Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today we get some CRAZY GOOD results with this time healer build known as Steward of Eternity that just came out with Chapter 2 on Project Ascension Season 8! This build seriously surprised me with an extremely aesthetically pleasing playstyle that also happens to be extremely strong and quite easy to play.
In this video we push our first key to +20 and do pretty amazing during our run and we do it within the first 6 hours of playing this spec for the very first time! I picked this up a few days ago, and so far have enjoyed it quite a bit. It's your general standard ST healer, with a few AoE twists. One of the biggest bonuses is that you can get everything you technically need at level 1, of which I honestly feel like most/if not all builds should have that kind of access. I hate running build...attempts -- in the hope of getting the defining skill of that build, only to not get it. Apart from the old Cauterizing Flames, none of the healer specs felt uniquely good. I'm hoping they don't nerf this healer spec considering the state of healing options. Though, I do wish there would have been a 1.5-3min CD ability to hit 5 players with align -- giving a reliable group heal baked into the build. - Marzog

Hey Mcdoubles. If you happen to read this, I was wondering if you would consider making videos for optemised versions of your builds on area 52 where you go indepth with the goal of the build's play style and give a layout of the main dps rotation. I bring this up cause i love watching your stuff but i struggle to follow the builds for some reason. I might be thinking about builds on ascention wrong, but i used to play pvp in retail and would watch build guides that lay out the spec choices, gear and, most useful to me, the ability rotations. I was able to figure out the core of a build mostly from the key rotations and could then improve or diverge as i saw fit, but i have no idea what to do in ascension having so much choice and so little guideline. Ofc this probably isn't for everyone so if the market for videos like this isnt there, that makes sense.

Been a watcher for a while and wanted to ask, is there any possibility you could do a video on what to do/tips for when you get your first level 60? Such as - how to start efficiently gearing, tips for making money, the ways you can progress through Ascension's ME system; that sort of knowledge but in-depth. I think it'd be a mega helpful video and it's the type of content that's missing for the server. Just a thought that you're free to ignore, will still be watching regardless! - Tambelsa

I wanted so much this spec to work. Then I tried it, figured out Impeccable Timing procs Missile Barrage via Align kinda often so your Synchronize is faster...but it still feels kinda gimmicky and basically the Champion of Justice Resto Shaman build with Frugal Disposition is still the way to go if you want to heal big. If they gave this spec a way to spread your stacks in aoe fashion instead of casing Align or Time-bind, then it would probably be the build to go.

Main weakness of steward that I've noticed is that if you don't pick up all the higher level aoe healing spells you're extremely limited in that capacity. Pushing for mass eternity procs burns through mana hard and if you're forced to do that you're not building up a lot of stacks to get big eternities and instead stuck with weaker ones that more often than not trigger either too soon or too late as you struggle to dump your energy pool as quick as possible. :3 Imo, if the spec had a way of applying the align buff in an aoe even for only 2 seconds it would improve it greatly as it would allow you to react more effectively to aoe damage spikes instead of having to pray that nothing happens back to back while you're attempting to push the limits of eternity.

I've been wanting a Metamorph tank build since I started ascension and the vampire lord theme is right up my alley too, but I am happy to see some of the mainstream build variety going on now. It is so so so annoying that they went with stupid shadowbolt for the vampire healer. Why not finally make real good drain life and then transfer that life to friendly targets healer. Why it always has to be casted spell, why not allow us to have channel healer... :( >Rambling versio, bellow is easier to read versio< Basic idea what I would love is that you use Drain life (bloody red dripping animation(unchained aoe drain life enchant works to gain stack much faster)) to drain health from targets to collect (stacking buff on yourself) and leave corruption (new skill with fitting name I have not figure out yet) to every target you drained atleast 50% of the channel (haste increases the speed of channel), then use haunt that no longer goes enemies, instead it spreads to the main friendly target and 3 other (lowest hp) targets and adds visible haunting ghostly figure spinning around the target or something like what Shadowmourne had as a effect (or even better would be visible thin (add somekind color) link between the vampire healer and the targets with the haunt casted on that stays until target goes too far (30 yards)/duration ends (10-15sec) and then you can channel drain soul (new name, icon and so on) which automatically targets on the targets with haunt link and channels transfering the life stacks you have collected with drain life. If those stacks run out then you transfer your own health to the targets as a sacrifice and gain shield for every lost HP + debuff for every lost % HP = 1sec of debuff (debuff activates after you end the channel and for the duration of that debuff you are not able to transfer your own HP to friendly targets + drain life takes percentage of the drained life for your HP which also reduces the gained shield but heals your character) shield gains duration 0.5 sec on every tic so basically you will always lose half of your transferred HP when using own HP to transfer. Beacon of light transforms into "Chosen Vessel" (duration 6 sec) which you can put on 1 friendly target and corruption skill you leave with drain life will transfer energy to the Chose Vessel target when 10 yards or closer giving the Chosen Vessel target small amount of shield every second (haste affects the rate and crit affects the amount (when corruption crits on target)). Life tap changes into healing spell that heals "X" amount (costs mana). Drain mana turns into aura that drains every nearby living thing (even friendly targets and critters) showing vanity debuff icon about being drained even tho nothing really drains (just for the RP) Drain mana aura has 20 sec CD and drains mana from all living things (as a RP element) over 10 sec restoring 20% of players mana back. Vampire healer has to be in modfied Shadow Form and cannot use healing spells other than modiefied Beacon of Light (Chosen Vessel). Form look could be something like character wearing bat wings (see retail wow) or have vampire skin from the Shadowlands expansion or if possible then use updated male/female succubus skin when in the form or have blood dripping effect on the character etc, main thing is that Shadow Form is not the basic skin since it does not fit the theme and removes transmog possiblities etc. >Easier to read versio< Long confusing text so here is short versio: - Drain life = transfer life from enemy targets (player gains stacking buff) and adds corruption on targets (after 50% of channel). - Corruption = does dmg and transfers "x" amount of that dmg to the Chose Vessel target as a shield. - Chosen Vessel (Beacon of Light) = on 1 friendly target, gains shield when 10 yards or closer to the targets with Corruption. Duration 6 sec. - Life Tap = Heals target and uses gained (Drain life stacks) to heal more and use less mana for 1 use of the skill (emergency single target heal but takes half of the Drain life stacks). When there is no stacks it AoE heals whole party but is not mana efficient (heal to get party HP back up after combat ends). - Drain mana = Aoe aura that collects mana from all living things (Vanity debuff on critters/friendly targets etc, does not take their mana and does not require targets to have mana) 20 sec CD 10 sec dura and returns 20% of mana over the duration. - Haunt = castable on main friendly target and 3 lowest HP targets within 30 yard radius of the caster. Leaves clear visual indication for healer who has the Haunt. Duration 10-15 sec. Link breaks if buffed player moves further than 30 yards of the caster. - Drain soul (needs new name) = transfers gained (drain life) stacks as a health to the targets with Haunt automatically (no need for targeting, just press the skill). If stacks end then transfer casters health and gain (debuff). Transferring own health is twice as powerfull. Channeable while moving. - Drain soul (debuff) = transfers casters HP into shield (1=1) and and 1 sec duration for each % of HP transferred (max 100% transfer = dead caster and 100 sec (debuff) duration). Ignores all incoming healing other than Drain life and Life Tap. Drain life will take "x" amount of the healing stored in the stacks (buff) to heal the caster. Every health caster gains via Drain life reduces same amount shield gained from the (debuff). (If caster has lost health already then other healing sources can heal that lost amount but the shield amount can be healed only by caster itself. During Drain soul (debuff) caster cannot transfer own life to the Haunt targets. (Idea is to have powerfull sacrifice that heals alot but longer caster uses it, longer it takes to be used again and greater is the chance for the caster to die + next normal transfer from the stacks is less effective). - Drain soul (debuff shield) = increases (1=1) as the HP drops. Duration = 0.5 sec for every % lost (half the duration of the Drain soul (debuff)). Ends also if caster gains back all lost health or takes enough dmg to lose the shield. After caster lose the shield then Drain life will stop transfering % of stack gain into casters HP and transfers everything fully to the stacks (buff). There could be Epic quality enchant like: Blessing of the Sacrifice buffs next Chosen Vessel to gain alot health from the every dmg source (Vessel target) takes. Like 50% of all damage the Vessel takes is healing. Buff lasts 6 sec after taking dmg (CD 1 min). It's pretty confusing idea for Vampire Drain life healer but definitely unique as well. And finally a healer that does not hard cast anything. Everything is instant/channelled and healing rotation needs lil bit thinking because best healing comes from draining enemy targets and during that time you cannot heal + if you don't channel atleast 50% of the channel duration then targets wont have corruption which helps Chosen Vessel target (usually tank). You also have to think when and how long you channel and what you channel + keep short buff up on tank. All skills also benefit from the original skill talents / enchants etc so you don't have to build basic holy priest/pala spirit healing build to support the enchant, instead you wanna focus on the warlock and shadow priest stuff. Heck even something like Vampiric Embrance and Devouring Plague could be something to add for the build with additional Epic enchants.

All I want is a theme that feels fun and unique. To me having a vampire lord that uses enemies like blood batteries would be sick. Even just something like having a version of cyclone that taps the target and have it usable on a summoned minion so you always have a battery to use would be sick. I dont need it to be amazing, just thematic and fun. I do like ur take on the vampire lord. You have clearly given this way more thought. I wholeheartedly agree that the core of it needs more thought.

i think it will be fun to have a range build around wands instad of bow guns. more as a wizzard wand specc. ther is a wanding echant alreddy and range speed buffs aparently also buff you wand spedd. so might be cool so see arcane shot or spels like that so make them wand teamd. and also be a ninja trowing wapens specc
