I feel like no one uses these because of the charge time. If you don't do the elevation trick, these things will often get blown up really quickly on a contested point, and you usually only get to put down a couple of these in a match. Good old trophies and smokes feel like a better objective combo.

Honestly, field upgrades in general need some rebalancing. Trophy is so far and away the best field upgrade due to it's mix of high usefulness and fast charge speed that I simply don't run anything else. Even in TDM trophies are nice to just spam around the map.

Yeah. I strongly prefer DDOS. It lets me just delete most enemy equipment and at least temporarily disable sentry guns. And you get it a LOT if you are getting a lot of score. It’s amazing for the small maps when the enemy has multiple people running trophies.

Been using this since launch and it's been incredible. Sadly assassin vest has pushed it out of my reservoir. The elevation bug is a huge game changer for Highrise and Quarry domination though. If they do end up nerfing that I really hope they make it hard counter trophy systems directly though. Those things are so overtuned already, being able to properly counter them with the ACS would be great.

@@UnchainedSora I think it depends on the playstyle. You wanna use ghost to flank, which means you’ll want to run around. If you use ghost when you’re just not moving and holding down a position, people are gonna know where you’re at anyways, so what’s the point? Same goes for if you play the objective, which this equipment is meant for; you’re gonna be on the objective. But what makes this equipment good in combination with ghost as a gear is that you can still play the flanking playstyle while also playing the objective. You can just make a class with the comms or engineers vest, ghost gear and this field upgrade, you don’t have to change all your classes obviously.

"Can certainly turn the tide of a game" Precisely why they shouldn't allow it. If you can't do it with your body, you shouldn't be able to do it with it. And it's not about "only 11 seconds" the other guy mentioned. It's about stealing a very contested flag (usually B) where we all know it's pretty much hell to get. So a cheesy steal could lead to waaaaay more than 11 seconds, but for as long as you now hold the flag.

As someone else pointed out. If you’re playing solo and not a party. It makes it difficult to cap flags on your own especially if none of your teammates are doing the same. Being able to do this helps me contribute to the objective while allowing me to hold my own defending the point from multiple positions.

Glad you've brought this up! HOWEVER, I think if someone reaches out about this to you, you also mention that the ACS does NOT work in Hardcore Hardpoint. Which is strange because it works in core hardpoint.

This is probably a case of custom games being different from pubs, but the ACS can actually hack munitions boxes, SAM turrets, and guardians. Does not work on sentries, but I was kinda hoping it would (even tho that would be OP) because sentries in hardcore are insanely strong for how easy they are to earn Additionally, there’s a bug where the ACS doesn’t activate if you’re killed before the ACS deploys its antennas after throwing it. It’s a really annoying bug too because you then have to wait for the cooldown again. It can be quite frustrating at times because it just feels like a waste

Been using the ACS until Assassin vest came out, that or trophy system. I use ACS in situations where I'm the only one really playing obj, and tropy system to harden points if there is some teamwork. The ACS has a sphere of influence, so it can hack equipment that's vertical to it, so I thought it was intentional to capture points in that manner. Not sure if that's the case if it only works on domination, and not hardpoint or control. Also if you throw down an ACS on a point you're on, it should double the capture rate like there's a second person there.

I wish the acs had more uses outside of dom/hp. It'd be cool if it could pickup nearby dog tags, or could plant the bomb for you in snd. I know it does the whole hacking thing, but it feels rare to actually stumble across other equipment (i did my rgl camo, I know the ptsd from that)

Okay so it's not just me. I kinda stopped using it because it seems like half the time I'll throw it down and turn to run to another flag, only to notice that it never started capturing the point. I couldn't figure out if that was intended or not, but it really made an already niche field upgrade even worse so I just go with the Assassin Vest on everything now since it's so stupidly broken and you get value out of it 100% of the time.

I have hacked an enemy munitions box with the ACS, maybe different functionality in custom game modes? I was using the engineer vest btw. Maybe makes it more obvious? Also, I think the equipment disappears if the original person who placed it dies even if you "own" it

I'm sure I have hacked Guardians before - wonder if this changed? Ditto, I believe the previous hacker perk did affect Sentry guns, seemed to work fine. In terms of the calling card for 25 hacks, the use of hackable equipment is so low that, if you are going for that one, the recharge time is so slow, you just sit on them until you can use - more than once every other game is really rare. But I must admit I love being able to flip a claymore to get a camper. If you've only got 11s (and then have to stay alive for it to be useful) a permanent hack seems right.

Maybe this was patched at some point, or perhaps it only happens in certain maps or modes, but I've hacked enemy streaks with an ACS before. I've stolen a few guardians and even had a match where I stole someone's sentry gun. That was fairly close to launch though when I was running ACS on all my loadouts, so it's possible that was changed since then.

Honestly, it's the alternative when you don't have players on your team that play the objective. It makes playing those games modes tolerable at certain times. If they do patch that bug, it would be nice if they could extend the horizontal range a bit. I've had an issue where it just doesn't activate. I can clearly see it directly on the objective, but it just becomes a paper weight; not even worth the XP to enemy players.

Started using the ACS in hardpoint as for some reason in 2024 no one caps the hardpoint and is really annoying, now for it to work in hard point you do have to be in the hardpoint area and then place it down as it wont work if you just throw it in the area.

If you have multiple people throw an ACS do they stack on a flag? E.g. dom score is 190-180 on highrise. Everyone is contesting B because the losing team only has A and HAS to capture B or C before the next tick or they lose, they’re down 2 flags to 1. Could the losing team full rush the underground area below B, throw 6 ACS’s underneath the flag and insta-cap it before the team with 2 flags and the lead could counter?

Its great for meat cuz they cant launch mosquitoe drones. Its also super frustrating on the flip side- when u have 3 killstreaks ready but cant use them cuz of device. U can see on the kill cams if players have killstreaks ready then you can block them from using. I couldnt use my vtol or over watch because it was blocked and then the match ended before device ran out. It also happened the one time i got the swarm killstreak. I wasnt able to use! Was so sad. Lol.

I love the acs but I think it’s a bit OP. I would rather see it operate twice as long, while also having to capture a flag twice as long (requiring 20 seconds to capture instead of 10). That would at least make it so enemies have 2x the duration to shoot it down. I really overlooked the part of hacking enemy equipment; that’s such a bonus! All in all; great addition/refreshing element to the game!

They must’ve changed the ACS because I did the hack 100 equipment with a ACS challenge about a week ago and I did quite a few Munitions boxes, some Guardians and a few Sam’s too.
