So my friends over Scott Flanagan Landscape decided I did not have enough work to do so they made me some more. His landscape work is second to none, his equipment care......... yeah leaves much room for improvement. His year old dump trailer needs to be landscaper proofed to make my life easier in the future. Let's get this trailer back on the road so he can continue building fantastic hardscapes. Check him out at: / @scottflanaganlandscap...

I worked 25 years in landscaping. Most of that on installation crews. I've never seen that much damage to a company trailer EVER. Not even a mowing trailer and, most of those guys are idiots. Your customer has got quite a team over there. Just... wow.

Good to go for another week! We know it doesn't belong to a roofer. They just chain up the axle and run them with 3 wheels...

A roofer in Florida has a trailer made by Rolls-Royce and BBE wheels. Roofs in Florida cost a fortune. It was $12,500 to redo our roof and I got charged for hurricane clips I already had installed because the state makes you reconfirm they can handle a force load and it's actually cheaper to get new ones put in. Amd my roof was a simple tar and gravel roof.
@vehcor
@vehcor 3 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: this landscaper did work for his uncle, a roofer for a few years... might be the reason why I have had his trailers arrive with the axle ratchet strapped up. 😂 I enjoy the repairs to their destruction. The regular maintenance bores me!

Don't forget the broken leaf springs, inoperable trailer breaks, beat up truck, over loaded, beat to death and back and finally the last thing to ever get attention... Disgusting. Its all fun and games until you get stopped by DOT or hurt or kill someone because they are too cheap to maintain a trailer...

vehcor adds a junction box that the manufacturer couldn't. The condition of the trailer for being a 2020 is amazing the rear doors aren't torn off or bent badly. That's a matter of time and then vehcor can make happy faces while putting them back right. Its not the landscaper that does all this damage, its their minimum wage workers.

I'm a mechanic in New Zealand and have done a lot of work on rental trailers we make a short loom up about a metre long with another male and female plug mounted on the inside of the chassis rail. This saves the rest of the loom from being torn out when they run it over or drop the draw bar on it as they do... Mount the lights vertically on the sides of the trailer on some angle brackets or the doors. A legal requirement out here is that you have to red reflectors on the rear so it can be seen when parked at night and an illuminated license plate showing no naked white light to the rear.

Pneumatic is great for diy also. The tools are cheaper, and at most you worry about replacing a hose. A hose is cheaper than a battery, with the added benefit that you only need one hose, verses two or more batteries per brand of tool.

If they are using the spare tire bracket to lift the front of the bed when overloaded, a couple of heavy D-ring brackets or a couple of heavy chain hooks welded to either side of the spare tire so they can use a chain between the bobcat and trailer would help prevent damage as well.
