Some 'people' were 'abandoned on the side of the road' They were suppose to be brought up by humans, but they weren't. They have no empathy, because none was given to them. @@mxsochist You should explore those feelings within YOU. You probably have been hurt by someone abandoning YOU. Your reaction is not sympathy for a poor abandoned innocent creature. It is the reaction of 'avenging angel' who wishes to administer pain! I'm not criticizing YOU, I'm actually giving you good advise. If your reaction to the pain of the World is to administer pain to change it, you are naïve and dangerous. Look within yourself, there is a story you must relive, it will reveal much about yourself, for YOUR own growth! The cure for pain, isn't more pain! That's probably the strategy that got you where you are now. Good luck! :)

My wife and I found a small Labrador looking puppy a few years back on the hwy, the ambient temperature that day was just above freezing, we stopped and picked her up then I cuddled her up in my jacket with me, it was within a few minutes this puppy went sound asleep, she lived for 4 weeks or so longer then passed on, but for that few weeks this puppy was as happy as any child on Christmas Day, our vet thought she had some type neurological issues which contributed to her passing. To any one that can help any animals in need, please do so even in this time of the Corona virus - 4-7-2020

Adopting dogs is such a powerful and amazing feeling. My old man that I adopted at nine months old just passed away from cancer late February of this year. Saying goodbye to him was the most painful experience I’ve ever had in my life, nothing can prepare you for the heartbreak that is witnessing the final breath your best friend takes before they pass. The pain that I felt then, and the pain that I still feel now, it’s all worth it for the amazing years I got to spend with him. Everyone who knew him fell in love with him immediately. He was the sweetest boy on the face of the earth. He was basically a self-taught therapy dog, he took great care of me when I was depressed pre-med. I miss hearing his one, singular, long howl that he’d let out every morning when I woke up. I miss everything about him, even his incessant barking. I hope wherever he is, he’s happy. We have adopted another dog. It was on extremely short notice. A few weeks ago my aunt passed away from a heart attack and there was no one who could take her dog but us, so we have three dogs again! However they’re all chihuahuas which is.......noisy.

@@pattys8048Communities throughout history and even today would not survived if they weren't allowed to eat animal products. Imagine trying to survive a harsh winter without central heating and being allowed only pickled veg because that's the only thing that would keep. It's only thanks to globalisation, out of season produce and food science that allows people to be comfortably vegan today and even then that option is not available everywhere. I'm not even vegetarian and until I can move out, my options are limited because my Dad and stepmum are quite picky. However, I do want to eat less meat overall but the important thing to me is that the animals are treated well and with kindness. There are many farmers who take care of their livestock; it's not all factory farms.

Many moons ago I fostered cats. The feeling, knowing you've done your part, when you hand them over to their forever home is just incredible. But then, there's that one day, that one animal, where letting go is the right thing but it feels like a cruel blow. With all its ups and downs, fostering is a special experience that will, ultimately, enrich your life in ways I cannot even describe to you.
