The 2.7 has had some issues in the Bronco, but is pretty solid in everything else. The Ranger version of the 2.3 is pretty bulletproof, Ford will even sell you a fully warrantied +45hp +60lb/ft tune, if that gives you an idea of how tough their own engineers think it is.
@Dusdaddy8 ай бұрын
As all of these are finally hitting the street, they really come close together in pricing for what you get. It comes down to what options they offer or what it looks like. The GMC has a HUD and digital mirror which Ford doesn't, but the Ford has powered rear window but no moonroof like the GM. Taco has all of it available but costs the most for it all. Lots of combos to go with. The Toyota and GM look aggressive whereas the Ford looks softer but has high payload. Except that comes in a shorter wheelbase that doesn't work well for towing. All are pricey relative to 10 years ago but that's what it is.

Why do you guys keep saying “straight 4”? Have you ever seen a V4??

All newer gas Subarus are "flat 4" engines. A V4 is commonly seen in big European sport bikes.

I test drove a new Lariat and a GMC Canyon AT4 this past weekend. I am a Ford guy, but the GMC had the same features for less money and I think I may go the GMC route.
@robertchapman44888 ай бұрын
What features did it have that the ford didn't? And what were the prices?
@deranged7318 ай бұрын
@@robertchapman4488 The price was 6k less than the Ford and felt the GMC was equipped very similar. I guess it felt like more of a value for the same features. If you add some additional features to the GMC to get to the same price as the Lariat, the GMC has HUD, cooled seats and an Aux switch on the dash for 1k less than the Lariat.
@Dusdaddy8 ай бұрын
@@deranged731 Yeah, maybe at the dealer but that isn't MSRP. The base Elevation costs $39.5 but you need to add $6K in options to equal this XLT which will bring them closer together. You are not getting a HUD and cooled seats on an Elevation. And if you add those to an AT4, you are at $50K. A loaded AT4 would be closer to a Lariat. One bonus on the Ford is the power rear window that GM doesn't even offer.

@@DusdaddyI'm glad it does not come with a sunroof I problems with sunroofs before if I get another vehicle it will not come with a sunroof and it's costly if it fails. There is no point in having a sunroof in a pickup truck

@@texandy89 I don't care for them either. I like how GM keeps it as a separate option but Toyota lumps it in with other stuff.
