In this interview Brett Smith founder of MyMetabolicLife, discusses his background and passion for metabolic cardiology. He talks about the importance of measuring and tracking parameters such as waistline, CAC score, insulin resistance, to assess overall health and assess risks for chronic diseases. He also introduces a heart health test that can track both disease progression and healing potential. Dave also shares some tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing metabolic syndrome. He also talks about his website, mymetaboliclif.... We talk about a cardiac test that was a way to identify vulnerable plaque that can lead to a heart attack. This test can determine a person's risk of having a heart attack in the next 5 years and can also show how lifestyle changes can decrease this risk over time. It gives a macro view of the body's arterial health and looks at tissue remodeling and repair.
The interview starts with the interviewer asking the guest, Brett, to introduce himself and explain what he does. Brett is a health coach who specializes in helping individuals with metabolic syndrome and other chronic health issues. He discusses his own experience with metabolic syndrome and explains that his goal is to help people understand the root cause of their health issues and make sustainable lifestyle changes. Brett explains that he was given a new heart test that could measure the risk of heart disease and the progress of improvement. The test measures specific inflammatory markers in the blood, such as interleukin-6, MCP-1, and myeloperoxidase, that are not typically tested for in traditional heart health panels. The test also calculates a "heart age" based on the results, showing how much older or younger a person's heart is compared to their actual age.
