Best episode so far. Gjirokaster has its own desert called oshaf, made of sheep milk and figs. It's too bad you are traveling by public transport because there is a lot of scenic places around Gjirokaster all about 30-40 minutes drive. The guesthouse trend started in the Albanian Alps and it has mushroomed all over rural Albania. And they do serve the best food, they grow a part of it themselves, especially in villages. Gjirokastra has good food because the surrounding area is more rural and mountainous = extra organic ingredients. There is big bridge in the mountains of Gjirokaster(Ali Pasha Bridge), pretty scenic because it is over a canyon. It's like 20 minutes walk from your guest house.

Great video guys! What you see on the top of trilece is CARAMEL. The other ingredients are just four: SPONGE CAKE soaked in three (tri) types of milk (lece) : whole milk, condensed milk and milk cream. The albanians think that trilece comes from Turkey, on the other side turkish people told us the contrary (for them it is albanian). The name is totally latin, maybe the real origin is from South America. We don't know yet how it became so popular in Albania in the last few years (20 years more or less)

I was smiling throughout the video. It is beautiful when someone speaks well of your country because it is true that Albania is a pearl. Albania has not had justice because in movies and news it is a bad country and many people think twice to visit it

The biggest shame for an Irish is not that you can't pour a beer properly but that you get tipsy with just a small beer 🙆♂️. You should definitely start drinking raki for the rest of your journey in Albania 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃

@@TwoMadExplorers hahahaha you can pretend to be German like Naomi but even there is frowned upon to be a non alcohol lover 😂. The only way is to start drinking now. It's never too late for a cold beer or five 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
