I worked track safety at COTA for several years, spending a lot of time trackside. PSVR looks SO much like being there, it's amazing. Getting to hear the pack approach, seeing them all fly by, watching the last car disappear, then waiting for that faint roar to build again. Just amazing. This is going to be a great series.

As someone who's doing marshalling for tracks like Donington Park previously & been a trackside spectator since being a child I fully have to agree, the immersion of VR replay really does feel like that at times! Have a great day mate

Try driving an open top car, wearing PS VR2, whilst using a force-feedback racing wheal, with cockpit and set up a large fan, at head hight, a metre or so in front of your cockpit setup. It is genuinely mind blowing, just how immersive this game gets with the right set up. I’m praying F1 2023 gets PS VR2 support, along with every other major racing title, because I can’t go back to flat screen anymore.

It's truly mind boggling ... when I spectate VR replay of my race and it places me literally on the edge of the race track and the first car drives straight "through my body", I "feel it" :) .. I know my mind is playing games with my senses, but it just shows how realistic it is...

I was racing with friends in lobby with full rain and night at High speed ring and Lemans tracks. The rush in VR is so great in this car, we race with bost on so that 15 minutes races anyone can win. Absolutely the best 2.5 Million credits ever spent. 😁🇨🇦

Yessssss. Not sure if they have go karts in gt7. But in GT sport I played a go kart race one on one. Hit a curb and flipped. Scariest gaming experience of my life. Nearly had a real life heart attack. Had to take their headset off and relax for about 3 min. 🤣

If only I was as lucky as you to be able to afford buying a PS5 & PSVR 2. My wife and I are struggling just to be able to afford the basic things in life, like paying bills and buying food and keeping a roof over our heads. We both work 70 to 80 hours a week and it's still not enough to save up to buying anything extra. But I'm happy that their's people like yourself who can actually afford to buy such great thing's and I'm glad you share your video's with us so that we can at least see all the awesome stuff that we're missing out on. GT7 in VR is incredible. I haven’t bought this Honda yet but I plan to, it looks gorgeous in the VR showroom. I think the best, immersive race I’ve had so far is around Red Bull ring in the the rain driving the Radical 😍🏎️🎮

I really enjoy driving the RA272! The biggest drawback is high speed braking while having to turn. This thing becomes more unstable than a nuclear fusion reaction.

I use PSvr1 with PS4 and Gran Turismo Sport, and I was very pleased since the first use in 2021. The VR mode, in GTS, is only available for training, but you have the possibility of a 2-lap race against a single A.I. pilot. In the training mode, I manage to get close to the times for the Lewis Hamilton challenge, in the standard cinematic mode, 2 seconds behind him. next comes the purchase of PS5 Disk model and a little later PSVR2, maybe a DD Pro package.

I'm in two minds about VR, don't get me wrong I love it, but it's just the hasle of setting it all up ready for a racing session Vs slapping yourself down on the settee with a controller for a burst. I find I rarely get the time to dedicate to a vr session and when I do I nearly always get a tap on the shoulder and interrupted.

Despite having a few PSVR2 games it’s the only one I play. FYI it doesn’t look even close to as clear as in this video but the immersion soon takes over and it’s very very cool

Would love to see some of the VG cars on PSVR2. With their weird futuristic interiors it should be crazy. Specially if you do full immersion with no heads-up display. Having to figure out the gauges.

Great review! I have a question. I am blind in my right eye. Could I still the PS VR2, or would it cut off the complete right side of the view and cockpit? I have tried VR in a different game and it didn't seem to matter, but not sure how it works on GT7 with the VR2. Thanks!

Ok don’t take this as the definitive test but I just tried the VR2 with one eye closed. Here is what I can tell you: 1. 3D effect is there, as much as I guess it can be with limited vision. 2. The image is clear but you can see the grain a bit more. Keep in mind that even in 20:20 vision the image is nowhere close to what is depicted in this video. 3. You can look left, right, into the corners, at the seat next to you. If a car goes off the track into the grass you can look to the side and see where they’re off to. 4. There is a bigger “goggle” area around the eye. It disappear with standard vision, but more visible in one eye view. Overall VR racing is more than passable in the test but would get some getting used to.

Its so weird theres such a big difference between people when it comes to this. I can play for hours and hours and not feel anything. Backing up with a car makes me feel a little weird but nothing serious.. while my friend can take max 2 corners before he has to take the headset off.

@anicesweater8281 I felt strange after around half an hour of elevation changes originally but honestly within 2 days of playing a few VR games I can now play for any length of time without feeling anything I also took a travel sickness pill twice before playing & haven't needed to after that, it's rather amazing how fast you adjust to it. For me I just played pavlov because that game was really giving me motion sickness after half an hour with all the smoothing effects off & purposely making myself feel horrific I haven't felt a single bit of sickness since Basically torture yourself & you'll adjust rapidly

Take some travel sickness tablets first and just do a lap of a track at a steady pace then take the headset off and take a breather. Do it again and slowly build up speed and do more laps. You will soon get over the sickness. If you start to feel really I’ll, don’t push through it though.

Grinding doesn't really come into play until you get to the multi-million credit cars. Play through the cafe menus first and you'll get a ton of cars for just winning races.

Assists are all off apart from ABS set to default It's just far too easy to drive on it's default setting with its only downside being a little twitchy under heavy breaking
