You've done an incredible job cruising my country Albania. And boy don't you know taste! What you probably didn't realize you experienced perhaps the oldest cuisine in the world. Yes, we have some mix with Greek and Turkish buy most is genuinely Albanian. Wish you visited back in the 70s-80s when our food was out of this world because ingredients were 100% organic. Hope, you noticed how spices are used very little in our cooking. That's because spices kill the true flavor of other ingredients used. Sadly, Albanian cuisine is almost nonexistent here in the States and Americans are not familiar with it. Unfortunately, all Albanians who own restaurants, either they own, Italian or Greek restaurants. If you reply to this, I will give you the original recipe of Petulla (you did not eat that in Albania of all kinds of Petullas' you had) so you or your wife can cook them right there in Miami with American flour and feel you're still in Albania.

Was there a masonry fireplace there to keep the inside of the old house warm in winter? Masonry fireplaces are huge stone fireplaces that are extremely efficient and use very little wood. The stone retains the heat for hours and hours and can heat an entire house for a full day. They were used often back in the day. I love the gifts you got your family. Your daughters will treasure those wood carvings of their names all their lives!

Hi, David: I like your channel very much, and I hope you do not mind my feedback. In my opinion, you are overemphasizing "food" which is only one component of surface culture. In many ways, your programs feel more like Guy Fieri's programs. I would love to see and learn more about the hidden aspects of the various cultures and how countries are evolving (or not).
