I have been crocheting for almost 50 years (and I learned when I was living in Europe), but I never heard of this trick! I may be 50 years late to the party BUT I'm so glad you are keeping the "old tips" alive. Share more if you've got 'em 👏🏿

Hey Robin, this is a great tip because I’ve ordered yarn online thst claims to be 4 weight yarn, but is more like 3 or 2!! weight!! I don’t care for those weights for larger projects. This will solve my problem!! Thank you for this wonderful tip!!

Hey, this is a wonderful thing that I didn’t know about and I’ve been crocheting for about 50 years. I also had a bunch of yarn that was pretty thin left over from other projects. I was able to use that yarn to make three or four more projects thank you so very much. It’s a very useful tool.

Saw this tip elsewhere on another channel & adopted it immediately!!! Really helped when I was making mini sharks for Christmas. DK yarn made a really small one, but thicker yarn made nicer sizes which were better for children!!!
@1lmp111 күн бұрын
I have known this forever on my 65 years of knitting and crocheting. Even though I do the crafts for my relaxation and items to use by family and friends, I do these crafts on a fast base. I would never use this in any other case than if I had used some thinner yarn in triple and then run out of it when I had just a little bit left to finish the project. Also using variegated yarn, depending how long each color in the yarn is, this method will change the look of the formed fabric. Of course it is good to know this method to finish a project on the pinch when there is no availability of the specific yarn any more.
