Yes, ironically, a lot of those older bikes have more power because of no restrictions on their fuel emissions, running a richer fuel mixture and no restrictions on the inlet and outlet

You are 100% correct, but we are technically 30 years ahead. My car has double the power with the same engine size as three decades ago.

@@coastrider8881that is because small motorbike engines have always had a higher power to Weight ratio than conventional cars . Also, air cooled engines have reached their limit of dispersing heat and that is why the high-performance motocross, trail bikes are now water cooled ,but unfortunately, the result is a shorter lifespan of these engines.

I'd be interested to see you compare this bike with the DRZ 400 e. Which one would you own ? Tell us a bit more about the 250 Djebel's open road performance.

I've only ride drz400's a few times, so I can't compare much. It's obviously more powerful, but also heavier and taller with the same suspension travel. It also have a lot less range. The top speed of the djebel is similar to the crf300 rally, but the gearing is shorter, so the cruise speed is a bit less.

It was only sold in Japan. There are a few imported used units in Europe, like mine. The russians used to buy a lot of them because it's a workhorse able to reach remote places without missing a beat, that's probably the country where there are more units outside of Japan.

The dry weight of the Djebel 250 is 118kgs, the Honda is 20kgs heavier.
