Just passing along an update: I bought the Ergo3D about 17 months ago and still using and loving the chair. Lots of hours working (and playing) in this chair and it still doesn't show wear and tear, it is still supportive and still gives me hours and hours of pain-free computer desk work. Thanks Ahnestly for a great recommendation (and the affiliate discount was a nice bonus).

I’ve had this chair for two years and really like it. My only complaint - about any chair, really - is that I like to sit where my desk and arm pads end up being lined up and I wish I could move the armpads out of the way completely so I can get closer to my desk without having to reach forward in juuuuuuust the right amount where my trapezius muscles stay slightly under tension for a long time.

Dude! So glad you mentioned that foam pad at the front of the seat of the chair. NOBODY ELSE DID. I had purchased this chair last month. I used it for about 2 hours TOTAL, and then disassembled and boxed it to return/refund. My main gripe was that foam pad that was digging into my under-thighs, which is NO BUENO for circulation. I'm 5'11"(160lbs)...and that really killed my short experience with this chair. ...and you're also the only reviewer who pointed out the height difference between the smaller casters and the rollerblade casters. When I first assembled the chair, I installed the rollerblade casters. But when I sat down, with the lowest seat height, my shoeless heels were not on the ground. My toes were touching the ground, but not my heels...which again is bad for circulation. So I replaced the rollerblade casters with the cheap hard plastic casters, then my heels were able to firmly rest on the floor. Again, NONE of the other video reviews for this chair mentioned either one of those issues(which really ruined my experience with this chair). In the future, I'm just going to test chairs IN-PERSON...or read your reviews instead. You totally nailed this review. Wish I would have watched it before purchasing this chair. So yeah, anybody shorter than 5'10"(without shoes) may need to place something under their feet if they seek to have a proper 90-degree bend in the knee while sitting. I was so disappointed in this chair, as I was REALLY hoping that I would love it. The third thing that killed my experience was that I couldn't rest completely upright. I need a chair that I can lean back into, but still completely upright...because I need that posture for much of my work(8 hours per day). So would you happen to know chairs off-hand that would work for someone about 6ft in height, and 160lbs...where I can rest in a perfect upright position...and has better leg circulation(no hard foam digging into under-thighs)?

One of my biggest problems with mesh chairs is that they eventually warp and lose support. Of course, padding crumples and loses support over time, too, but at least there's something solid underneath to support your weight once it wears down. There's gotta be a way to replace the mesh or fix it throughout the life of the chair.
@Ahnestly2 жыл бұрын
This makes a lot of sense. I think this is why Herman miller uses a frame and then drops another frame with mesh on it on the Aeron - so they can replace it easily. But its also 6x the price…

@Ahnestly2 жыл бұрын
What is budget $$ to you? Right now, prices of everything has gone up due to logistics mess. Bringing a container overseas costs 4x what it did before (heard this from some friends I have in the industry) :-/
@fragmentalstew2 жыл бұрын
Under 300. Maybe even under 200. But I've heard the same thing about freight prices, from someone in the industry. Still, it seems like prices on a lot of chairs have risen by much more than just the cost of freight, materials, or inflation. One example, the autonomous ergochair recline went from $200 to $600. This nouhaus is a steal in comparison. But many budget and non- budget chairs seem to have risen in cost significantly. It makes sense that freight costs would cause a greater percentage increase of the total cost of a budget chair.

I just recently purchased the Nouhaus Rewind chair and I wanted to love it so much, but I have pretty long legs for someone who is around 5'6"/5'7" and the seat depth kills the back of my thighs because there is so much of a gap. The design is very similar to the Ergo 3D, but it has an added foot rest. The chair is so comfortable and all the features are great, but I will be returning it because of the problem I am having with the seat. I hope that they improve this in the future because I am so sad that it didn't work out for me. Great products, great customer service, great company...but not for people with longer legs, at least not long term. Wish I saw this review before I made the jump to purchase. lol

Then I noticed after it had already been delivered, that Amazon had a “frequently returned item” notification on the page. Now I’m wondering if it’s being returned because people don’t feel that it’s worth the full price they bought it for, it’s just not a good chair at all, or is defective? It’s still in the box, but yea.. that’s hell of a discount I got it for. I am within the height range you mentioned, but I’m around 180-190ish lbs. One thing I'll give Secretlabs, their support has been nothing but fantastic with sending out replacement parts in Australia. However, I will be replacing my secretlabs chair with an office-style chair, I've read more reviews about how something like the Ergolux Elliot ($299 aud) actually lasts a long time, and supports the weight it claims. I've learned, $$$ and influencer shills don't = quality.

Stay away from Ergo chairs! They don't even have a customer service department! The products don't last and you'll be left hanging without recourse for service or support. I wasted my money!

Is that a BUDGET chair over there? Here is costs a wooping US$ 1500 / 1950 over here. I'm on the same boat as @kivron, but in a different country lol I'm a bit late on the comments, but just come here to check what you had to say. Thanks for the review. I got my eyes on a "local" clone of the Ergomeister FAEZ8ERG.

no way you just called a $369.99 chair "budget"

MANY chairs go all the way up to $2,000+, so relative to that, yeah, I'd consider it budget.

@@Ahnestly $2,000+ that price range it's more enthusiast/business tier rather than baseline. I'd stop the budget tier at the hyken price

@@DudeInTheNude you'd be surprised...I'm an affiliate with all these chairs, including the hyken, and the $2,000 chairs sell significantly better than the $200 Hyken. Although, since this video, I've found a couple good chairs in the

@@Ahnestly Ah well that's fair. Thanks for the insight man. My main issue with budget being tossed around a lot is it kind of muddies the water when actually looking for stuff in the budget-er budget end. Seeing like "oh hey this might be good" then clicking the link and having a reality check.

if you have a discount code to the company you’re reviewing, i no longer believe what you say.
@Ahnestly8 ай бұрын
I can see why you’d think that. This video was not sponsored (they didn’t give me money in exchange for a video. They did not have any say or input into my video). I am an affiliate, and as a standard approach to all their affiliates, they give us a discount code to share. I understand you may think I’m just shilling to earn commission, but you can look at my entire body of work to see I’ve never let an affiliate program get in the way of speaking candidly about a product. Affiliate marketing is my way of keeping these high quality reviews free for everyone.

There are a lot of people who come up with little rules like that for who they don't trust or trust that sound good on paper, but once you start adding all of that up you end up not being able to trust anything. The better approach is just to take that into consideration and have a diversity of inputs. Could some kind of affiliate program or relationship subtly affect the review process? Sure. But so do other factors. So does anecdotal and personal preference. There are always biases no matter what - it's just more sensible and pragmatic to look at more opinions in that case, not just take the reductionist approach of "I no longer believe what you say", especially since you are tossing the baby out with the bathwater given all the relevant info in this video and others.

$300+ is considered a 'budget' chair? according to who, donald trump? 🤣

Chairs range from 30 to $2,000, so not sure what you’d like me to call it! And $30 chairs aren’t real chairs. It’s landfill!
