I like setups like this. Gives you all the flamboyance of a top mount turbo kit, all the loud sounds and shiny parts sticks out while maintaining oem functionality. Good job from Vargas.

@@DragpackRacingyo brother sorry to say but VTT been had these kits DONE for about a Year+ now. These kits starting production about 2-3 years ago. So no buddy, VTT did not steal your idea. I personally installed the first test kit on VTT’s Shop 340i a Year+ ago

@ really buddy ik the guy that makes the kit do you?? I can show you the original messages from over 2yrs plus!! My kit is a production kit . It doesn’t take that long to make a kit. The manifold for the this kit isn’t any different then there first kit that flopped. Only difference is the 60mm wastegate that don’t exist couldn’t even get that right. I also know when they started working on it I’ve been known. Like I said I have the evidence to back it up don’t care if you don’t believe. There’s a reason my kit works and there’s doesn’t and why mines still twin scrolls and there’s isn’t. So sorry about your luck you think you know but you don’t sorry. Oh I can also show you the messages where the person apologized a said sorry that’s how the world works. This isn’t first or last of my ideas to be stolen one the years but I’ve def learned a lot. It’s crazy people will think the earth is flat no problem. But won’t believe a bigger company would steal a smaller company’s idea 🤣. Only if you really knew.

@@DragpackRacing ok so you have the very first production kit, and just got it installed recently. While I had the 1st VTT B58 Gen 1 production kit on a year+ Ago lol. And oh yeah that’s for the Gen 1 B58, they already BEEN had their B58 Gen 2 kit on their shop Supra before I even started working there. There’s a big difference between you and VTT. VTT been had these in production and did all their testing that’s needed and never said a word about it, while people like you try to go out and show the whole world that your the “first”. When in reality, you aren’t. Crazy how someone can steal your idea when no one even knew who you are nor knew you had that idea. Also I highly doubt you have the connection VTT Does, they needed a custom bracket made for the straight gate to mate to the stock EWG. And a couple other things other people wouldn’t be able to make/source. He had custom CNC machined brackets made after he got them designed, and they work good. How did you make the EWG connect to the straight gate on your setup?

Glad to see that Vargas wised up and used precision turbos for the kit instead of trying to make their own, I’m sure that would have gone about as well as their GC+ turbos

We have been doing this kind of set up with S58 and S55. Single turbo kits but with factory boost control and no controller. Works awesome and boost control is perfect. I wouldn’t bother with the traditional style external gates anymore.

Love seeing new shit like this. Always awesome to have more options that work like with OEM equipment. Now tuners need to decide if this falls under OEM/Hybrid turbo pricing since its oem wastegate controlled.

Do a video on full frame bottom mount vs Top mount. I’d imagine making the runners that much longer to go top would effect the response and time in general it takes to make boost in the rev range?

I encourage you to look at 4N Motorsports as well. They were out on plug and play kits for 1k+hp before Vargas was.

This may be a stupid question but I’m wanting a 440i, do you still need charge pipes then if you upgrade the turbos I don’t know too much about it

As soon as you start changing boost pressure, you change the charge pipe. Stock charge pipes are often made of plastic that will not hold up to increased boost pressure.

Kevin, can you explain, why is it that top mount kits on the B58 mostly do away with the MAF sensor, but stock location kits keep it? How is it that the car can run without it?

because there's no space. the MAF sensor is redundant anyway. not really needed, it's mostly for checks at low load/cruising.

@ thanks brother. I get there’s no space just couldn’t understand why all of the intake systems for stock location include it as if it’s necessary then top mounts just ditch it. I’ve seen a few people make little downturns for their top mounts, the KZbin guy with the silver top mount Supra comes to mind (I forget his name but the one that had the bad gas issue lol). Thanks for explaining.

@@y00h000 yeah just more "plug and play" vs having to code it out in a tune. But even with a CEL the car drives fine with the MAF unplugged. Newer cars don't come with a MAF at all

My biggest issue with the kit is that it is not a twin scroll. There will be significantly more back pressure.

These turbos can push so much air into your engine you can stay di but you’re always going to be limiting how much boost you can run as you want be able to supply the full to get the most out of it

Stock engine will not hold what the aftermarket DI injectors are capable of supporting. 800+ wheel stock pistons and rods will not hold that kind of power for very long. So for stock setups which most people are running, you can support those turbos with DI and hpfp which is also another limiting factor. There is already company's make injectors that are out pacing what the pumps can supply. 1k wheel can be made on DI with built motor.

Avoid Vargas at ALL costs. ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRY TO WARRANTY ANYTHING FROM THEM
