In all Halo games people get mad at me for well almost never using my gun to kill Grunts for I like assassinating them. I got really good at it. So fun fact in Halo Reach not 3 but Reach which is the last Bungie game while Halo 3 is made by 343 Industries. Well in reach there is an assassination animation that only happens when you perfectly assassinate someone while moving forward to there back and starting a jump onto the person you are assassinating but they have to be starting to jet pack away and if it happens perfectly you will volleyball spike them with your hands clenched right into the ground. It will cause the enemy to be nailed half way into the ground.

so i beat halo ce laso on solo( meaning you have the do the save and quit exploit to not restart the level) and i was just about to finish the library running to the very end trigger where out of fucking no where a fatty flood landed right in front of me blowing up and killing me. I was so shook from dying i forgot to save and quit in time and ended up having to start over from the beginning.

100% bro. I still love Halo and have been an avid fan since the first game came out. The time 343 has had Halo though has been completely tumultuous and divisive though. I won’t go into a big paragraph or soap box but I can definitely tell the general consensus is that the community is absolutely not happy with the direction it is going and Infinite was a complete dumpster fire when everyone was hoping for a dub. I’d be lying if I said I’m excited for the future of the franchise. Best I can be anymore is cautiously optimistic but even that’s hard when the last three releases haven’t been up to the same level as the Bungie games.

I think Regret is worse than Gravemind as it requires skips, while Gravemind is more of a push through, plus the really difficult part of Gravemind is the begging and the prison. Regret can mess with you through the whole mission, have to hit triggers, etc. The prison is difficult in Gravemind but sticks and brute shots can help you with the most difficult part, and land safely from the gravity lift. Brutes still die to sticks and there is an abundance of them, as well as making them berserk prevents them from shooting at you.

@@stardust_2339 Regret wasn’t too bad up until the boss fight. There were a fair amount of tricks required to get there, but the boss fight itself was brutal. Getting the boss room set up with the pillars to block the enemy spawns was tedious as hell. And it took me a while to finally get a checkpoint in the boss fight where the pillars would remain set up so I wouldn’t have to spend 30 min resetting up the room again after each death I had. Gravemind’s opening room was a nightmare, especially since I missed one of the despawn tricks. Thankfully, I was able to nail the prison skip after about 30 min of attempts. After that, the level wasn’t too bad.

its not really as hard as it seems at first, if you have a strategy, map knowledge and a way to move around at first it becomes pretty simple (dont quote me on it though, the furthest ive gotten is heroic, I cant go through legendary)

@ChefVoid In my playthrough I did with a friend, the snipers are actually not too bad. Their AI can be manipulated, and the jackals still die in one headshot from a sniper or BR. Nothing about them fundamentally changes from legendary since they already one-shot you there, and had high awareness, so once you're used to aiming without the reticle, they're surprisingly easy.

​@@ChefVoidOn LASO believe me, a jetpack elite with a plasma rifle is way worse than a sniper jackal. A pack of drones is way worse than a jackal sniper. The jackal snipers still die in 1 shot, they're a small nuisance, especially since they have a finite amount of spawn locations and can be manipulated. One of the hardest levels in H2 LASO is Cairo station and that level has no jackal snipers. The opening room in gravemind and regret room in regret have no jackal snipers either, and those rooms are brutal. They are doable though, I managed to get all 700 about a year ago and I'm not that good.

i admit, this is WAY beyond my skill, OR patience. i didn't know that one skull prevents you from picking up Covenant weapons, that's REALLY bad when dealing with Elites. also, i read in a game magazine that one of the creators of the original Halo said that making the Library so long was a mistake, it should have been just one floor.

This came out at the PERFECT time. I just beat Halo CE today. I never got to play the original games, and honestly really enjoyed the first Halo. Gonna be playing Halo 2 and 3 next. I warned you about halo 2 laso in the reach video. But a little trick you can do in halo 2 is stuffing your head in to a wall or box and looking down. If they cant see your head they cant see you. Best of luck in the future endeavors

I spent a lot of my time in lockdown getting achievements in halo:MCC. Managed all the speedrun achievements first. Then did all the SLASO achievements… halo 2 SLASO was the most anxiety inducing thing I’ve ever experienced in a single player game. It took 3 hrs to do the first mission because punching Johnson through the entire mission sucked. The last section of regret, not to mention gravemind, which took 2hrs of practice just to do the elevator skip. I’m glad it’s over

This series is great cause to a lot of people, LASO is an insurmountable challenge, but this proves with dedication and a few tricks anyone can do them. Also props for sticking through fight after going up the lift in T&R that is consensus the hardest part of CE LASO. I look forward to the inevitable Halo 2 LASO, challenge to see Snam really lose all his hair.
