Jeff. I have one as well. Small piece of advice, periodically tighten the computer mount. The weight of the camera can jostle it loose over time. I lost my camera in Murrietta.

It's amazing how everything coming back. As an old racer who's stilling doing quick and speedy group/club rides, I have to say that having a 48T big chain is something I had back in the days since the 7 speed race bikes I've had. I have ridden from 48T, 52/42, 53/39. I'm looking now to go for a 52/39. Cuz I'm stilling running 10 speed. But it good to see these type of innovation.. I'm 49 I believe and I can say that a 52 is more friendly for my knees... lol... thanks for sharing. Greetings from Curaçao

A bike that looks fast without moving is a great bike ! I'd personaly prefer a less black-ish/stealth-ish paintjob but I'd still take it xD Good luck to the whole team for the end of this "season" and years to come.

Most race bikes I look at the same way I look at a Ferrari. Cool, fast, would love to take for a spin, but never really want to own. This is one of the few bikes I looked at and actually wanted to have for myself. And when you own a bike that every time you look at it, you describe it as "sexy," that's an amazing feeling. Dmitrij Vladimirov that seems unfair. Sure, fast bikes go fast but Jeff has also had like a million requests for this very sort of video so clearly it has a place. Remember that Jeff was racing and winning on a far less expensive bike and with a smaller and not as strong team. If anything, this video is a statement that if you work hard, race smart and do well that a strong team might bring you onboard and you too can get a bike like this.

Hello Jeff, I'm very happy to see you being properly and deservedly sponsored, and I can't wait to see the amazing content you'll bring us in the future. However, and as a fan of your very solid and consistent speech, I don't like to see you buy in all those marketing claims, like a stiffer BB being faster, or a 10t cog being as efficient. I had the chance to ride that very same model and I loved how it felt, but agreeing with all performance-marketing claims that brands make is a different story. Thanks for all your great content!

Hey Jeff, coming from gravel and mtb racing, road and crit racing is sort of new. Wondering how tall you are to ride a 56cm with a 120mm stem. Do you size down for a road race bike with longer stem to be more aero and to really throw the bike around? 🤘🏼

Looking at that seat to bar drop makes me jealous. Short legs means fully slammed I only get about 5cm unless I want to go crazy with negative stems. At the end of the day I can at least get a position that works for me but it’d sure be nice if it weren’t on the far end of the adjustment range.

Why not just size down a frame to shorten the steerer tube and lengthen the stem to compensate for the reduced reach?

Andromalius with my tarmac in 52cm I’ve got a 126mm head tube. If I could somehow scrunch myself down into fitting on a 44cm frame I’d only be 2.1cm lower in front with a 105mm head tube. I’d also have to deal with the head tube angle being slacked out by 2 degrees in order to avoid massive toe overlap.

The bike is simply gorgeous. Best looking bike in the market. Now my question is: how do I always see totally slammed stems on youtube and foruns with not even all pros are using them like that? Am I doing something really wrong with my bike w.r.t fit? I look at the geometry of the venge and I don't think I could ride such a bike without having a tower of spacers underneath the steam. And I'm rather slim and flexible.

Hey bud, I watch your vids ALL THE TIME now. Thanks for all of your content. Question that I have that I really hope you can answer. I'm not a racer and shoot who knows, maybe one day I will be. I absolutely love cycling and love beating my PRs. I'd like to think I've gone fast, fastest being 55 mph, but I like to go on 20-50 mile long rides... I want to complete a century ride in 2021. Long story short, I'm hearing "Venge is a race bike, Tarmac is a race bike" but in terms of comfort, being 200-210 lbs (yes, I fluctuate because I love beer a little too much and tend to slack on rides here and there) but money aside, can this bike with a 'perfect' fit be the bike for me? Is the tarmac better for me? Can I be on this bike for 2-3 hours at a time with a nice fit and still be comfortable? I'm nervous about getting a 'race' bike thinking it's only for flat riding.... I ride a ton of hills and probably way more so than just flat but I LOVE THE WAY THESE BIKES LOOK AND TO ME THAT'S THE HALF OF IT. Sorry, I got excited writing this. Hope you can help :) and thank you in advance!

1. Stiffness in these big bikes is a small difference, and blind tests have shown people cant tell the difference, in some cases ppl fee the less stiff bikes to be more stiff 2. 53-11 is more efficient than 48-10, small cogs are inefficient from a mechanical point of view

You probably want to change the top cap, if you hit it with your knee, is going to fly off to never be seen again. Saying that, Specialized sells another one that is locked in place by some screws. Jeff, you obviously know how to kick grams off your configuration. I recently been looking at right size frames for my size and sure would like to go for a smaller frame size and a longer stem, but I found it impossible to get the recommended stack height. So I guess you trade things off for speed? Any chance of you sharing your Specialized Venge Pro framesize to personal reach and stack height? Usually the bigger the chainring the more efficient the power becomes. Specialized obviously have compromised this ideal or am I wrong?

I really don't like SRAMs compromise here. The 10T adds drivetrain friction and requires the xdr freehub, which SRAM designed in a way that it doesn't work with Shimanos rear hub bearing arrangement, which i think is the main reason Shimano felt pushed to develop their own microspline nonesense for 12T, segmenting the freehub standards. You can replicate the same wide range with 11T on 12x, as demonstrated by Campy and even sram itself with its cheapest 12x mtb 11-50T 12x cassette which fits on a standart freehub. All the gears whould be bigger, which would reduce drivetrain friction. I hope SRAM offers something like this once 12x drops down to rival and apex. My 11-36T 11x Force cassette offers identical range and everything is cheap and available. Still would love an Force Etap derailleur though.
