I rememeber back in the day people would use transparent maps on glass that was below water and it would let you xray the water since minecraft occludes transparent things behind other transparent things. I wonder if that brings that effect back

@@AnslordMC 1. Why would even begginers want to do a map. 2. It isnt hard at all. Youre able to control video/photo editing, 3d modelling at professional level in a month only. You just have to train, nothing special. I was capable of doing that at the age of 7 (I spent all of my time on the computer when I was little and I always wanted to be a youtuber, thats the reason I learned that at That young age.) Everything is easy to learn and possible. You just need to be dedicated to it.

If you didn’t know, you can make a map and then swap the map file in .Minecraft folder with something you drew of the same size and it works the same way. That’s how I get custom textures and things in adventure maps.

sadly invisible item frames are not possible without commands. if you do this to a normal item frame, you will see the item frame texture stretched across the map (which is still pretty cool)

Another way to get a transparent map is to open a map and then go to a different slot before it has loaded then use a glass pane in a cartagraphy table to lock the map

In 1.20 the glass doesn't erase the map, it just doesn't exist (i did this only in an small scale without resizing), and i was on the stream with that 2x2 jump idea even tho i was an gd player and i had to say it because to do half of the circle, however platform creations exist in GD 😅

Mapartists on servers n’ the one I’ve been playing on have been using this for a while now, and have to say it’s pretty cool yea! It’s not terribly helpful if the server doesn’t have an invisible item frames plug-in, but when they do we have been able to do cool stuff like circular logos, soda bottles, standing png Pokémon, and other decoration stuff like that.

When a map is placed in the item frame, the item frame model stretches to fit the entire blockface instead of its normal size. So a transparent map on it would have a weirdly large item frame, with the doodle or whatever inside, transparent as normal.
