I agree with you Sir regarding Scott Drake. Years ago, everything I purchased from them were fine. More recently though, I've had their window regulators break on me several times, just from normal use. Someone told me that they now obtain some of their products from China.

Y’all Mustang owners living the restoration life in easy mode. Heh. I badly need new taillight housings for my ‘61 Comet, but like most every older car out there, ya can’t get them. The reflective surface inside the housing is dark rusty brown. Going to try chrome spray paint. 🤷♂️

I remember seeing a 69 Pastel Grey GT500 at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale with beat rear windshield trim, a real shame. There's a problem with repro 69/70 fastback rear windshield rubber being too fat, my 69 Mach 1 was repainted with the original glass and rubber left in the car so there were no problems with reinstalling the trim which was original too anyway

I wish my Scott Drake visor rods held that tight. I had to put a rag over the visor and beat it with a hammer a little so the rod would sit tight in it. Hated doing it but it was the only way to keep them from flopping down after a bump.

I've had some problems with reproduction parts. If the manufacturer didn't have the original prints but instead used an old one for the model, they often are close but not an exact fit. Had trouble with color match on rear package shelf too. I ended up painting the one that was in it. But you use what you can get. Original is better if you can find N.O.S. but repro is the best when the old look too poor to reuse with the new paint job.
@HotRodGuyGarage27 күн бұрын
Yeah I’ve found that sometimes too, and I definitely agree that the originals are always best of you can afford them
