I have not watched the Retrospective yet... maybe I'll make a reaction out of it ;) Beautiful soul, I have a wish for you, listen to this songs for as many times that you have to - to let the song/sound fully heal your wounds. just let the sound do the work for you, don't hold back. ;) You of all should know the power of sound. ANGELina has this ability to "channel" the true feeling and sound of the song. It's like she taps into the e s s e n c e of the song, in a way that I don't even the songwriter knew about, little yet the original artist. For me she elevates every song to s o u n d h e a l i n g. I only know of a few other artists who does this, they are a true minority, one of them is AURoRA 🤩🤩 Sound can harm, but it is luckily also the most p o w e r f u l healer All the best from Arctic LoVe Islands, Norway 👋👋✨✨✨✨🌟

I have a theory about AJ. In my opinion she is a generational talent. So many qualities and abilities to point to. However, my theory is AJ sings at a sonic resonance that resonates with her audience. It's beyond tone and phrasing. When you listen to her you feel the music inside you and you go down the rabbit hole without even realizing it. When the song is over you crave more like it ended too soon. I find myself going back and listening multiple times and not get tired of the experience. There are frequencies that effect us and are all around us daily. Her singing touches you and I consider it art in it's highest form.

Exactly!!!! I like that she uses very few instruments to back her up. Seems in the last decade the singers have worn less cloths and so much back up you can’t hear them. I’ve been a musician for over 50 yrs. YoYo Ma says that when a musician can make people feel what they feel , that’s a good musician. Also I love the blues and jazz and the fact that she’s bringing it back. Several kids have commented on her music choices and they actually like it.

I tried using this performance to introduce a bud of mine to our little Angelina. The plan was to start with this song and then, I Put A Spell On You and then Bohemian Rhapsody etc etc, you know. I gave up after my buddy insisted on replaying A Million Years Ago over and over like ten times. The guy was estranged from his elderly mom and this song just broke him. Angelina cuts man.

The summer she was 12 with Ivan Mendez. Every single one of their songs together is a must listen. Just two artists, sitting down and doing what they do. Neither are perfect, but that’s what makes it so perfect and authentic. These recording were never planned ahead. All spontaneous. She would decide what she wanted to sing. Ivan would figure out his part. They might run through it a couple of times. Then one take recording. Unless he messed his part up. Which he admitted happened when he got too engrossed in her vocals. Lol And the Neumann mic was a birthday gift from that year. Great mic. So sensitive. You can hear her breathe

Ivan Mendez was Angelina's (12y) guitarist in LA in 2018. In an interview with Alan Papier on his KZbin channel, Ivan told the story of how the cover's came about. In a nutshell "Angelina doesn't have a wish list of songs, she decides spontaneously if she likes a song. After hearing a song she says great song and has downloaded the lyrics. OK, well, let's start ". Then the cover was recorded in one take, Angelina sang the song here for the first time after her arrangement without rehearsing beforehand. 💯 *AJ* 💯

Once they heard her sing, they called her "Boss." Not just because she was basically their boss but knowing the greatness this girl possessed at such a young age. Not hard to understand the look on his face. We have all had the same feeling at one time or another when listening to her.

Note that the setting is so casual that she has to read the lyrics off a tablet at her side while Ivan just does his best to follow her lead. This was a production ready 'one take' performance that could have gone right to the public for sale.

Imagine being able to slaughter anyone who's emotionally available, to such a crippling extent, and then snapping us back into the reality she had destroyed, with a cute little smile and wave bye. Can you imagine the emotion she will be able to add to these songs once she has actually experienced life gor real (loved and lost, given birth, married, lost a loved one etc?) I can't believe she can improve, but yet she has so much more of life to pour into her performances. This is now one of my favourite songs/performances of any singer of all time and i am a bitter old man in my 50's.

She has actually experienced the loss of loved ones. She lost both her beloved grandfathers. If I remember correctly, she saw her uncle break down in tears on the floor when he received the call from the hospital announcing the death of his father, Angelina's maternal grandfather. She lost a friend, ΛVICII, Tim Bergling, in 2018, with whom she had participated in a Volvo commercial, who took his own life. She lost a family friend, Ari Behn, on December 25, 2019 for the same reason. Each time, she expressed her grief and sorrow by dedicating a song to them in the days that followed. She even composed a song in memory of her maternal grandfather, Million Miles. Not to mention the fear for the health of her grandmother, Mery Zamani, her Pygmalion, who I think, underwent surgery.
