Im a professional cleaner. My tip for deep cleaning is start from the top down and from left to right. That way you never forget where you left off. Also for oven cleaning, spray your cleaner of choice, close and turn on at 200 degrees for 30 minutes -1hr. Everything will wipe right off while still warm. Great job on your methods. Wow. You are amazing. Every winter, I go through my house, room by room, and declutter, clean each room completely and move on. When decluttering, I look at each item and decide 'to stay or go'. My rule is that if I have not used or needed any item for the past one or two years, it goes. The only exception to this rule is those special items that we keep because. It is a box or two of loving memories, that I will never give up. My husband has one or two of those boxes also. They have a special place where they are tucked away. I clean the outside of the boxes, around and below them, and sometimes I take a moment to look through the items, then tuck them back away. But like you, my first chore is always the kitchen. I have what I consider to be 'heavy' rooms and 'light' rooms. Heavy rooms are kitchen, laundry, mudroom and yes, the garage. Light rooms are bathrooms, bedrooms and living room. When I clean, I do a heavy room, then two light rooms, and I repeat that pattern until finished. I only work on this pattern of one heavy and two light rooms a week. When finished, I take a break till the next week. That way I can spread it out over 7 days and get some rest also. This works for me. When I am finished, I take all the items I have culled from my home and donate them to my local senior center. Twice a year they have a massive junk sale that they host with the donated items, and the funds goes to the senior center. As I am now a senior also, I understand the need for senior help. So, this way I am helping out other seniors 👵 and myself also. 🧓 Keep it up Becky. You inspire me.

Hi Becky just a tip cleaning your oven. The oven door can be removed, just lift the oven door up whilst it is open and then you don’t have lean on the door as this can cause the door to stretch. This way you can get right up into the oven. I clean mine every 3 months I spray and leave overnight. Hope this helps. Cheers from Australia ❤

Hi Becky. When you said something about your laundry room that reminded me to tell you that I don’t mind putting away laundry because of how I do it. I put wheels on my laundry basket (which is also my hamper) and a pull string to wheel the load around the house. When it’s done I wheel it to my bedroom and dump it on my bed (comfortable height) to sort and put away. I hang things directly into the closet and put things directly away. Baby could have similar setup. No dragging hangars back and forth and no folding on the floor and then having to lug back piles of things back to put away. Same with anything like dish towels, just fold them on island and put them directly into drawer where they go.

Hi Becky, I am not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but you need to fireproof your kitchen. You need at least one fire extinguisher, maybe two. Also, there is something called a fire blanket. Check into it. That way, if you were to have a fire, you would have it contained before it spreads. Believe me, kitchen fires can be devastating.

FYI for those who don't know microfiber clothes should never be washed with fabric softener and never go in the dryer, let them air dry. When you use fabric softener and put them in the dryer it takes away their properties of absorption and static that they need to dust and work at their best.

They are gauzy enough I can use them as strainers, flour them slightly and use them as a pastry cloth to roll out noodles and bread and use them for cleaning and drying dishes etc. they wash up great in hot water. I learned to use these from my grandmother.

Hi Becky. You do see that your ovens have a clean cycle. Utilizing these functions will definitely save you a lot time and elbow grease😊
@emilyalexander4439 Жыл бұрын
These clean functions are extremely dangerous if you don’t have the exact directions or if you have any food burnt on the oven can catch fire.

Wow! What a great day you had cleaning! I can honestly say that I haven't cleaned my oven since we have been here so am very behind. I need to do lots of organizing in the kitchen too, but that will have to wait until after I have back surgery and recover from it. thanks for the inspiration - I really enjoy your videos - it keeps me inspired while I'm unable to do the things I'd like to do. Thank you!!

Last year unfortuately, I was hospitalized for 5 weeks over Christmas and New Years. I was not able to be with my young family so I want it to be completely different this year. I plan to spend this holiday season taking it all in and enjoy every.single.minute. I want to be present in every moment :)

Hi Becky... something that I found out about growing up (bc my dad was ever so handy) was the dishwasher filter. If your dishes aren't getting good and clean, twist the little round basket in the bottom of the DW and pull out the filter basket. Just rinse under hot water and reinsert it back in the DW. I check mine every other month.
@lindabirkes-lance8915 Жыл бұрын
When I moved into my house this year I cleaned my dishwasher but I still had little specks that ended up on the dishes and inside the glasses/cups. I took the bottom off the DW and found a 3" chunk of broken glass down there along with a lot of crud. That got scrubbed and reattached. Still had little flecks of ick on the dishes. I cleaned out the little holes and used canned air to blow out yuck in the water fan blades. I finally have clean dishes - usually. I am looking forward to buying new appliances next year to begin with everything completely cleaned and nothing weird coming out of crevices.

Just watching you I’m out of breath but at the same time it’s soothing and how thorough you are cleaning and organized, I’m older and can’t tackle those things like I use too, it takes me in increments too deep clean like 3 days, it took me a week to organize my closets in get rid of stuff no longer useful or never going to wear, the kitchen is also my haven, my calm and I love to cook n bake, I’m learning from you and I’ve been around the block 70 times lol, it’s never to late to learn something new from each other, how I wish I had your strength n stamina. Your also very wonderful and down to earth ❤

I love how organized you are, Becky. I am inspired to declutter my kitchen and my home. I usually clean my oven in fall and spring. I don't tend to cook often since it is just myself. And I really need to take a look at kitchen items I don't use and donate them. Perhaps you could do a video of good organizational practice sometime?. I think it would be greatly received and appreciated. Thank you again for sharing with us.

Becky, you mentioned you work a couple days a week at your computer. Tip: turn the key board upside down with a sheet of paper underneath it and tap gently across the keyboard…you’ll see all the debris fall out on the paper. This will help the keys from sticking and typing will be easier. I was also taught to vacuum the vents on my computer for longevity. I love your channel and viewers comments as I’ve picked up some pretty handy tips~THANK YOU ALL and Merry Christmas! 🎄

For dishes, you don’t need to rinse before putting away! As long as the majority of food is gone the dishwasher can get rid of all of that, it works better if u don’t pre rinse!

My Daughter told me to follow my Joy! You are my Joy.! You are what I want to be and started preserving and freezer meals since I lost my job. You are a Well of Information and then you bring your Mom and Dad in and I feel so much Joy because of the love I had for my Parents. I miss those times. Our Son put in planters so I can garden since I showed him how much I love your videos. You are so Beautiful, Becky! I love watching you and have developed a love for your Family( Mom, Dad, Sisters, even though I had none and Brothers) May God bless you Forever and look forward to seeing more knowledge from you in the future. We can learn together. ❤❤❤

Becky I would line the base of your deep drawers with a wipeable liner . It’s so quick to give a quick wipe over more regularly . Great overall cleaning job x

Family is your priority. I do wipe up my oven as things get spilled and over flow. I deep clean about every 3 months, every season change. I use my oven a lot like you do. We all have those places where we need to give some tender loving care when we notice stuff. The front of stove/oven gets so dirty. It is a daily wipe down. Thank you so much for sharing your day with us.
@DawnPalmer55 Жыл бұрын
A suggestion…you might want to pull out your stove and clean the sides of the stove and the sides cabinets and clean underneath as well. You will usually find grease dripped down the sides and straight vinegar will clean that up in a hurry. Because you have dogs, I would also recommend pulling out and cleaning under the fridge. You can use a can of compressed air to clean the coils. While you’re at it, you could go ahead and do the same with the washer and dryer. I try to clean under my appliances every 3 to 4 months, just because I have animals.

Yes, I made a list of projects to work mostly organization. The garage needs tons of shelves to get things off the floor. I bought books shelves for my bedroom to get things organized with baskets to fit in the shelves. It's never ending. I have seen videos where the oven doors do come off, but I would never attempt it. I clean mine as it gets dirty. Thanks for sharing. Your house is awesome.

HI ❤ You asked us if we have goals for the winter, and my answer to that is yes I do. My mom is standing in a nursing home and she has dementia. She is not coming home no more. My husband and I have her staff from her apartment. That’s sold in November. I am the only child she have and ours home is overwhelmed of staff. That’s my and my husband’s goals to get this house in order. I’m a lady 57 year old no children and my husband and I are going for the 28th wedding anniversary next year in June. Love to see your videos ❤

I'm with you, I'd rather get the dirty work done, then clean up for the day. I usually don't feel fresh as a daisy after cleaning or laundry, or cooking, canning, whatever. My husband and son will be out of town to a Lego Convention all day Saturday and you may have just motivated me to do a deep clean of my kitchen while it's just me left to my own devices all day!!! Also love the 'working kitchen' idea! It has always stressed me out to have actual people living here who might leave a dish in the sink after the dinner clean up or if the kitchen isn't perfect going to bed... this philosophy speaks to me!!

How on earth do you expect to do everything gardening being a mum and a really good cook I just don't know how you do it. I've read how people think it's so easy I would love to put them in your place for an hour. And then see what they say. Enjoy your dinner you really have deserved it.
