Hey Randy the Silverado in the starting of the video was totaled because of the c notch in the rear since it was cut and the frame was not original insurance companies total them out ! Other then that the truck is a beauty hope to see it on the channel

I have a 2021 F-150 3.5l power boost and have no issue with the 10 speed trans, so I’m not sure about the up and down shifting. Shifting up and down is what the transmission does!

I understand about Cleetus. There are so many people that will take advantage of you, it's hard to know who to trust. Specially if people have used you in the past. Rebuilding faith in people is difficult when you've been burnt. Cleetus seems to be one of the really good guys. Been following him from very early on and he certainly shares the love with his team. Never know, may be worth getting a Ranger, then getting in contact with him for the 'Danger Ranger' event. I'm sure he'd understand the past.

I agree, for a lot of vehicles I look at and bid on at Copart, I believe they shouldnt of been totaled. However, a cousin of mine is an adjuster. They take in account the amount of time to be fixed, available parts and the plan itself. So, for vehicles say that are '15 or older. depending on damage, its just easier to total it out than wait months for the vehicle to be repaired.

if you change oil in 3.5 ecoboost often theres no issues with turbos. carbon buildup, oil pump leak and exhaust studs are about it

My very first new car was a 2004 Ford Ranger, it had the 2.3 and I loved that truck. It never gave me a single problem, ever. Funny story though, I was 18 years old and would take it to Walmart to get the oil changed. One time I took it in and they called me to come back to their automotive department telling me that they couldn't start my truck. Despite the fact that they'd pulled it into their bay, they claimed it was like that when I got there. Somehow, they tripped the inertia switch. I've never gone to a Walmart for any automotive anything ever since and for the most part change my own fluids now, but from that point forward, that damn inertia switched tripped ALL the time. I miss that truck though, sold it to some landscaping guys with 175,000 on it and found out that they totaled it like 3 weeks after buying it. Also, you should totally buy that lowrider Silverado if it's cheap enough. You could find a cheap body somewhere and put that engine in it and have a helluva truck. That Silverado sounded mean.

New trucks get better mpg, but gone are the days when $10k could get you a new bare bones single cab work truck with manual transmission, vinyl floors, steel rims, and vinyl/cloth bench seat. The amenities in modern trucks are nice, but expensive.

I agree on the transmission. Just about every auto transmission I've driven with more than 5-6 gears just feels awkward. Pretty good case of more does not always mean better. I'd rather go eCVT (not CVT) instead of a 10 speed.

I have 2004 ranger switch is on right side little rubber button. I was in a wreck in another one and truck never shutdown after head on collision. I guess switch doesn’t always do it’s job.

I agree. The ten speed hunts way too much and is very jerky. I preferred the 6spd. My 16 got at least 1mpg better than my 19 did with the same 3.5 eco boost. I put 50k on each.

That first truck with the holes in the wheel well covers. I could see someone forklifting a loaded palet right into them. I'd just weld some formed sheet metal right on top of them. It really needs a complete bedliner. You should have found a language preference setting on that one that was in Spanish. Probably on the screen.😊😊 I think JR said $1500 for the taillight.

Hmmmm.... I remember being in highschool when GM came out with the C5 with the LS Juan. Oh happy days. LS power! Unfortunately not everyone was happy. Many would say, "350 based SBC is way better than that new LS junk for this reason or that reason." The reality is, no. Don't get me wrong I've known some C/K owners with many 6 figure miles on their GEN2 SBC 5.7L Vortec trucks, but I've known more people with 400K+ with GEN3 LS based 5.3L Vortec trucks. From a refinement, HP, and efficiency standpoint LS easily beats GEN1/GEN2 SBC. With the same bore diameter a LS will way outperform 350 in modding as well. Hell, I remember GEN2 Tundra got all kinds of hate for being built like crap in comparison to GEN1 Tundra, and this was from Toyota fanboys. Then sometime in the early 2010's someone drove a million miles in one, (I believe it had the old 4.7L, or possibly the 4.6L) Toyota bought it back and publicized it on internetland, and now everyone acts like the GEN2 Tundra is the most reliable vehicle ever built. In reality it took then 5-6 years for Toyota truck fanboys to not act like they were POS compared to a 99-06 Tundra, even those GEN2 Tundra was bigger, stronger and more capable than GEN1, Toyota fanboys said that GEN1 was way better built and more reliable than GEN2. Back in probably either 2016/2017 (I know this because I was dating my wife at the time) I literally had a used car salesman point me away from a GEN2 Sequoia, and pointed me towards a GEN1 Sequoia that was parked right by it. He claimed that the GEN2's had reliability issues and could be problematic compared to the GEN1's which were absolutely bulletproof. I say all this to say this, a 10R80 is 2x's better than a 6R80. So basically to make the 6 speed 6R80 as good as the 10 speed 10R80 it would be a 12 speed. The Mudstain community is so stupid. (and I own a 88 GT and a 03 Cobra) "No, if you're going to Coyote swap your Foxbody, go GEN1 or GEN2 Coyote with a 6R80, instead of a GEN3 Coyote with a 10R80 because the because the 307 ci Coyotes with the ten speed isn't as reliable as the sleeved Coyotes with the 6 speed." Well you go right ahead homeboy if when spending for this swap ultimate reliability (which is questionable, and certainly not written in stone when comparing GEN2/GEN3 Coyotes and 6R80/10R80 transmissions) trumps performance. A GEN3 5L/10R80 setup will wax fat on a GEN1 or GEN2 5L 6R80 setup everything else being equal. I would never, ever pick a 6R80 over a 10R80... Ever, unless I was just replacing a 6R80 with another 6R80. Other than 1st gear, there's not much difference between the gearing in a 6R80 and an old 4 speed. Really take out the 1st gear in a 6R80, make it a 5 speed, and compare it's 2nd through 6th gearing to the 1-4 gearing in say a 4R70 or 4R100. There would be little to no gear advantage after 1st gear going from an old 4 speed to a 6R80. This is absolutely not true when you look at the gear ratio's between an old 4 speed (or a 6R80 for that matter) and a new 10R80. 10R80 reliability issues are way overblown, and it's gear hunting is way easier going and less obvious than the 6 speed in my old 13 Taurus SEL, and my trucks an 18 which means that it's the first, (17 was the first if you got the 3.5L EB) and supposed to be the worst year of the 5L with the 10R80. Before I got my truck I DD a 19 1SS 1LE, and in Camaroland no one was crying when GM went from the POS 8L90 to the 10L80 in the Camaro. (ZL1 got the 10L90. The #'s 70/80/90/etc at the end of transmission names is a torque rating, and a 10L90 is a beefed up 10L80) How many Silverado/Sierra have you seen say, "man I sure do miss my old 2017 L86/8L90 truck over this new 2023 L87/10L80."? If they do say that it certainly isn't because a 8L90 is better than a 10L80. Fords 10R80, and GM's 10L80 are the exactly same transmissions other than the bolt pattern on the bellhousing, and the factory tuning that each manufacturer gives them from the factory. Everything else is the same. I feel more than sure that they're built on the same assembly line. If you have an issue with a 10R80 then more than likely it's a you problem. Have people had issues with them? Sure, just like they've had issues with any and every other mass produced, man made, mechanical device, but overall a 10R80 is an excellent transmission, and a huge step up from a 6R80 from a performance standpoint.
