion slots with the riser cable and PSU? Just for the sake of a few fan headers and others ports? It just doesn't seem to have much practical benefit, apart from motherboard selection choice I suppose...
@mystichavin53302 жыл бұрын
its not about benefits, its about options. say you have an atx board laying around and dont want to buy an sfx mb?
@cptwhite2 жыл бұрын
@@mystichavin5330 I mean sure, I guess that's a benefit, but realistically if I were building a SFF system I'd probably be looking to do it right and not compromise by using "what I have laying around". It's a niche market with deep pockets, conversely if I had an ATX motherboard and wanted a compact system I'd just look at getting the the most compact ATX case I can find (that was specifically intended for building with ATX boards). It doesn't fundementally change the fact that this case makes the expandability of ATX boards mostly redundant. If there's one thing I've learned after building 100+ PC at this point, putting incorrectly sized motherboards into chassis that were fundementally made for a different size always looks bad, whether they're too big, or too small. I think this is equally true here.

What use is an atx mobo if you can't take advantage of it in this case (pcie slots). The raiser cables add a point of failure and the temp at 18c ambient are not great. I would go for a nr200 it's cheaper and you can put that saving towards a itx mobo and you gain 4l and get better temps.

Well .. a few statemens by someone who has been preparing to build a Mesh-mATX for about half a year (mostly stopped by the issue of not being rich and needing to pay rent first before all the "fun"): 1. Using an ATX board is really not the brightest idea for this case. Yes, if you've seen the original Mesh-ATX build videos, then its doable, but its a wasted opportunity, because the rest of the PCIe extension ports are naturally blocked by the PSU. You could change that if you relocated it elsewhere, but it'd would complicate things a lot more - eg. where to place the GPU. 2. IMNSHO the best choice out of two worlds is to go with mATX - not only can you easily relocate the PSU to either the right "front" side - where its not blocking any PCIe ports - but you may also relocate it to the "gpu" side (which is the original plan I had for my own build project). If you want to really go places, you could even do it by adapting any fancy vertical-style GPU holder in the "mainboard" side, add a fitting Riser cable, and then go with a 280 or even a 200 mm radiator on the "gpu" side. Depending on the PSU you're using (also see #3), there is also enough space for a small to medium-sized reservoir, so you're not forced to stick to closed-loop AIOs, but be able to go full custom loop. 3. If you want to go with the smallest PSU possible, you should pick a FlexATX or even U1 server PSU. Those normally come in the size of 80 x 40 x 150 (up to 220) mm, and might be positioned where the "original" position for the SFX / SFX-L / ATX PSU would have been. In combination with an mATX board, that wont even block anything at all. The only disadvantage with this option is the price; a decent FlexATX PSU like the SilverStone FX600-PT Platinum chimes in at around 170 Euro (inkl. shipping), and something insane like the Intel AXX1300TCRPS (with 1300W) starts at around 270 Euro. 4. What I dislike with this "improved" version is: they didnt really "improve" it, just slightly extend it.. What I would have expected from a properly improved version: Eg. an easy option to extend to the sides by a 1 - 2 cm, so one would still be able to comfortably place the radiator to the small "side" like in the original meshi, or at least use the side as some sort of cable channel, adding fans or even a small screen. Also, being able to remove ALL of the metal parts of the frame, ie. the side where the GPU would normally sit, which is still a fixed part of the frame and would have to be manually removed (either drilled + sawn out, or with a dremel tool). But well, even the Jonsbo clone didnt really improve on this, so whatever .. just my .02 eurocents and about 6 months of extensive research of the topic (with the original, not this bad excuse of an "improved" version). cu, w0lf.
