Goddamn, I've already seen this series once before on Winter's channel, but couldn't help but watch it again. That control in the first game is fucking insane. I think 99/100 games end with that opener, but Stats was just absurdly clean. Both players played admirably, but it would be hella demoralizing to have your enemy on the ropes multiple games in a row and have them fight tooth and nail back to victory.

About the Immortal-recalling-to-Aiur thing, iirc they're called Immortals because they've been saved from death twice: once as a Zealot recalled put into a Dragoon, and another being moved from a damaged Dragoon to an Immortal.

You know the games approaching BW level of refinement when 90% of the balance updates are simply the map pool. I was worried a couple years ago when things got turned over to the Balance Counsel that the game was the gasping for air... I feel pretty darn good about the state of the game.

My respect to Shin for his thoughtfull strategies. Though he missses something to be the best zerg like Dark or Serral(sheer speed i guess), he clearly would kill almost eveery single opponent with his cheeses. P.S. By the word. I believe in the second round Serral would have had double the amount of creep, SHIN seems to kind of stop spreading creep (no wonder, from my amateur point of view, the top level players' APM is just ridiculous). I think SHIN lost twice due to impatience, pushing too much. Nice match, anyways, thanks to both players and Lowko!

I dunno, I feel like both games came down to Shin just completely throwing hard - and hilariously enough for the exact same reason both times. Should have gotten Queens instead of that baneling nest in game 1, would have helped close the gap and put more pressure on with the creep spread and then WTF was that last attack in game 2 spending so much gas on banes. Sure he got the mineral line but who cares when you have a huge army at your front door that's at least 2 full upgrades ahead of you?!
