I lost mine due to my employer not paying the dues. That was a long time ago and they didn't call back then. Retested back then and now i have 3 certs now.

I am going to school for mbc and some of my classmates has worked as a mbc for years but never had a cert which is why they are going to school, how is that possible? How were they hired in the first place?

This content is mildly off-topic! In reading the guidelines for coding fractures the ICD-10 states that "When a fracture is not specified as open or closed, it is considered an open fracture", and "When a fracture is not indicated as displaced or non-displaced, it is coded as displaced." This seems like a contraindication. One seems to be under-coding and the other over-coding. Is there a specific reasoning behind this, or just because the guidelines say so. : )

Hi Victoria, I just passed my CPC exam with a lot of hard work and thanks to you too. I didn’t know any of these and I want to ask you a couple questions. The CEU are the local chapter training? Also What will the topic that I would look if I only have the cpc certificate? Thanks

I am not understanding prepicode. Can you do a live season on that? I feel like I am just swept under the rug😮

So for the first two years after I pass the exam I should do the education units or after the first two years

right after you pass, start working on them so you can build them up

They are due after 2 years, so you definitely don't want to wait until the last minute. 1 CEU is typically equivalent to 1 hour of education.

This is irrelevant to the video, (sorry) but I need some advice as I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now & you are someone whose advice would be so helpful from… I want to pursue medical coding/billing.. but I’m a stay at home mom currently. But looking ahead for my future. I want to go to school for something.. my question is - Is medical coding /billing a hard to find/hard to get job? Do places offer part-time jobs for this career? Thanks in advance

Medical coding and billing can be competitive when you’re first starting out, especially without experience, but there are definitely opportunities out there if you stay persistent. Part-time positions do exist, though they’re less common.
