Tighten setscrews wherever you want, loosen back and take a 1/4" drill and add couple dimples, reset your drum...

I'm sure a tool and die maker could make a jig up where you slide a shaft through a hole and the cutter is at a fixed position and powered by a cordless drill. Kinda like a pipe cutter hole saw tool.

Cable tensioners should help or fix

I do commercial maintenance and we always have the cables coming off the top somehow. What’s the easiest way to put it back on? I thought taking the set screw off the “cone” and winding it back until tight would be fastest. But if it has a key way, that won’t work unless key is removed and reinserted? Hope that makes sense. If you have a video that would show me an easy way, let me know! Please! Winding the cable backward and hitting the hole, isn’t always the easiest.

If the solid shaft isn't slotted for a key you could drill into the bar a little bit then set screw has something to bite into

If there was a keyway all the way across and you used a key to time everything wouldn't the cables have to be exactly the same length and if the floor wasn't perfectly level etc. how would you compensate for any differences?
