Remember that older dogs in shelters have a lot of love to give too. I adopted a 12- 1/2 terrier mix who was dumped because his owner 'thought' he had cancer. He didn't. He has turned out to be the funniest, most appreciative, loving and whacky dog we have ever owned. He's now 15+ and he makes us smile every day.

That makes me sick. That's why I like dogs more than people! That poor dog, dumped by his owner assumingly after 12 years of companionship? That is incomprehensible to me! What is WRONG WITH PEOPLE??? But then, there are people like you. Thank you for taking this poor animal in and giving him love. The more I live, the more I love dogs and the more I hate when people treat them badly. I suppose some people don't have a heart at all.

That's why I've always adopted senior dogs. I have 7 yr old Pit Bull currently and she is the youngest one so far. She is full of life, love and affectionate omg! I just love her to bits. My last fur baby before her was 9 yr old staffy with cancer. We paid for his surgery and they got it all thankfully. He lived anither full and happy 3 years with more love than he ever had in his whole life. We had a bond that could never be broken.

Years ago I adopted a 12 year old Airedale/lab mix. My youngest daughter was 3 at the time and Toby was her best friend and protector. Lab/pit and Cane Corso mix dogs now. Idiots,but love them both.
