This 5k Parkrun was a GRIND - Belvoir Castle (Summer Course)

Welcome to my #review of #BelvoirCastle #Parkrun, one of the most challenging Parkrun courses in the UK, set in north #Leicestershire.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Belvoir Castle, one of England's most impressive stately homes and home to the Duke and Duchess of #Rutland. This #5k #run is a challenging experience with #trailrunning shoes definitely. The route is a perfect balance of amazing scenery and challenge terrain with over 100m of elevation, providing a satisfying #workout while immersing you in the charm of the castle's surroundings.
When you are finished #running there is much to explore in the castle grounds and a fantastic cafe serving food and drink

I did this with my daughter, even managed to pause the vid to see see ourselves coming up the hill 😩.Our first run on the summer course but have done the winter one 9 times which is my favourite. Similar elevation but in the main good tarmac under foot and a bit quicker, great scenery. I only ran easy on Saturday, 30 minutes something, but as a rough guide my best winter course time is 23.50 against 21.43 which I did at Doddington hall which is one of the faster parkruns. So 2 ish minutes slower. Probably less for fitter runners.

Good to hear how it compares to the Winter Course. I found it about 3 - 3:30 slower than where I am at on. Flatter tarmac course at the moment. I didn’t expect as wide a gap as that but still really enjoyed it.

If you're ever down in South London, I'd encourage you to try Lloyd, which is a cut down version of one of the Surrey Cross-Country Championship courses. For example, in well over 600 events, only 6 women have beaten the 20-minute barrier, most were visits from "famous names" in the amateur athletics world.

Thanks for the tip. I am planning on getting some London ones ticked off over the coming months so i will take a look at Lloyd.
