Poseidon was under-water transport (via Noah) and weapon (Sea Kings) held by the Fishmen. Pluton is a an above-water transport and weapons with plans held by the humans. I suspect Uranus is a air/space ship with weapons held by the Lunarians. Possibly a superior version of the Maxim (held by the real slim shady who may have found an incomplete blueprint). One thing I like about this is all 3 would be, by design, able to handle changing sea levels in varying ways. Going with what you said, what if Joy Boy faction handed it out to these groups specifically to gain trust and prove cooperation and thats what marked them as traitors?

Pretty sure there's alot right here. I think the ancient kingdom (likely named Dawn (the D. also standing for Dawn)) has existed since the "Dawn of time". They may have even been a world government over the ancient world before the Civil War. The Civil War involving the 3 ancient weapons irreparably damaged the whole planet (maybe even the "solar" system?), leading to 20 specific islands that survived the flooding teaming up to defeat joyboy (the other last one standing from the Civil War?). Also, the kingdom may have been named after their power source, an artifical sun like Lilith wished they had (hence Dawn kingdom) and the mother flame is almost the same thing just much smaller and he hasn't figured out how to properly contain and fully utilize such intense power yet.

I wholeheartedly love this nuanced approach to analysis and I want to extend it to the ancient weapons! To an ant, a magnifying glass can be a weapon. I'm reminded of the conversation that takes place in Arrival regarding the translation of a word that can mean either "tool" or "weapon." That stands out most for me in regards Pluton being the "world's worst warship." What if it's just really bad in terms of being a warship? What if it's a peace vehicle? What if sinking an island is ambiguous or its meaning lost to time? What if sinks an island's economy by being so resource intense? What if teleports or moves islands? 'Cause, really, what does it even mean to sink an island? Just for funsies, I ran Pluton's tagline (世界最悪の戦艦) though Google translate for both Japanese and Chinese. I was prompted by the recent discussion around the Chinese flood myths potentially informing Oda's writing. The Chinese translation provided was "The world's most powerful warship." Anyway, Oda is a good writer, well-informed about history, conflict, and liberation. I think the story will be one of liberation where we find out IMU is in bondage and in needing of liberation. Impel Down told us that the world's most oppressive systems are entered from the top. I need to see Enel again, too.

My thoughts & opinions of the chapter: 1. With the Seraphim free, I can see a moment where they will go against the Elders command & save the SH by any means necessary! Which would be something the real Hancock, Kuma, Jinbe, and probably Mihawk would do. 2. After seeing Demaro Black returning for the 1st time since the start of the Post time skip, it's a perfect foreshadow foe the Kid Pirates to come back even better than before! 3. When seeing Stussy in this chapter & the recent episodes, I now wonder if the original was ever as selfless as her clone was. 4. Idk how much Vegapunk will explain to everyone about Joy Boy, but I would like to know if he ever used Nika's power any differently from Luffy and/or Bonney?

Further to your point about the reasonable use of power. Luffy, representing the second coming of a major representative of this kingdom, has shown to know when to and when to not exercise power. partially exemplified by his bar scene with be bellamy on jaya, but also in several other instances where he seems to have an intuitive sense of when violence or the exertion of power is necessary. Though his intense bond with those he cares about may lead him to lose sight of this in the future. I think too, we saw this exemplified with White Beard, when his own son stabbed him in the back, and despite the betrayal, he approached the situation with empathy. The "just" exertion of power is such an important theme in OP, great video!

The part about Iceberg made me remember how Franky made battleships as a hobby, ships kitted out with guns and cannons that were used to incriminate and condemn Tom despite Franky NEVER intending to use them. I believe JoyGirl is onto something with this; I’m thinking back to how Franky publicly destroyed the Pluton blueprints in front of Spandam as retribution for taking his mentor and to ensure no one could use them ever again. The “good guys” might be denied a devastating weapon for their cause, but so are the Gorosei and Imu.

Joyboy and Imu both from the Ancient Kingdom. Joyboy was all about sharing and exploring, like he wanted everyone to benefit from the Ancient Kingdom's riches. He had this charm that attracted people who shared his views, kinda like how Luffy makes friends everywhere he goes. Now, Imu was a whole different story. He was rich and sneaky, kinda like Blackbeard, always plotting and scheming. He wanted power and only recruited people who were tough and ruthless, promising them all sorts of stuff. Both of them left the ancient kingdom to explore the world. Joyboy explored the whole world & even the depths of sea where he found a trible of people called fishman. He was friends with the fishman kingdoms Princess. He promised the fishman princess that after he goes back to ancient kingdom he will come back & take them to the land where they can stay forever. When Joyboy and Imu came back to the Ancient Kingdom, they had a major disagreement. Joyboy was all for sharing the wealth and making peace with other kingdoms, while Imu wanted to dominate them all. The ancient kingdom people agreed with Joyboy & disagreed with Imu. After that Imu stole these super powerful ancient weapons and started spreading lies about how the Ancient Kingdom was evil and out to destroy everyone. People believed him, after Imu secretly used these weapons & manipulated the 20 kingdoms in thinking ancient kingdom used the weapons to destroy them and soon there was a huge war. Joyboy tried to stop it, but he didn't want to hurt anyone from the 20 kingdoms, so he couldn't fight back effectively. In the end, he lost to Imu, and the Ancient Kingdom fell. This person named Lilly, who was loved by both Joyboy and Imu, found out the truth about Imu's lies. She tried to expose him, but Imu couldn't risk it, so he got rid of her. - Kshitij Savla.

The ideology that the Ancient kingdom and the 20 kingdoms fought over has most likely to do with humanity itself. Considering that Vegapunk is the one that gives the message i think the Ancient Kingdom favored the use of bio engineering vs the 20 kingdoms who opposed it. Vegapunk himself used bio engineering in multiple forms from making devil fruit, artificial blood, gigantification, making new lifeforms and not everthing he did was ethical. Chopper is pretty much the posterboy for the dilemma. An animal with a human devil fruit that experiments on animals and humans simultanously (himself). Oda also went out of his way to show 3 islands with animals that look like test sites. Gaimon's island has combined animals, Ruskaina has giant animals and Lon ring long land has elongated animals or animals with elongated limbs. This corresponds with races like the Minks, Fishman, Giants, Tontatta, Lunarians and the Long arm and Long leg tribes.

I love this theory very much! The civil war that happened within the Ancient Kingdom will make sense why there are 2 types of D's, and why BB will make sense as Luffy's final opponent, which is to overcome the evil that exists within the same group, the evil that seeks malicious power vs the good that seeks responsible freedom. The concept that there isn't a side that is purely good, will be justified if Ancient Kingdom is the one that control the Ancient weapons, because, who else would have the technology to create that kind of power right?

I think the ancient weapons were initially meant to be tools to terraform the planet and remove the red line. The water would then fill the space where the red line was, creating the all blue. Basically, they weren't meant to be weapons, but their destructive power was what they became known for when they fell into the wrong hands.

At the start of Egghead, and at a couple of points throughout, we have been told that Vegapunk requires massive funding and resources to recreate the ancient kingdom's technologies. Let us presume this expense was just as true for the ancient kingdom. The WG gets their resources via colonial extraction, funneling these resources into the Marijoi and government facilities such as Egghead. Perhaps, the way the WG/20 Kings took down the ancient kingdom was by destroying their supply chains - whatever form those took. They gradually destroyed their ability to produce these advanced technologies. What quicker way to go about this than flooding the land? We know Imu currently has access to a weapon which causes the oceans to rise. Perhaps the initial destruction and the rising sea levels caused by this weapon were enough to defeat their technological advantage.

My guess is that the ancient weapons were created by the ancient kingdom. The mother flame is a poor substitute for the energy source used by the ancient kingdom and weapons otherwise imu would have used Uranus to raise the water lever to cover everything. Joyboy not sure yet if he wanted to use the ancient weapons or trying to keep them out of the twenty kingdoms hands.

My two cents: we don't even know if the original Joy Boy was the "good guy" in this war. His successor Luffy certainly has a lot of good qualities, but he is also selfish, prone to solve problems with violence, and emotional. But Luffy has a lot of good people around him that help him temper that. The first one is Shanks who thought him not to fight about banalities. Later Vivi calls him out when he wants to fight the people of Drum after they shot him, because he endangers Nami's life with this. And what's interesting is that Shanks is maybe a world noble, and Vivi's family was part of the initial 20 kings who fought Joy Boy. Imagine Luffy without the guidance of Shanks and Vivi, because he is fighting them. It's also interesting to think about Roger and his legacy. Gol D. Roger was by all measure an great man, beloved by even his enemies (if they knew him closer). But h also brought untold suffering on this world by starting the Golden Age of Piracy. There were probably countless villages and towns that got destroyed because of him, and many humans and merfolk were captured ans enslaved. We see in the flashbacks of young Whitebeared how life is on a island outside the World Government system, and it's brutal. So I think neither side was right or wrong, and both escalated the conflict more and more. Maybe Joy Boy became the first pirate and inspired many others to do like him, causing violence and suffering around the world. The 20 kings unite against this, and react with oppression and violence to bring back stability. Which causes Joy Boy to fight them and sow more chaos, which makes the Alliance more oppressive and so on. In the end he entire world loses.

I think that the fact theres 3 weapons has been a major hint all along. Nobody can agree who they belonged to. I always just took it as weapons used during that time, almost as a 3rd party. With this new information my idea has shifted. There was the ancient kingdom, the 20 kings who may have rebelled against the original kingdom. And joyboy hating all of that travevelled the world, meeting all the unique races, and finding out the war will destroy the world. So joyboy and his crew went to stop it. And failed. Or werent able to completely put an end to it

I love the idea of the dichotomy of the ancient kingdom and would like to add my two cents to it. How about we put a little bit of Lord of the Rings in it? What if like Sauron did to the elves and Numenor Imu infiltrated the ancient kingdom and got them to create the very tools of their own destruction? Since we now know that Nika and Joyboy were two distinct entities, I've been finding it curious that the Elders are calling Luffy Nika and not Joyboy. I would assume that if the Elders and Joyboy were contemporaries and he was their greatest opposition they would draw the parallels between Luffy and him and not Nika. This got me thinking what if Imu and the Elders were an ancient evil even back in the days of the Void Century whose existence goes back to the days of Nika. Back then they ruled and enslaved the world as the myths say until Nika cast them down and liberated their slaves. The ancient evil would be akin to Melkor and Imu would either be Melkor himself or a lieutenant like Sauron. Those slaves Nika liberated and their decendants went on to form the ancient kingdom. 900 years ago Imu arrived in the ancient kingdom, corrupted it and had it create the ancient weapons while at the same time building up the 20 kingdoms as the opposition to destroy Nika's legacy. And in the end the corrupted ancient kingdom like Numenor was sunk underneath the sea. The 20 kingdoms would have been nothing more than cat's-paws, which would explain why Imu has had the CD drowning in debauchery ever since. They are nothing more than useful idiots.

Joy boy became a pirate. What did he steal from who and why did he turn to the sea. My first thought is that joy boy stole a treasure from the ancient Kingdom, a weapon so devastating that could control or befriend all the ancient weapons. I believe that treasure was once held by the fishmen Kingdom before it was given to the ancient Kingdom that was the sun god nika fruit. Now, why was he an outlaw? I believe that vegapunk, ceaser clown are a reflection of imu and the gorosei. Obsessed with science, but at the cost of the Kingdom, joy boy might have fought politically but found out that these scientists are dirty. Leaving him one choice to eat the famed sun god nika fruit but became an outlaw taking to the seas. I believe the original leaders of the ancient Kingdom was fair but a ruthless brother took over. I believe that the line that leads to blackbeard a reflection of that is oden and the shogun. There's more, but you get the gist😂

Global warming was happening due to the ancient kingdom's technology, mass industry, and farming tactics. They could control the weather within their kingdom while the rest were overpopulated, dealing with rising temps and drought. The rest of the kingdoms wanted the climate technology and barriers to protect themselves too, but the ancient kingdom refused and wanted to keep the technology from being everywhere knowing that it would absolutely be used for warfare given the greed and corruption of some of the kingdom rulers. Some kingdoms sided with the ancient kingdom, not wanting their rivals to have any of it, while others allied to take on the ancient kingdom and take the technology. A prototype atmospheric water generator used the ancient version of the mother flame's sun-like energy to convert air into water. It was transformed into a weapon that became damaged, resulting in it going haywire and flooding the world over time. Ancient kingdom took into account the damage it could cause if it was unlimited (unlike Vegapunk) and made it to fizzle out. But by the time it did, the world was already flooded.
