There still are a few around, its just most of them live here in Central/Eastern Europe or further east....they are a dying breed, though. I mean, there is a legendary guy who built and rode his own custom chopper- during the cold war, this side of the iron curtain, with no resources, tools or parts available. Didnt stop him though, used a block of steel and some acid to make vented disc brakes by hand, etc....back in the 70s. Luckily, the offspring of many of these folk heroes still carry the torch...

Yes, but I think he owes Hoovie a wide berth; many people would go a bit apesh*t if somebody put the wrong fluids in their exotic car. Obviously put downs are not productive and it's possible The Wizard isn't even responsible for the mistake. But when an off warranty car with a German dual-clitch transmission valued more than most people's entire automobiles is believed to be at risk for catastrophic damage, I'd probably say some pretty harsh things too.

Yes but always avoid a claim if you can (ie. absorb the cost yourself/resolve the issue) because premium hikes/coverage drops (and becoming uninsurable) are all too real... insurance sucks

@@RemcoStoutjesdijk not if it's a first gen. Besides, us automotive engineers have trouble identifying such mishaps. Most buyers of such high end cars will have them maintained at a dealer with highly specific educated mechanics. The wizard has many skills and just made an unanticipated mistake. He did look in to it and bought special fluids and he had good idea of what to do. I can imagine that finding information about this job is hard to find. It's not like there's a haynes manual for this car.

Tell wizard to look into a Prius power steering set up. Can get the motor unit for like $200 and just needs some fabricating to fit and connect battery to it and it will be amazing and you don’t need any modules or anything.

@@Kydenius I actually just finished up with a swap to this on my Mitsu Starion. There are a lot of compatible columns actually, but I used a column out of a 2012 yaris, a steering rack from a 2008 yaris, and a powersteering ecu from a 2010 corolla. Level of fabrication to make everything fit really depends on what you're putting it into. What about the electric one Cooper Bogetti put on his LS swapped 240 drift car he's building, I think it was off of a Volvo, not sure it was a couple months back. I think it worked with the factory GM pump.

Harmless joke in this case, but I've known of people with deep pockets taking their business elsewhere because of this mentality. The Wizard doesn't take advantage though. Good guy, good mechanic, good friend.
