ZWO ASI2600MM Pro (mono)
Complete Overview: astrobackyard.com/zwo-asi2600...
This is a dedicated astronomy camera (astrophotography) with a 26MP monochrome CMOS sensor. The APS-C sized sensor is a great fit for most optical systems and can capture an impressive 6248 x 4176 resolution image.
ZWO ASI2600MM Pro: bit.ly/3Nd2FVV
ZWO EFW Filter Wheel: bit.ly/3N0tZFv
Chroma 3nm Ha Filter: bit.ly/3X3wiwf
3.76-micron pixels in a monochrome APS-C CMOS sensor is a beautiful thing. This cooled camera captures high-resolution images with noticeable depth and range thanks to 16-bit ADC and 50,000e Full Well Capacity.
Please stay tuned for more images with this camera as the weather improves.

I have to tell you something. YOU are the reason many of us started this hobby! And I think I can say for sure .. YOU are one of the best in astro photography out there. Many vintage cars are good, but you, you are on a completely different floor. The way you make videos, and the way you talk, info, tell us how and when. I would never have started this hobby if your videos were not on youtube. I hope I can call you my friend :) Because you have helped me, and many of us, to have a new hobby, a new way of seeing the sky, the stars, hell and even life itself .. I can not thank you enough Trevor. This hobby brings so much joy, and so many good times. So I want to say thank you from my heart, thank you very much.

I have been shooting with my self-astromodified Nikon D5300 for about a year. When I'll make the leap to dedicated astrocamera, that's exactly the camera I have in mind. I love my APS-C sensor field of view and I wouldn't settle for anything smaller. Full frame requires better optics, so that's out of the question, for now. The ZWO ASI 2600MM Pro satisfies all my requirements, too: same size sensor, amazing specs, monochrome (bye bye photon eating Bayer matrix!) and cooling. Definitely worth saving up for!

Stunning preview images Trevor. I have the ASI1600 MM Pro and love it. Since they finally made a mono version of the 2600 I think you were right in waiting. They do have the mono 6200 which has even a larger sensor but aside from the $4K price of that camera, the file sizes are 4 times larger so you better have a super computer to do the processing. The ASI 2600 is definitely the way to go. Oddly enough I just purchased the ASI294MC since I will be temporarily moving in other direction and want to do small scale galaxies and such with the Edge HD8 that purchased 2 month ago and is probably still sitting in China. As usual, great job on the video, Cheers!

Another well done video. Always expectantly waiting for the ride with new gear. Big refractor , new mono camera, Pixinsight, so much new to see. Go get Dylan and Chuck, and that next APOD. But... don’t forget the folks happy at the base and those just coming into the hobby. Once in a while break out the Raptor, a DSLR, not necessarily the Ra, stack it in DSS and teach yourself another new thing, GIMP, and takes us through those steps again and inspire us all to better and more satisfying imaging. And just a bit more Rudy too if possible, crazy is as crazy does.

Its difficult to beat the image quality of these cameras but those who are on low budget can get best output even with a crop sensor dslr. I have got better results with my crop sensor dslr by running the final image through Topaz Denoise AI. This plug-in really removes all the noise without ruining the sharpness and details.

Great job Trevor - did you try a bright star? The 1600's used to struggle. Hard to get a clean flame for example. The brighter stars would reveal a pattern on the glass/sensor. I wish I worked in an industry that made something this guy needs to review. The video provides enough context that viewers can gauge whether the product is relevant to their needs, outlines why the new item matters to him, then details the dopeness. I bet he gives cons, too. I wrote this before his conclusions. Well, no enumerated cons against the item, but bonus shovel shots? Overall, though, well-structured review.

Hello Trevor, It pains me to see you digging out a respectable area for your setup!. To be so-o-o dedicated to your "hobby" is encouraging. I show your videos to my wife, to lend support to MY craziness in the field. Well, there ARE some things about women that even I do not understand, so I am just grateful for a supportive spouse who will allow me my pleasures (even if she will not come out into the snow to share it with me). Great intro for the new camera; I have been debating between a mono and a color camera. I guess it is priorities on what I wish to accomplish. Reviews such as yours provides significant info into an expensive decision process. (Everytime I purchase something astronomical, my better half decides that "something" in the house needs a meaningful upgrade.)
