@@Sayoriplier first of all, the movie looks awful, the actors don't blend well with the animated backgrounds and the CG animation completely fails to capture the charm of the in-game graphics. The designs work well in the games cause the gsmes aren't realistic, they made the movie look they had an AI generate a 'hyper-realistic texture pack'. Second we have a basic plot summary in the trailer's description and it sounds just as bad as the movie looks. It's a Jumanji rip-off. Minecraft deserves a proper adaptation, the games have so much interesting lore to tackle, but the people working on this movie clearly have no idea that's the case cause they actually couldn't care less about Minecraft and are just making a cash grab film. If you genuinely care about Minecraft, do not support this disaster of a film. The community deserves an actually good adaptation, not this mess.

Really love this idea, i feel it's unlikely for them to take it this direction, but I love to see horror elements in non-horror movies, and think Herobrine is a good way to do this. Semi-Realistically thinking however, I think they'd actually have him more as a more a somewhat typical villain, which I'm ehh about. Herobrine wasn't technically fake, although he was never in the game the Devs added stuff like "removed Herobrine" or "added Herobrine" to the games update logs as little teases to the fan-base, so the Devs openly acknowledged Herobrine's existence within the games fan-base making it seem less far fetched that he could be the antagonist of the movie, or at-least an Easter-egg hinting at him existing in the Minecraft universe.

Imagine this, the big villain fight is in the end and when it seems hopeless, steve tells them that they should actually be focusing on getting the dragon egg instead of whatever they're trying to get, and that they'll let him take it and it's "mystical powers" if they let all of them escape the end and go back home.
