This Buckets of Wings Challenge in Kentucky Had NEVER Been Attempted!

My mom told me years ago that the stores used to throw away the wings bc no one ate them and now its the most expensive part of the chicken. I personally love the flats better than the little leg part.

The flats are the best part if you know how to debone them. Katrina could have saved at least ten minutes if she had done that. I also heard that chicken wings were thrown away. Although, I suspect the big processors used them to make chicken stock and whatever was left over after boiling them was thrown away. Also, skirt steak used to be ground into inexpensive hamburger meat before fajitas became popular.

When I was just married, we bought wings for about 65 cents a pound to make homemade chicken noodle soup. Then the Buffalo Wing craze hit, and the cost of wings shot up and they seem to keep on going. They are really the worst buy of the chicken because of the large amount of bone to meat ratio, but that bone is what gives flavor.

They are NOT legs. It's the "base" part of the wing called drumette.

Although when ketchup isn't available, it's albino condiment cousin by marriage is a good option for fries😉. Silly that you chose the spicy buffalo wings. You know eating the fries alongside the rest of the food or even first is an increasingly popular strategy among pro eaters. Don’t know what it says about my 2024 that I know that. A year well spent! Here’s to 2025!! 🎉 Chicken wings are like the original technique food, so it’s a good benchmark to see how Katina does with them. Temperature cold and spicy hot is definitely one of the worst combinations though, so I’ll factor that in. Great job Katina! Hard spicy work, but you did it. Wing technique, stripping flats in one go saves time. Not going with hot wings on a challenge saves many things. Personally I get the suicide six wing challange. Or 100 wing volume challange but combining both heat and volume.. You came, you saw you conquered!
