One thing I'm very thankful for this Thanksgiving is my 10 year bromance with the Car Wizard. I could not own these hoopties without him. My channel has always been pretty honest showing the good with the bad, but usually the bad only applies to the many stupid things I do, or the stupid things nameless BMW engineers have done over the years. In this instance, the Wizard made a doozy of a mistake, and I was really worried and upset about my dream car (and a huge investment). Clearly, though, I was being a bit of a drama queen here. The Car Wizard agreed to handle it immediately, and even said it was ok that we make this video on the subject before I even asked. I was conflicted about doing it, but knew would be a good, honest story about the ups and downs of car ownership. It's clear many of you think I rubbed Wizard's nose in it a little too much, and you are absolutely right. He is a great mechanic, and nobody is perfect, and I'm glad to see the thousands of nice comments showing you don't think less of him, because I don't. I also understand why some of you think less of me, being so upset about something that isn't life and death. I know many people would dream about having the problems I have, especially in this current turbulent world. I totally get it, and apologize to those I disappointed. I'm very fortunate to be where I am, and I'll never forget that it's because you all watch these stupid videos.

If you watch the earlier video of the oil change, you see it was Magic Mike that made the mistake. Wizard had it right. If he wasn’t distracted by filming, he probably would have thought harder and corrected Mike, as it would be logical for the larger unit to be the transmission, not what Mike said. It’s all around 15.00 mins in other vid. Personally I doubt this would have happened if Hoovie didn’t have a camera in his face and he could focus. They should share the trans “warranty” cost 50/50.

@@augustinf Hoovie kinda pissed me off in this video being critical and playing victim. The Wizard has done so much for Hoovie; I mean he wouldn’t be able to maintain his collection without him and there would be no KZbin channel. Granted, it goes both ways because Hoovie has given the Wizard tons of business and allowed him to start his own KZbin channel. Point I’m making is Hoovie is spoiled and forgets what it’s like to not have such a competent, dedicated, reasonably priced mechanic. Yeah the Wizard made a mistake but he has saved Hoovie’s cars more than enough times to compensate for this mistake.
@kaasman784 жыл бұрын
@@ReaganThatcher What a BS comment. When you bring your car to a shop and a shop makes a fatal mistake like this...everyone should be kinda pissed. Especially knowing the Wizard tends to give it to other shops for not being careful or knowledgeable. Also, "Magic Mike" is supposed to be a Merc specialist...so even more problematic. Hoovie IS the victim of a terrible job done by the Wizard. In the end, mistakes happen. When big mistakes happen, some emotion is warranted. Keeps everyone honest. Like Hoovie said...it's how you try to fix the mistakes together that's important. You know...being adults and such. The Wizard takes full responsibility like he should and Hoovie stays civil and reasonable in return. Like it should be.

If this had happened at the dealership level or any other “professional, certified” Mercedes dealer, they WOULD be replacing that transmission.
