This 5k PARKRUN is LIGHTNING FAST but PAINFULLY SLOW - Belvoir Castle (Winter)

Belvoir Castle Parkrun has two completely different courses depending on the time of year you visit, which is great because it meant we went back to make another video!
Earlier this year we took on the 'Summer' course, which is a challenging trail run, so we wanted to come back when they launched the 'Winter' course to see how they compared.
The Winter course is a completely different route, sharing absolutely zero paths with the Summer course. The Winter course is run completely on tarmac within the Belvoir Castle grounds and makes for a run every bit as challenging as the trail based Summer course.
Starting with a steep decent, if you are like me, you might set close to your fastest ever kilometre on a Parkrun course, but don't let that first kilometre put you into a false sense of security, things are about to get a WHOLE lot more challenging. The course gradually flattens out before beginning an ascent to the turnaround point, but this, whilst challenging is child's play compared to the final kilometre, which will see you climb 40 metres of elevation as you reach the finish line.
This is NOT the course for lifetime 5K personal bests, but it gives you a bit of everything and you might just set a 1KM personal best on the first kilometre dash.
Facilities here are very good, with ample parking (free before 10am), toilets in the car park, and a cafe serving great coffee, cakes and breakfast items.

Oh interesting! Where does the swim element typically take place in this area?

Thanks! I use either a GoPro 7 or 9 on Timewarp mode for the run Timelapse.

Including Sence Valley? I've been trying to go there for the last 2 weeks, but it's been cancelled due to flooding, so fingers crossed I can tick that one off in the next couple of weeks

@@RunSDJ Yep, the Sence Valley start is only 2.5km from my house. Done it twice now. Nice to run to a parkrun and then run home after.
