The girl who played Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) was in the hospital for an eating disorder. She was let out to go to a book signing by J. K. Rowling. J. K. @katgreer61138 ай бұрын
@@9709Nick sirius was never meant to be presented as a bad person. No, he's not the best person and he's not really a hero either. Sirius cared for Harry in his own way and sometimes treated him more like a best friend than a godson. Im pretty sure hermione mentions this in the OTP book too. The movie made sirius out to be softer, which strays from the material but it's still good. Book sirius was never meant to be soft in the first place. I think us as an audience are just really used to having main characters or people the main characters love, to be somewhat perfect/"good". nah, some people like sirius will just slap harry on the back and tell him to man up. R.I.P Sirius Black 😭😭Best Godfather him and Harry deserved to be Happy, his death always makes me cry, but y’all’s reaction also had me crying 😭 Sirius Black is such a tragic character he was living an abusive household, his parents were racist and he was so brave he left his family, that’s how he met James, When Sirius found out that Remus was a werewolf, he would turn into a dog to make sure, Remus would calm down when turn into a werewolf, he spent years to turn into an animagus for 3 yrs, then finally mastered it. Then he went to war for 4yrs, and was framed for murder, sent to Azkaban for 12yrs, mentally trying to survive in Azkaban because you shouldn’t be able and after Azkaban your not suppose to keep your sanity and yet he still had his humanity (powerful wizard right there), he only had 3yrs with his Godson (Harry) he wanted to live in the country together, and then the reason why Sirius animagus was a dog because Sirius personality was Bravery, loyalty, caring and gentle, and that’s how dogs are so that was Sirius, and when he escaped Azkaban the first thing he did was checked up on Harry to make sure he was okay 😭😭 As of matter of fact Harry and Sirius were so similar both were abused, and ran away from home, were also both adventurous that’s really sad if you think about it

Things in The Order of the Phoenix novel that are not in the movie; Mrs. Fig is a Squib (a person born from a wizarding family but unable to do magic) who was Harry's neighbor for many years. She was even mentioned often throughout the book series. But Harry never knew that Mrs. Fig is actually part of the wizarding community. Harry actually found out about Hagrid being a half giant by mistake during Goblet of Fire. Hagrid's biological mother, Fridwulfa is a giant. Hagrid's father was a wizard. Grawp is Hagrid's brother by way of their giant mother. Ron's brother, Percy had a falling out with the Weasley family. He never believed Harry's story about Voldemort's return and was on the side of the Minister of Magic. Neville's parents are very much alive and are permanent patients at Saint Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies. Because of all the torture that Bellatrix, her husband and Barty Crouch Junior inflicted on them they are mentally damaged. While visiting Mr. Weasley in the hospital Harry, Ron and Hermione come across Neville and his grandmother and was able to meet Neville's parents. The Weasley twins weren't expelled. They quit school. When Harry won the Tri Wizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire he gave his winnings to the twins. Harry originally tried to give the prize money he won to Cedric's father but he refused to take it. As a result of Harry giving it to the twins, Fred and George started using the money to start a side business and made Harry as a secret investor and silent partner. That is why the twins kept inventing all sorts of magical practical joke sweets throughout Order of the Phoenix. When the Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny and Luna flew the Thestrals the majority of them couldn't see what it was they were flying. Earlier in the school year they did learn about Thestrals in Magical Beasts class when Hagrid introduced them to the students. Those who had witnessed death had no trouble seeing them. But the rest couldn't and all they saw was raw meat being devoured by some invisible entities. When the group flew the Thestrals to the Ministry of Magic to try to save Sirius it was as if they were flying on thin air. They can feel the animals but couldn't see them. In the end of the book when Harry talks to Dumbledore in his office, Dumbledore reveals that the prophecy actually came from Professor Trelawney and it was Dumbledore who witnessed Professor Trelawney make the prophecy while she was in a trance. The prophecy was; "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..." Dumbledore said that two babies were born at the end of July. Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. Though the prophecy fit Neville just the same as Harry because Neville's parents also defied Voldemort three times, it was Harry that Voldemort chose to kill instead of Neville. It is believed that Voldemort chose Harry because Harry's mother was a muggleborn. Neville's parents are purebloods. During the last evening at Hogwarts Harry desperately ran to the ghost of Nearly Headless Nick and tried to talk to him about Sirius possibly coming back as a ghost. But Nick told Harry that the only reason why Nick is a ghost residing at Hogwarts is because he refused to move on to the beyond. He refused to let go and wanted to remain. Nick explained to Harry that Sirius moved on. 📚🪄🔮

I just finished reading the book yesterday & the movie adaption is by far the best. Few points when they’re all taking the test they’re not getting punished they’re doing their O.W.L test which is a test all fifth years take for depending on the future careers they want. Snape was the one who sent the order of the Phoenix to help the DA in the ministry. Apparently when Harry was getting possessed, it hurt so much he wanted Dumbledore to kill him. Sirius did die the “veil” which was the archway he went through which is what killed him. Neville’s parents didn’t die, they’re at a hospital because they’re mentally unable to do anything since they were hit with the cruciatus curse for so long.

I'd disagree, for some reason this is my least favorite and the worst adaptation. Not just because of the director, so I won't put all the blame on David Yates, but because it kinda had to be. As a movie it's generally good, it gets across a lot of the points that it needs to, but the adaptation itself is poor. My biggest criticism is how much they bent the world of magic to make it. Obviously 4 was a worse adaptation cause of the directors dislike for the books, but it turned out to be a great movie in it's own right. This movie has Death Eaters fly, skips the entire Department of Mysteries section and truncates every plot point. Of course it's cause of time they couldn't add everything, but why break the rules of Magic? I'm curious if you read the book first or the movie first. I read the book when I was like 12/13 and read it every year until the end of the series in 2007. All that said, what do you think makes it the best adaptation? I'm very curious :) I'd like to hear your positive points contrast my negative ones. Oh, but I will say that on a positive note, that I really enjoyed how they tackled Thestrals and Hagrid, Luna Lovegood is also great casting and finally, the whole of the Ministry of Magic was visually impressive and a great adaptation.

Then Umbridge tells him that he does not need ink because this is a special quill..his words begin writing somehow with no ink in the color red; the quill is writing it in his own blood. The level of torture this is is just unbelievable. I believe they didn't touch upon this explicitly and instead just implied it because of how dark it is but it explains it explicitly in the books.

The thing I most hated about this movie is they leave out two crucial things. First is petunia getting a howler reminding her of what she did when she brought harry into her household. The second thing is that when dumbledore and harry were talking, you got to know that dumbledore sent the howler and that so long as harry can call the Dursley’s house his home he is protected until he is 17, and Voldemort can’t touch him while he is there. The magic used is one where his mother’s blood resides, in this case his aunt, is the best protection he can have. I believe in the book it says her blood became his refuge.

The part when Harry apologizes to Voldemort in the moment he possesses him makes my heart burst into tears. Understanding about villains means to understand yourself. If you decide not to know about characters and their history you have an isolated life, dwelling in shadows with doubt and minding your own business rather than care for the rest of the world. When you decide to know what it's like to be a villain, especially the broken ones, you understood what negativity they've been through and what chances you accept given to you to help them find their own positive life. One of my most favourite and wisest characters is Uncle Iroh of the Avatar the Last Airbender: "It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others and other elements and the other nations will help you become whole."

I like Luna. Sure she's different and strange but she's a good caring friend and that's something to cherish. Especially with everything that Harry's going through. One thing that people seem to miss, especially if you haven't read the books. There's a couple of times in this movie when Cho is mentioned (in front of Genny) when it comes to Harry and Cho and Genny reacts a little bit to it like she might be a little jealous or something. What these movies kinda overlooks is the fact that Genny has liked Harry a lot ever since they first met. I like the fact that there was a couple of brief subtle hints towards that in this movie even though most people wouldn't notice it unless you have read the books and happen to notice/catch it in this movie. There's 3 more movies and I'm looking forward to seeing the reactions to those movies. The movies are good but the books are what made me love the Harry Potter characters and story.

For those who do not know why Harry's scream for Sirius' death is muted. The real reason why is not just because his agonizing scream that brought the entire cast and producers into heavy tears, but because Daniel Radcliffe's grandmother passed away too soon before they even begin finishing this movie. His scream is real pain instead of acting, so the directors are wise to mute it for him, to offer him deep respect of who he had recently lost. I do understand what it's like to not being ourselves after experiencing who we have lost and how they are important to us. The actress who plays Bellatrix LeStrange (the witch who killed Sirius) is Helena Bonham Carter. You have indeed seen her in Fight Club, Sweeney Todd, and a good number of oh-so-British period films such as Howard’s End. Keep an eye out for her character in the remaining HP films; she’s given quite a lot to do (all of it evil, of course) and her acting performance is Helena at her top-drawer best. One of the rare actors who can throw down pure comedy in between torture and murders, and make you feel all of it. (Gary Oldman - who plays Sirius - is good at that too; see his character in *Leon* aka *The Professional*.)

One thing I wanted to see the movie was more of the rivalry between Umbridge and McGonagall. I mean, all the teachers hated Umbridge, but McGonagall was the one that hated her the most. And she was not shy in expressing that (as you could see). McGonagall even put aside her dislike for Professor Trelawney to comfort her after she was fired. But the highlight of their rivalry and dislike for one another came when Harry had his interview with McGonagall regarding his future after Hogwarts which Umbridge attended. When Harry showed interest in becoming an Auror, a huge argument erupted between Umbridge and McGonagall regarding that, with Umbridge saying that the Ministry would never acept Harry as an Auror and McGonagall promising she would help Harry become one. And when Umbridge became Headmistress, McGonagall (much like most of the teachers) overlooked all the pranking from the students (and Peeves, a poltergeist, on the books) towards Umbridge and even went on to give a little help.

21:35 It's funny about your comments towards Neville and the conversations between him and Harry. In the books, Neville and Harry are so close to exchanging places concerning the story due to the prophecy made by Professor Trelawney years ago when Voldemort was at the height of his power. The reason Neville's parents were attacked, was due to Harry and Neville being born around the same time surrounding the prophecy. Voldemort went directly to Harry while Bellatrix and his followers tortured Neville's parents to the point of madness; a fate, as was mentioned, far worse than death. They're still locked up in the hospital to this day in the story unable to recognize their son.

To be honest, I don't think the building is ACTUALLY moving. I think that we are just seeing the magic REVEAL that the apartment was already there, but hidden from Muggles. In reality it was already built but only Wizards/Witches can find the apartment. If you are not given permission it just LOOKS like the apartment doesn't exist.

My favorite quote in the series is only found in this book and not the movie. It does a wonderful job of explaining how Voldemort couldn’t posses Harry. I’m sure whoever reads it will find meaning within. Dumbledore told Harry: There is a room in the Department of Mysteries, that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all. That power took you to save Sirius tonight. That power also saved you from possession by Voldemort, because he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests. In the end, it mattered not that you could not close your mind. It was your heart that saved you.”

Book explains that muggles usually cannot see magical phenomena or creatures (like Dementors, the clocked gliding figures). So from Dudley's point of view Harry attacked him.

A fantastic reaction as always ladies. I saw this one in theatres and in my opinion, it’s one of the best movies in the entire series and that says something because all of them are great. And yes, just like in the last movie, it’s about to get real. Keep up the great work

She didn't kill Neville's parents. She and her husband, his brother, and Barty Crouch, Jr tortured Neville's parents into insanity. They are alive but spending the rest of their lives in the mental ward of St Mungo's Hospital

The books get into that the child prophecied to beat Voldemort was a boy born at the end of July. It could have been Harry or Neville, but when Voldemort failed to kill Harry and scarred him, he "marked him as his equal". It could have been Neville but for Voldemort's choice.

In the books it was explained, that Fudge didn't (want to) believe the return of Voldemort because he always thought that Dumbledore was after his position as minister for magic, and it's all just a big complot to overturn him.

This series doesn't mention it, but in all the original mythology, centaurs have one thing in mind when they abduct a human woman... The series only mentions that she ends up in hospital with her mind broken. The movie really treats Cho unfairly. It shows her being dragged along roughly by Malfoy, and Snape tells them that they used a truth potion on her. In the book it wasn't even her. The joke about the ending is that we have something that Voldy doesn't have: a nose.

In this movie they introduced very nice characters. Umbridge is so hated, there is a meme somewhere, in which Voldemort kills her, everyone cheers him and elect him the new minister/king of the magic world. (I knew a person in my childhood who looked and spoke like her and that makes me hate her even more) Bellatrix is the coolest of the villains. Good reasons to despise her, but she steals the scene every time she is on the screen. Luna is my favorite character. I wished they had introduced her earlier and gave her more screen time. She is mocked even by Hermione, but she is the kindest, calmest, most insightful in her generation. I think from all the students, she is the only one with the potential to reach Dumbledore level in her adult years.

44:55 People can be very stupid, especially when they want to deny something that can take them out of their comfort zone. They even say this in the books, just with these characters who deny reality, because at the end of the day it is the word of a person, who says that he saw Lucifer and well, it is better to say that he is crazy than to believe him. We as viewers or readers saw it and know the truth, but here the following applies: Seeing is believing. They should read the books, they are very different and much better, they don't know how many things and characters that don't appear

"It's changing out there. There's a storm coming, Harry. We'd all best be ready when she does." Umbridge imposes social distancing. "Students are to be no closer than 8 inches of each other!" And they try to put Dumbledore in Azkaban, after having previously attempted to remove him from office, but they fail to imprison him. What's next?

This is a great movie. It does a good job making you hate Umbridge. The only parts that I don't like are that they could have given you more of the prophecy, because the full prophecy is cool to know about and explains so much more, and Umbridge didn't break into the room or requirement. It's an extradimensional room, you can't bust into it like that, you'd just bust through a wall in normal space into a room in normal space. She caught them in a different way that actually made sense in the book.

Not gonna lie. Whenever I hear Umbridge running her mouth I wonder if there’s a spell for duct tape. Also, since y’all are enjoying the Harry Potter movies I think that a trip to Universal Orlando would be in order post-Deathly Hallows. UO has the Wizarding World of Harry Potter; Diagon Alley in Studios and Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure. The level of detail in both those lands is so on point that you feel like you’re actually there and will bump into Harry, Ron and Hermione walking around the corner. No doubt you take a trip to Universal Orlando and you will be grinning from ear to ear! I promise you that.

It’s a shame they didn’t portray Dumbledore as they did in the books with his duel with Voldemort. The chapter was literally named “the one he was afraid of” or something like that. Dumbledore didn’t mortally wound him out of planning

When Sirius dies, a lot of people watching for the first time don't really believe it, but the killing curse is just too powerful, it can happen just like that and you're dead, literally no one has ever survived it EXCEPT for Harry, that's why he's such a legend among wizards, a spell that never fails to kill people failed to kill a little child.

The intro was really cute ❤ The tshirts look really cool! Dudley was incredibly cruel in the beginning of the movie, even if he did it without knowing the details. Have you noticed the contrast between the 3rd movie and this one? Back then, the Ministry of Magic himself reassured Harry about his innocence for making Aunt Marge huge and now, for simply defending himself and Dudley from the Dementors, he's being expelled. It speaks volumes of just how far the Ministry will go to silence people who don't follow their story. Luna Lovegood is a whole vibe, you already liked her from the very first scene! Umbridge on the other hand...easily one of the most despised characters in the Harry Potter universe. That woman is pure evil just for the sake of being evil. You said it perfectly, Magy, Umbridge is next level delulu with her attitude, especially now that Voldemort returned and everyone needs practice to defend themselves. Huge gaslighter, torturer - Umbridge is ticking all the boxes. The way Dumbledore came out and offered Trelawney refuge at Hogwarts, after being fired - one of the best scenes in the movie by far. Hermione turning into a baddie and you guys cheering is just perfect 😂 While the whole idea of seeing into Voldemort's mind may seem appealing, that can easily be used against Harry, showing him false memories. The scenes between Sirius and Harry are so heartwarming, it's a shame we lost him this movie, the potential development between the two would've been amazing. It's hilarious to see how Umbridge is drawing out Magy's inner Slytherin 😂 In hindsight, maybe naming their group "Dumbledore's Army" wasn't the best idea they could come up with. It certainly came back to hurt Dumbledore but thanks to that, we got to see just how epic he made his exist from Hogwarts. Fuckin Hagrid and the Dark Forest - worst combo ever! At least this time Grawpy is somewhat cute. A big ol' teddy bear! Leave it to Ron to be jealous of Grawpy 😂 You know the actress playing Umbridge did it amazingly well if she managed to ruin Hogwarts for you. Fred and George were the real heroes this time around, they blew Umbridge's beloved order to hell and back! Hermione leading Umbridge into the forest and then seeing her captured by the centaur - top 5 satisfying moments in Harry Potter! Sirius getting killed by his own cousin - his family was his undoing until the very end. The fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort was spectacular but even so, it's hard to enjoy it knowing Sirius died so fast and that in turn deprieved Harry of the only relative he still had and who cared about him, unlike the Dursleys. The movie ending on the happy note rings a bit hollow but Harry's final words to his friends are beautiful and memorable, showing the audience what separates them from Voldemort. Thank you for the incredible reaction and for that passionate post reaction talk ❤

I hate the fight beetween dumby and voldy… I mean the animation is really good but its too different from the book! And i dont speak about the spell which is fantastic… I speak about the signification ! In the books there are ni spell to counter « Avada kedavra » that give a huge avantage for dark user but dumbledor use the statue to protect harry and himself from the green Lightning! Even Fumseck come to eat one death spell and save is master… Nevertheless what ever Voldemort did, he never win! Dumby has a real advantage! He is untouchable even by the greatest dark wizard! That s why he go into potter mind… Cause he is the only reason to touch Dumbledor!
