you can have some really good moments on this game, just the other day i was playing as the british paratroopers on a nighttime map and i managed to sneak past enemy lines and find a house with a german mg team and after bayonetting the gunners, i took the mg and raked their entire defense from behind probably swaying the game in our favour ;)))

Hey man, nice and well edited video. I bought RO two months ago, after playing RO2/RS for years. I love this game in many ways, including the things that you mentioned, but I would like to highlight on more thing, the historical accuracy, which is important I think. It adds a lot to the immersion and it reminds us of the work that was put in the game. Hope to see you on the battlefield! :D

You must be one of the 5% autistic of the entire DH community who enjoys the dumb Amish game modes with huge maps like kasserine with 10 ppl.. DH always had the problem of the armored server that absorbed the player base of the official information servers, but 23 with its stupid server full of lag and packet loss that cannot support more than 30 people, brought something much worse than that and will make DH dies much faster. Also along with the abusive and woke moderation of that paraphilic Basnett.

One match on rederitz we were defending from the poles. We had got pushed back to final cap but i told my squad to stay at house infront of the final cap. It ended with my final stand against a sea of poles. This turned the game around and we won. Felt like one of those war stories you hear of or like a CoD mission.

Excellent video! With regards to movement speed, DH strives for combat realism vs. a lot of FPS games which give players almost superhuman physical powers. Consider that the average infantry soldier in WWII was carrying 60-80 pounds of gear. Movement speed in DH reflects that both in your rate of movement and in that you run out of breath, slow down and have to pause to recover your stamina when you sprint for too long.
@nohud_
@nohud_ Жыл бұрын
thanks! glad you liked :) And I agree, but plenty of modern games striving for realism have faster running speeds. I think it's a product of the time - 2008 was a different era for FPS's. Think about the Battlefield series and how much slower paced the movement and gameplay was in BF2, 2142, or even BC2, compared to now. I prefer the slower speed though, its more realistic like you said, especially about the stamina.

@moredistractions IDK if you say that because you're kidding or because you haven't played enough, but the movement and damage system in DH is as arcadey as any COD-type FPS, for the main reason that if you get shot in the torso, legs, armas (or even in the head) in DH: 1. You don't bleed to death and die after a while like you would in real life. 2. You will continue running as if nothing despite having a bullet inside your body (so it is like the same as the regenerative health of COD). Or has it ever happened to you that you shoot a guy and hit him several times and he quickly turns around and kills you usually with an allied OP smg? Is that what you call realism? Even in RO1 when you get hit you can't move for a few moments, which isn't very nice but it's much more realistic, but in DH that feature was removed. In addition to that the damage of the kar98 and many other weapons was ruined, generally on the German side, since the dumb devs of DH have a preference for the allied side (like all woke leftists) And what you mentioned exists in all FPS, and there is practically no FPS in which you can sprint without having to stop to rest. True realism would be if you ran more or less according to the weight you carry, but in DH you can carry a bazooka, 2 satchels, 2 nades, 1 wire cutter, 1 smoke nade, 1 pistol, and a BAR, and you will run at the same speed as a guy who carries only a kar98 or a smg. Obviously developing that would be almost impossible for DH devs who are amateur people who just learned how to model things in blender (like enfield who only knows how to draw penis-shaped bananas in blender).

@@dark_nation_7 I don't think so, with that attitude of abusively banning people just because you're too sensitive (like every leftist lgbt woke), you'll just make sure people stop playing this game. You banned me from official discord just because you felt like it and you couldn't even give a reasonable reason, and without any warning, and being a regular player with 1000 hours. Even "realtalk" when he was insulting everyone received several warnings, but you didn't give me any, and I didn't insult anyone, didn't talked about politics or whatever (and if I posted a screenshot of the google translator with the Spanish translation of the word f*g*ot, a word that realtalk often used without being banned, it was to shut the obese ass of that stupid sotovich, who, since he suffered from a mental retardation was maliciously accusing me that one of my ingame names means f*g*ot, which is not true). And in that same way you have banned a lot of people in the game, and in that way, and if you continue to contaminate the game with your woke leftist ideology, you will only make this game more dead than it already is (and in fact is deader since when you screwed up the voting system by preventing a map from being replayed, even if that map was played several hours ago).

I wish more games were like this. Less arcadey like Call of Duty and not extremely hyper-realistic to the point of being unfun like in Squad. Sometimes I just want to be immersed in a warzone without the need to give 110% and be forced to engage with other players.

@mrdoubleyew6340 In DH you don't feel like you are a turret, it feels like you are arms floating in the air, in fact that literally happens when you grab a thomson, shotgun and some allied weapons created by the DH dev team, as you can see In a second 2:28 And it doesn't just feel that way visually, it's a sensation that you're arms floating in the air like a generic FPS, also the camera seems to be very low, like you're 50cm above the ground, like in DOD1, and DH is from 2008 supposedly, but it feels like a game from 2000. That's why this game shouldn't have such huge maps, for that you need to add other features to make the game feel immersive and not feel like you're not arms floating. Ww2 online which is much older than DH is better in that regard, and you can look to the sides and it gives it an immersive feel as a Arma. And that weapon falling off the ground is a feature of the base game, RO1, so you shouldn't mention it as a DH feature. And in RO1 it feels that way even more, because to pick up a weapon then you have to pick up its ammo separately, but in DH you magically grab the ammo when you pick up a weapon, and it feels totally run and gun like any fps.
