Because stuff like this is really only being used by the loud minority Many people(a vast majority) aren't using these avatars or anything anymore. Also most people aren't saying digital is forever. It's digital is the future whether you me or anyone likes it or not Look at floppy dics. CDs. Blu Ray. All of it shifted. Now it's cloud. Most people use streaming services for music. Same with TV and movies. It's just the way it goes. Whether you me or anyone likes it or agrees with it or is even ok with it, but people like you are the vocal minority. Same when people screech about microtransactions. Think it was Forbes or some major outlet who reported recently that about 90% of gamers in the West actually have supported MTX. Or how many hate most EA sports games. I don't play them as I suck at them, but we are the minority. Like it or not but gotta move on in many ways. If it isn't profitable why support it? They are a business first. They aren't your friend. They aren't going to leave this stuff up just cause a loud minority want it. They don't care and if it is practically dead why support it? It's like when a live service game gets shut down. Why don't y'all hold the same mentality? Even if the game sucked there is usually still a minority of players who want it alive. It's still part of video game history.

Just like poverty would stop if the rich all collectively agreed to share their wealth, or racism would stop if everyone agreed to treat each other equally. The issue is that people don’t WANT to go to a store to get physical media, they’d rather buy it on their pc/console and download/play it then and there. Hell most modern pc’s don’t even have disc drives anymore, and the newer consoles have a disc-less option now as well. Like liquid said, physical media is the minority, it really is just the way it goes

​@@Chineseisntalanguageapparentlyyou arent wrong in terms of the 360 games but to be fair all the dlc for asylum and city have been put into the arkham collection so they are safe along with knight so really the only lost content is with arkham origins and that dlc has been gone for years. I think since 2020 so that just left arkham blackgate on 360 thats really the only one that is gone for good now cause you cant play it on series x like every other arkham game so if you dont have a 360 for that game you are screwed thank god i got all the arkham stuff day 1 when they all came out so i didnt have to worry about any of this mess 😂 still i feel bad for people who cant play origins or blackgate though because they werent around to buy them back in the day.

Why don't gaming companies like Microsoft just keep these online stores open and content intact? What could it possibly hurt to allow retro gamers to enjoy older generations of consoles of games if we adore them? Wouldn't that encourage gamer sales if they show us some love for the retro content? I just don't understand their obsessive need to keep trying to bottleneck the fanbases into STRICTLY only consuming the newest and most advanced hard/soft wares. If they're still making money and their profits, does it really matter if it's from the older or newer content?

lost media always pains me, i hate seeing (good) effort gone to waste and being thrown away. old dr who episodes are forever lost, old online games (like matrix online) are gone, nobody can play arkham origins online anymore, etc etc. pains me to see this happen, worst is that people just go "digital is better than physical, online only is fine" no it isn't.

Tip : when you buy a physical game, go to settings turn off internet connection. then put it in your console. If the game is not playable beyond the first 2 hours? Return it to the store. It is your right. They sold you something fake.

I just don't get why it even needs to happen as you said in the video microsoft are worth a lot of money. I mean for fuck sake they brought activision for billions. It's also strange because back in I think 2022 playstation announced they would be shutting down the ps3 store. But after massive pushback they decided to drop it. Now it's probably massive cope but maybe xbox will work on another way to preserve older 360 games after the shutdown. A backwards compatibility 2.0 if you would but the most likely outcome is all these games/ dlc will be lost to time which is devastating. Somewhat unrelated but I hate that I will probably be dead before arkham origins ever gets touched I wish we could get a hashtag or something going I'd give anything to see it come to modern consoles.

Man. This saddens me as that means the Batman Beyond suit is probably gone. I don’t currently have any Xbox systems (own every Nintendo, Sega, and PlayStation console plus PC) but planned to later get Xbox for collection. I wanted the Batman stuff. There’s really nothing else on Xbox I’d be interested in as I don’t care for shooting and sports games and that’s the majority of Xbox games.

One - I'm sorry that really sucks. I will say, there are big strides on the internet to push custom software. If you mod your Xbox and I know that a lot of Avatar items are preserved through that. I don't actually know how to run that software, but I know it's something that you could look into. Secondly, always fun to see a fellow Dragon Ball fan.

Anything you already owned should work. There's custom software if you mod your console to get some avatar items, but I'm unaware if those are all preserved. The same will be true of games, dlc, etc over time. As far as official support though, the redownload option works if it's in your purchase history, or you can put custom themes, music and videos still on the console via usb or in some cases CD.

I think arkham origins blackgate is only avalibel *Legaly* in the 360 and ps vita, and for what have i heard in the vita is quite expensive so yeah I revive my 360 only to see the last days of xbox live on the console and it did cark a simle seeing my old akham city safe file
